Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday! In this weekly roundup, we'll give you a handful of Android wallpapers you can download and use on your phone, tablet, or even your laptop/PC. The images will come from folks here at Android Authority as well as our readers. All are free to use and come without watermarks. File formats are JPG and PNG, and we'll provide images in both landscape and portrait modes, so they'll be optimized for various screens.

Another week, another set of awesome Android wallpapers for you to share! Remember that we are always looking for submissions from our readers. Head to the bottom of this article to find out how you could have one of your images featured in an upcoming Wallpaper Wednesday!
With that in mind, we've got six awesome images from our readers that would look great on your phone, tablet, or PC. As usual, we also have three images from the Android Authority team.
First, we have a cool photo of a bird hanging out in a tree watching the sunset over Edisto Island. That comes from reader (and frequent contributor) Julius Earle, Jr., who used a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus for the capture! Next, we have a very wide photo of a building from reader Kaustav Pramanik. After that, we have an astoundingly colorful shot of a Clematis flower from reader (and frequent contributor) Rick L. Thompson. Rick used a Google Pixel 8a for that one! Next, we have a peaceful shot of the sunset over some water from reader (and frequent contributor) Mandar Marathe, who used a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for the capture! After that, we have a very interesting and creative shot from reader Nathaniel, who sent over a photo taken under water using a Samsung Galaxy A35! Finally, we have another creative shot, this time of a sculpture in Selby Gardens in Sarasota. That one comes from reader (and frequent contributor) Pasquale Freda, who used a Samsung Galaxy S25 for the capture. Thanks so much for your submissions, all!

They will not be accepted. Images you created and then augmented with AI tools are OK.

Sam Altman, OpenAI will reportedly back a startup that takes on Musk's Neuralink
Sam Altman is in the process of co-founding a new brain-to-computer interface startup called Merge Labs, and raising funds for it with the capital expected to largely come from OpenAI's ventures team, unnamed sources told the Financial Times. The startup is expected to be valued at $850 million. Merge Labs is also reportedly working with Alex Blania, who runs Tools for Humanity (formerly World) — Altman's eye-scanning digital ID project that 'allows anyone to verify their humanness,' as the company describes. Merge Labs will compete with Elon Musk's Neuralink, which is developing computer interface chips designed to be implanted in the brain. Musk founded Neuralink in 2016 (although its existence wasn't known until 2017) and the company has made serious progress. Neuralink is currently in trials with people who suffer from severe paralysis. It aims to allow them to control devices with their thoughts. It raised a $600 million Series E at a $9 billion valuation in June. Neuralink (and perhaps, Merge Labs) could revolutionize how humans interact with technology. Some might even say their tech could take humanity towards 'the singularity.' Long before Silicon Valley became obsessed with the concept of artificial general intelligence (AGI), it was enamored with 'the singularity.' Musk has used the term to describe a time when AI surpasses human intelligence. The more classic definition (after a 1960's novella of the same name by Dino Buzzati), means the merging of tech with humans. Altman blogged about 'The Merge' in 2017. 'Although the merge has already begun, it's going to get a lot weirder. We will be the first species ever to design our own descendants,' he postulated at the time citing research work he saw at OpenAI, where Musk was still a co-founder. San Francisco | REGISTER NOW Musk left OpenAI in 2018 and the relationship between the two tech leaders has since disintegrated. Just this week, Altman and Musk were bickering on X after Altman accused Musk of manipulating X and Musk called Altman a liar. We'll have to wait and see when and if Merge Labs becomes formally announced. But it stands to reason that Altman wasn't going to let Musk work on something as important as the singularity without a challenger. OpenAI could not be immediately reached for comment and declined to comment on FT's report.

Even the battery life is pretty impressive at 30 hours per full charge, even with the always-on display enabled. This gets extended to 40 hours if you turn it off. It's a $99.99 added value, so it's a nice deal if you'll actually take advantage of them. The benefits don't end with aesthetics, though. You'll also get twice the storage, as it comes with 64GB. The frame is made of stainless steel, instead of aluminum, so it will be even sturdier. Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) If you want the best of the best, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra was refreshed in 2025. Its only main competitor is the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which is obviously for Apple users. This means that those who want a premium smartwatch experience on an Android phone have no better option than this one. How is this different than the first Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra? Well, Samsung added a few improvements. For starters, it gets 64GB of storage, which is twice as much as the predecessor. There's also a really nice-looking Titanium Blue color version. It also comes with Wear OS 6 out of the box, in the form of Samsung's One UI 8 software. Otherwise, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 model is pretty much the same, but this isn't a bad thing. It gets a large 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 480 x 480 resolution and 3,000 nits of brightness. It's also more resistant. Aside from the same IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings, it also gets an improved 10ATM certification. This means it can be submerged as deep as 100 meters, which is twice as much as the other Galaxy Watch 8 series. C. Scott Brown / Android Authority As the color names entail, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is also made of titanium, which is better than both aluminum and stainless steel. This material is known for being both light and resistant. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is mainly for those who know they will be a little rougher on their smartwatches. It's better equipped for more torture, or even swimming. The battery life is quite impressive with this one, at 60 hours per charge with Always On Display enabled. Turn off the feature and you'll get 80 hours! It's definitely pricey at $649, though. It's nice to at least get a free $100 gift card! Regardless of which smartwatch you're getting, we can only advise that you act quickly. These free gift offers don't usually last very long after the initial launch, and other similar offers on smartphones released at the same time have already disappeared.
