A lot of names missing.
Christian Palii, not in it, not in it.
Yeah, my man's taking a sabbatical.
He got, he's in a hammock, bro.
He's got his sunglasses on, flip flops, taking a break.
I think apparently if, if he plays 49 more minutes this season, um, it will be the either the most amount of minutes.
Played in his career or something like that.
They're they're basically saying like, he's a lot of miles on them, got a lot of minutes logged and uh let's just we just kind of give him a break.
It does kind of take away from this excitement of the Gold Cup because we're realistically not going to be seeing the best uh USMNT roster of available players.

The Club World Cup also takes away some of the players, but also being the last real.
Competition before the World Cup, you'd want your a squad to get more minutes together and that the fact that that's not happening is a little bit upsetting, especially Christian Ballistic, just you're a leader, you're a captain, you know what I mean?
So I kind of want you there.
I get it.
I get both perspectives.
It's hard to be that, uh, harsh or critical about it because you also want him to be healthy at the healthy, and he's having the best run of form in his club career.
You want that to continue.
Maybe they're getting moved to a team that's in Champions League or at least be even more of a, of a leader at AC Milan.
So I get it, but it's the leading scorer at AC Milan, bro, can he be the leading scorer during the Gold Cup though?
Yeah.
The biggest issue about the 2026 World Cup is that we don't have very, we don't have meaningful games to play in to qualify for that World Cup because we automatically qualify.
So now it's like getting.
That energy and excitement, you know, chemistry, camaraderie, we need to build all of that.
And also, to your point, you gotta find the, the fringe players that can either sneak into a more meaningful position or those players that can sneak into the fringe, you know what I mean, that can get themselves in that squad that can add depth, right?

So, uh, so look, I'm, I'm hoping it all works out for, for Plus, and we don't know if he ends up, uh, moving to a different club because that's also a real possibility, uh, but that's, uh, that's an option this summer, so he, I'm sure he has a lot going on.

🌍 World Cup 2026: how are the favourites looking a year out? 🤔

🌍 World Cup 2026: how are the favourites looking a year out? 🤔 The 2026 World Cup kicks off in... a year, on June 11, 2026! Argentina, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Brazil: we're taking stock of the state of the big nations 365 days before the big day! They're on fire ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Argentina, Spain Argentina, the current world champion, is leading the qualification group in South America. Lionel Scaloni's players have been officially qualified for several weeks now, and nothing seems to be disturbing them a year before the World Cup. Advertisement On the Spanish side, the year that followed their Euro 2024 title was... almost perfect. La Roja hasn't lost a single match since March 22, 2024 (a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in a friendly), and the defeat in the Nations League final to Portugal on penalties won't plunge Lamine Yamal and his teammates into doubt. It's promising ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Portugal Vitinha, João Neves, Bruno Fernandes, Rafael Leão, Rúben Dias, Cristiano Ronaldo: Portugal's squad is certainly the most complete and intimidating in the world! The victory in the Nations League should give confidence to the entire team and, above all, credit to Roberto Martínez. Although not everything is perfect yet, and sometimes not pretty to watch, the last two matches against Germany and Spain are promising! It's coming together ⭐⭐⭐ Germany, England On the German and English sides, the two teams, respectively led by Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel, are in the midst of (re)building. Again, not everything is perfect, but we're starting to see where the two coaches want to go... They're raising questions ⭐⭐ France, Brazil France's post-Euro 2024 period doesn't allow us to approach the 2026 World Cup with full confidence. The defeats against Italy, in Croatia, and against Spain were worrying... just as the victories against Germany, in Italy, or against Croatia at the Stade de France were promising. Advertisement Didier Deschamps has exactly one year to get his Blues out of the fog... On the Brazilian side, the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti should help relaunch a selection that has been struggling in recent years. 📸 Ricardo Moreira - 2025 Getty Images Big danger ⭐ Italy Absent from the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, Italy could miss... the 2026 one! Beaten 3-0 over the weekend in Norway, the Squadra Azzura is already lagging behind Erling Haaland's teammates in the qualifying campaign for the World Cup. Luciano Spalletti was fired, and the team is in crisis. Above all, talented players are terribly lacking. Italy's generational gap is worrying. U.S. Customs and Border Protection removes Club World Cup post amid FIFA concerns

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authority has removed a controversial social media post highlighting its upcoming security presence around the upcoming Club World Cup after direct contact from FIFA expressing concerns. Last Friday, the CBP announced on its Facebook page and other social channels that its agents would be 'suited and booted ready to provide security for the first round of games' while noting that the tournament begins at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium this Saturday. Advertisement According to sources familiar with the conversations, speaking anonymously due to their sensitive nature, the post, which attracted thousands of interactions, was deleted after senior personnel from FIFA expressed concerns to the CBP about the reaction it had provoked. With President Trump's administration having made deportations and a clampdown on illegal immigration key objectives, the post sparked a wave of media and public attention, heightening concerns that fans may be deterred from attending gamers due to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and CBP presence. Following contact from FIFA, CBP removed the post. It is unclear the extent to which FIFA's outreach influenced the decision to remove the post, but this episode shows that FIFA are becoming concerned about the potential perception for fans attending the tournament both this year and at next year's World Cup. FIFA declined to comment when approached by The Athletic. In a statement sent to The Athletic on Wednesday morning, a CBP Spokesperson said: 'U.S. Customs and Border Protection is committed to working with our local and federal partners to ensure the FIFA Club World Cup is safe for everyone involved, as we do with every major sporting event, including the Super Bowl. Our mission remains unchanged.' Thomas Kennedy of the Florida Immigrant Coalition told South Florida's NBC6 previously that the messaging used by the CBP in the post was 'a bit cryptic, it's sort of alluding that people should have their paperwork in order to attend the games.' Kennedy added that it may make potential fans 'less likely to come watch the games because of just sheer intimidation.' CBP professionals are sometimes present at major sporting events, according to the organization, in order to help detect and respond to threats and criminal activity. The organization's Air and Marine Operations will also be involved to enforce temporary flight restrictions around stadiums during matches. Advertisement ICE agents will also be at Club World Cup games, as part of the overall security operation. FIFA president Gianni Infantino brushed the controversy aside earlier this week, telling reporters: 'No, I don't have any concerns about anything in the sense that we are very attentive on any security question, of course the most important for us is to guarantee security for all the fans who come to the games, this is our priority.' FIFA has taken active steps to boost its promotional efforts for the opening games after the initial uptake of tickets was slow. Local college students in the Miami area have been given the opportunity to buy five tickets for just $20 for Saturday's clash between Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Egyptian club Al-Ahly. Leroy Sané bids Bayern fans goodbye ahead of a likely move to Galatasaray

Associated Press ISTANBUL (AP) — Germany winger Leroy Sane posted an emotional farewell message to Bayern Munich fans on Thursday as he nears a move to Galatasaray on a free transfer. The Turkish league champion confirmed on social media late Wednesday that Sané arrived in Istanbul for negotiations. 'After 5 intense years here in Munich, I've decided to start a new chapter in the upcoming season," Sané wrote on Instagram. "I'm incredibly proud to have worn the jersey of the best and biggest club in Germany for over 200 matches and will always cherish the titles we've won together.' Sané's contract with Bayern expires at the end of the month, though he has been included in Bayern's squad for the Club World Cup in the U.S. Talks on a possible extension dragged on through the season without a resolution, even as Bayern reached agreements on new contracts with teammates like Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich. A five-year stay will end at Bayern, which signed Sané in 2020 for a reported fee of just under 50 million euros (then $56.3 million) after a lengthy pursuit of the then-Manchester City player. During his time in Munich, he's won the Bundesliga four times, but has faced criticism in recent seasons for a perceived lack of consistency, especially in European games. Sané scored 13 times in 45 games across all competitions for Bayern this season but only one of those goals came in the Champions League. ___ AP soccer: recommended in this topic
