3ala Mazag: Monopunk [Curated Playlist]
Jul 01, 2025
In this installation of our '3ala Mazag' series, Monopunk aka Ali Kassab - the IT-photographer of Egypt's rap scene, who previously worked with the likes of Wegz, Khaled Mokhtar, and Shahyn - curates a playlist of his ultimate 10/10 tunes that he'd usually keep on rotation.
His curation is naturally packed with pure rap songs, dominated by a slew of prominent Egyptian emcees, including ZIAD ZAZA, Marwan Pablo, and Abyusif. A few world-famous alternative R&B and indie-rock artists also make the list. His selection features staples like 'KKK' by Shehab and Omar Keif, '7elmet Ado 5' by ElGrandeToto, 'El Lakta' by Wegz, along with global hits like The Weeknd's 'House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls', and Cash Cobain's 'rump punch'.
