Yates wins Tour de France's 1st mountainous stage and Healy takes yellow jersey from Pogačar
Healy was nominated the most combative rider of the day after forcing the initiative on the 10th stage, but Yates timed his break perfectly on the final climb to win a stage for the third time.
Dutch rider Thymen Arensman was 9 seconds behind, while Healy finished third, 31 seconds behind Yates.
Three-time Tour champion Tadej Pogačar finished further back alongside main rival Jonas Vingegaard and French rider Lenny Martinez with a gap of 4 minutes, 51 seconds.
It meant that the 24-year-old Healy, who claimed his first stage victory on Thursday, took the overall lead 29-seconds ahead of Pogačar.
Stage 10 took the riders on a tough 165.3-kilometer route in the Massif Central – France's south-central highland region – from Ennezat through seven category two climbs before concluding on the ascent of Puy de Sancy – the region's highest peak – after 3.3 kilometers of an 8% gradient climb.
The riders can look forward to their first rest day on Tuesday.

Victor Wembanyama Cleared to Play After Season-Ending Blood Clots
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has been fully cleared and expects to play next season after dealing with deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder for the last few months, he told the French newspaper L'Equipe in remarks published Monday. "I'm officially cleared to return. … I'll finally be able to play a bit of basketball again," Wembanyama told the French sports daily. There was no immediate comment from the Spurs on the report. It has been expected that the team anticipated Wembanyama would be able to start this coming season, though there was no official word until now. Wembanyama was the league's rookie of the year two years ago, and Spurs guard Stephon Castle won that same trophy this past season. Wembanyama was the front-runner to be defensive player of the year last season when he was diagnosed with the blood clot in his right shoulder in February. He was averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 3.7 assists when he was shut down; the only other player in NBA history to finish a season averaging all that was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975-76. Wembanyama has traveled extensively in recent months and spent time last month at a Shaolin temple in Zhengzhou, China. The temple is a place that welcomes visitors who wish to study Chan meditation, Shaolin Kung Fu, traditional Chinese medicine and more. Reporting by The Associated Press. Tour de France Stage 10 results, standings: Simon Yates wins, Ben Healy nabs yellow jersey
The first mountain stage of the 2025 Tour de France led to a shake up in the race for the yellow jersey at cycling's most prestigious event. Simon Yates of Great Britain won Stage 10, which featured eight different ascents and challenged riders with climbs totaling nearly 14,600 feet. But it was the jockeying for position going on behind him amongst those challenging for the overall lead that provided the most drama. Advertisement Ben Healy, who represents Ireland and won Stage 6 last week, grabbed the yellow jersey from Tadej Pogačar. Healy finished in third place during the stage, 31 seconds behind Yates but more than 4 minutes, 20 seconds ahead of Pogačar. Healy started Monday's race ‒ a 165.3-kilometer course that began in Ennezat and ended on Puy de Sancy mountain ‒ outside of the top 10 in the chase for the yellow jersey. He'll now keep it for at least two days, with the first rest day of the 2025 Tour de France scheduled for Tuesday, July 15. Pogačar sits in second place in the overall standings and trails Healy by 29 seconds.
