Selfies of woman "dripping in diamonds" on cruise led to her arrest for jewelry theft, police say
Lucy Roberts, 39, was convicted of stealing more than £124,000 worth of jewelry and cash from a luxury store that she previously managed, according to Humberside Police in northeastern England, where the scheme took place. The haul included diamonds, gold and silver pieces, with the total value of stolen items equating to around $170,000.

Police said Roberts acquired the costly accessories during her tenure at the jewelry shop, when she would take items home with her and tell suspicious colleagues that she was just "sorting stock" for the store at her residence.
Roberts left her job at the store after a year as its manager, police said. Then, from a cruise ship, she sent selfies to her former coworkers that pictured her wearing luxury jewels, which staff did not believe she'd purchased.
"Without a care in the world, dripping in diamonds, thinking she had deceived everybody, Roberts arrogantly posed on social media and sent pictures boasting to her ex-colleagues about the great time she was having on holiday, not thinking they would realise what she had been doing," said Sgt. Krista Wilkinson, a detective with Humberside Police, in a statement.
A police investigation found that Roberts had falsified stock inventory and made fraudulent returns to the store, prompting a search of her home where some stolen jewelry was found. More than 260 items were discovered "strewn around in boxes beneath the bed and in cupboards," Humberside Police said.
Officers arrested Roberts at Heathrow Airport in London when she returned from the cruise. According to police, she was wearing stolen jewels, and more were found in her suitcase. They said body-worn camera footage showed Roberts at the airport attempting to remove and dispose of her jewelry.
Roberts denied the theft allegations, according to police.

A former police officer made a woman feel vulnerable and unsafe by repeatedly approaching and asking her out, a court has heard. Ex-Devon and Cornwall Police Constable Kevin Davis, 41, of Seaton, pleaded guilty to stalking and misconduct in public office charges during a hearing at Exeter Magistrates' Court. Park ranger stabbed in 'targeted attack,' officials say search for suspect underway
Colorado authorities are looking for a man who allegedly stabbed a ranger in a state park and fled the scene. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the ranger was struck in the torso on Aug. 19 at Staunton State Park, located about 40 miles from Denver. Per CBS News, KDVR, and The Denver Post, the victim told emergency dispatch that he had an altercation with the attacker at about 9:30 a.m. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office public information officer Jacki Kelley told reporters there was "radio silence for quite a while" before the ranger called again to say he was stabbed and provided the description of the man. The ranger, who was struck in the torso, was transported via airlift and underwent surgery at a nearby hospital, the outlets reported. Authorities described the suspect as a 200-pound white man with brown hair in his 30s who was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. He reportedly ran into the woods of the national park. "We have reason to believe this was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing threat to the community," the sheriff's office posted. Two people who were deemed "persons of interest" were cleared of any involvement, officials said. A notice on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website says Staunton State Park is currently closed "due to law enforcement activity." Husband of woman found dead in forest fled to Peru: Authorities
The husband of a missing California woman who was found dead in the Angeles National Forest has fled to Peru, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Sheylla Cabrera, 33, was reported missing on Aug. 12, according to police. During the subsequent investigation, investigators say they discovered video surveillance appearing to show her husband, 36-year-old Jossimar Cabrera, dragging something in a large piece of material from the apartment complex where the two lived with their three sons. Authorities say they're obtaining the "necessary documents to secure his return." The case will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for criminal charges against Jossimar Cabrera. Investigators say they believe foul play may have been involved in Sheylla Cabrera's disappearance. Investigative teams had been searching large areas of the Angeles National Forest, according to the sheriff's office.
