Major League Fishing, RFD-TV Join Forces to Bring Bass Fishing to National TV
'This collaboration embodies what's possible when tradition meets innovation. We're not just broadcasting bass fishing – we're elevating the platform for anglers, sponsors and fans alike, and we're doing it together.' Share
Starting Sunday, August 24, RFD-TV will air the final period of all 24 Team Series matches live – delivering the most intense, high-stakes moments of MLF competition straight into living rooms across the country. Final-period broadcasts will air from 2:30 to 5 p.m. ET, and unlike any other televised bass tournaments, the winner of each match will be crowned live as teams strive to survive and advance to the championship round. In addition, RFD-TV will kick off its coverage with a special full-day broadcast of Day 1 of the opening Team Series event of the season, the B&W Trailer Hitches Challenge Cup from Port Huron on Michigan's Thumbcoast, airing live from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 24.
This partnership is more than just a programming decision. It's a bold step forward for both organizations. It marks MLF's first live presence on a linear television network since Emmy-winning announcer Joe Buck, baseball analyst Bob Brenly and Forrest L. Wood called the action live on FOX during the 1999 Ranger M1 Millennium, the first time a bass fishing tournament appeared live on linear TV. The historic Nov. 7, 1999, broadcast reeled in more than 2 million viewers. The 2025 MLF Team Series heralds Rural Media Group's return to live sports broadcasting, building on a legacy that once included over 600 live rodeo events annually.
'This partnership is a major milestone for Major League Fishing and for the sport of professional bass fishing,' said Jim Wilburn, President of Sales for MLF. 'Our fans will now be able to watch live tournament action unfold on a national broadcast television network. RFD-TV's reach and commitment to rural and outdoor programming make them the perfect partner to help us bring the excitement of the Team Series to more households than ever before.'
Raquel Gottsch Koehler, Chief Marketing & Creative Officer and Co-Owner of RFD-TV, sees the partnership as part of a broader mission.
'This is about more than live sports. It's about honoring tradition while embracing what's next,' Koehler said. 'At RFD-TV, we've always been committed to amplifying voices and stories that too often go unheard, and the story of professional bass fishing is one of grit, strategy and relentless passion. We're extremely proud that RFD-TV will bring that story live to a national broadcast audience.'
The 2025 MLF Team Series is made up of four Cups – the Challenge Cup (Aug. 24–29), Heritage Cup (Sept. 14–19), Patriot Cup (Oct. 22–27), and Summit Cup (Nov. 16–21) – each featuring six action-packed matches with Bass Pro Tour anglers paired in two-man teams. Designed for television, the format delivers nonstop action, dramatic swings, and SCORETRACKER® leaderboard shakeups that make for compelling live viewing.
Each live broadcast will be produced by MLF's award-winning production partner, Winnercomm, in HD and delivered to RFD-TV, ensuring the same standard of excellence fans have come to expect from MLFNOW!® livestream coverage. RFD-TV will hold exclusive linear broadcast rights during the live airing window, while fans can also stream the final periods live on MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MLF and MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) apps, RFD-TV Now, Game & Fish TV, and Rumble. MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MLF and MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) apps, and Rumble will stream the entirety of each event. Post-produced episodes of the Team Series will continue to air on the Outdoor Channel, Discovery and Vice.
The agreement also includes a dynamic mix of promotional support from both partners, including tune-in spots across MLF digital and linear platforms, dedicated features on RFD-TV's Market Day Report and Rural Evening News, and a one-hour 'MLF 101' special airing from RFD-TV's Nashville studios in August.
'This collaboration embodies what's possible when tradition meets innovation,' Wilburn said. 'We're not just broadcasting bass fishing – we're elevating the platform for anglers, sponsors and fans alike, and we're doing it together.'

LIV Golf Chicago: First Look at Bolingbrook Golf Club
LIV Golf LIV Golf Chicago: First Look at Bolingbrook Golf Club Published Aug. 5, 2025 2:59 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – LIV Golf returns to Bolingbrook Golf Club for the second consecutive year for this week's LIV Golf Chicago, the 12th tournament of the 14-event 2025 season. When: Aug. 8-10, 2025 Where: Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois Competition: Three rounds (54 holes of stroke play) Field: 54 players (13 teams of four players each, and two wild cards) Defending champions: Jon Rahm (individual), Crushers GC (team) Shotgun Start local time Rd. 1, 11:05 a.m. CT Rd. 2, 12:05 p.m. CT Rd. 3, 9:05 a.m. CT Chicago is the only city to have hosted a LIV Golf tournament in each of the league's first four seasons. Two regular-season tournaments are left in the 2025 LIV Golf season, with the Individual Championship race; Lock Zone, Open Zone and Drop Zone status; and seedings for the Team Championship at stake. Joaquin Niemann has a commanding lead in the Individual Championship race after winning his fifth tournament of the season at LIV Golf UK by JCB and can clinch the title in Chicago. ADVERTISEMENT Jon Rahm's Legion XIII also has a commanding lead for the top seed in the team standings after their fourth win of the season in England. Legion XIII has won eight of its first 25 tournaments — and reached the podium five other times — since joining LIV Golf as the league's first expansion team. Rahm outdueled Niemann a year ago at Bolingbrook to win the season-long Individual Championship. RangeGoats GC Captain Bubba Watson (second in LIV Golf UK) and Legion XIII's Caleb Surratt (third) come off the best individual results of their LIV Golf careers. Surratt, 21, is the youngest player in the league, and four other players 23 or younger also finished with points in England — Josele Ballester (T7), Tom McKibbin (T11), David Puig (T18) and Yubin Jang (T21). Niemann's five-win season has given him a commanding lead in the season-long Individual Championship race, and the Torque GC captain has an opportunity to clinch the title at LIV Golf Chicago. Niemann has 206.80 points with two regular-season tournaments left. The only players with a mathematical chance of catching him are Rahm (169.16 points) and Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau (136.24 points). According to the latest probability percentages from LIV Golf's data analysts, Niemann has an 84.12% chance of winning the Individual Championship this season while Rahm has a 15.70% chance. The longshot, DeChambeau, has a 0.18% chance. With 40 points for an individual tournament win, Rahm — the defending LIV Golf Individual Champion — has a chance to take over the top spot after Chicago if he posts his first win this season, while Niemann finishes solo 18th or worse. Meanwhile, DeChambeau's only hope of remaining in the race is to win in Chicago while Niemann finishes solo 11th or worse. As for Niemann, if he wins in Chicago, he will clinch the Individual Championship prior to the regular-season finale next week in Indianapolis. It would be a turnaround from the regular-season finale last year at Bolingbrook, in which Rahm won the season-long race by winning the tournament over Niemann. There are several other scenarios in which Niemann could clinch the title at Bolingbrook, as he merely needs to acquire 2.37 more points than Rahm and not have DeChambeau win. For example, if Rahm finishes solo 11th this week and Niemann finishes solo 9th, then Niemann will clinch the title. Niemann has averaged just 1.13 points in the six tournaments that he has not won. The wide variance of his win-or-miss results has allowed the more consistent Rahm to remain in the race despite just two podiums and no wins this season. Rahm averages 15.37 points per winless start this season. This piece is courtesy of Mike McAllister in partnership with LIV Golf. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? CNBC Excerpt: Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan Speaks with CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin on 'Power Lunch' Today
WHEN: Today, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 WHERE: CNBC's "Power Lunch" Following is an excerpt from the unofficial transcript of a CNBC interview with Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan on CNBC's "Power Lunch" (M-F, 2PM-3PM ET) today, Tuesday, August 5. Following is video of All references must be sourced to CNBC. MOYNIHAN ON PRESIDENT TRUMP'S COMMENTS DURING "SQUAWK BOX" INTERVIEW ANDREW ROSS SORKIN: Good morning to you. I should say really good afternoon. Joining me right here in Aspen is Bank of America CEO, Brian Moynihan and I originally planned to talk to you about the economy. I still do, but I have something that was not on my bingo card this morning because we talked to President Trump on "Squawk Box" about this executive order that he's planning around banks, who he thinks discriminated against conservatives. And your name came up, and so I just wanted to show you what he said and wanted to get your reaction to that. SOUND OF PRESIDENT TRUMP ON "SQUAWK BOX:" What happens is I call up Bank of America routinely because when I was president, this was after I got out by the way, I call up Bank of America routinely, and I speak to him, and I speak to a couple of people, and they have zero interest. Brian was kissing my ass when I was president, and when I called him after I was president to deposit a billion dollars plus and a lot of other things, more importantly, to open accounts, and he said, "We can't do it. No, we can't do it." SORKIN: You heard it? Were you watching TV when this was happening? BRIAN MOYNIHAN: So I got up early because we're on East Coast time I was I was working out, and I was watching your wonderful show, and he came on, and I'm telling you, I'm still trying to unsee some of the visuals that he created with his commentary. But look, the President's after the right thing, which is the laws, rules and regulations around our industry became used to cause things to happen. This was BSA, AML, whether it's KYC, whether it's reputational risk, and you heard Tim Scott quote about it. It is right to go look at these rules, because at the end of day, they are causing decisions to be made that can be looked at in retrospect differently. We should get these rules right. So our company, my colleagues' companies, the industry, has been working with the Treasury administration today in this administration, trying to figure out how to get these rules balanced so that we're not subject to this swing back and forth in this after the fact. Look, so the President's on the right issue. He asked me about it in Davos, we were there. He asked me, he talked about it this morning, and I welcome getting this fixed. At the end of day, we bank 70 million consumers, more small business than anybody else. 12 million small business more middle market companies than, we bank everybody. But the reality is, we want to make sure that the rules and regulations don't cause decisions to be made that then are looked at in the aftermath and dealt differently. SORKIN: Do you worry though at all about either your your firm or other banks a form of sort of retribution? I mean, one of the things we did see was in the context of, for example, the law firms. MOYNIHAN: So I look, at the other day, we'll get through this and get some rules written, and then we can follow them and let let's let it all play out. But I think that the President is on the right issue, which is, we got to stop the regulars behind the scenes of whip sawing back and forth and forcing our companies, and companies like ours to make decisions which Congress hasn't passed on or he hasn't passed on.

Grey Ghost's Famed Burger Arrives in Ferndale
is the James Beard Award-winning regional editor for Eater's Midwest region, and in charge of coverage in Chicago, Detroit, and the Twin Cities. He's a native Chicagoan and has been with Eater since 2014. Grey Ghost's popular burger is now available in Ferndale. Little Ghost, a fast-casual spinoff of the award-winning Detroit restaurant, is open, complete with a cute cartoony mascot. Customers will find the original burger, as well as a vegetarian version made with a quinoa patty. There's also a fried chicken sandwich and an all-beef hot dog topped with whipped cream cheese — perhaps a tribute to the wieners served in Seattle. French fries, chicken tenders, and a good old-fashioned bag of doughnuts are also available, according to a news release. Four Man Ladder Hospitality has designs on opening more locations, so there's a good chance customers will see more of that aforementioned mascot — a burger with legs dressed up as a ghost covered with a sheet adorned by a smiley face. They're serving lunch and dinner at 22305 Woodward Avenue. The space is about 1,000 square feet and includes a walk-up window. Little Ghost will also offer local delivery. Little Ghost/Erica Crosby Photography Little Ghost/Erica Crosby Photography Little Ghost/Erica Crosby Photography Diners can opt for a single patty, but the original version is a double-smashed burger with American cheese, a special dill sauce, and shredded lettuce with onion. The beef comes from Fairway Packing Co. Legions of fans would visit Brush Park for a taste and during the pandemic the restaurant sold burger kits. It's not uncommon to see a restaurant attempt to capitalize on a popular menu item like a burger. There's a chance Little Ghost would free up demand for burgers at the flagship; there are plenty of other options on Grey Ghost's menu. There's also a chance that the casual and more accessible Little Ghost could bring curious diners to its older sibling, which debuted in 2016. Four Man Ladder is co-owned by Joe Giacomino and John Vermiglio, and partners Will Lee and Michael Gray. They also run Basan and Second Best. Basan executive chef Eric Lees is behind the food at Little Ghost. Little Ghost, 22305 Woodward Avenue, open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
