KarlTzy, Oheb shine as Team Liquid dominates Ultra Legends in MSC opener
Team Liquid, which ruled the MPL Philippines Season 15, imposed their will on the reigning MPL MENA (Middle East and North Africa) champions in their best-of-three affair to move a win away from securing a playoff spot.
Ultra Legends staged a massive resistance during the first lord march late in Game 1, but a crucial pick-off by gold laner Oheb (Granger) on midlaner Omar "Quanok" Ali (Zetian) instigated a four-man wipeout for Team Liquid.
Team Liquid took advantage of four enemy heroes down to draw first blood in the 13-minute duel.
Jungler KarlTzy was named MVP after unleashing seven kills and eight assists against just one death on his comfort hero Lancelot.
Ultra Legends made necessary adjustments in Game 2 after opting to ban Lancelot during the draft phase, but it didn't affect Team Liquid at all as Oheb took care of business in the clincher.
Oheb (Harith) unloaded a maniac during the final clash in Game 2, taking down Quanok (Pharsa), Dark Lord (Phoveus), Rise Crim (Tigreal), and his counterpart Pharaoh (Granger) that led to a total wipeout and the clean victory for Team Liquid.
Oheb had a near spotless KDA after collecting 10 kills and 11 assists against one death to help TLPH make a statement in its tournament opener.

Team Liquid sends Onic Indonesia home to punch MSC Grand Finals ticket
Team Liquid continued its dream run in the 2025 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup, booting Onic Indonesia with a 3-1 win in their heavyweight semifinals showdown on Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Philippine bets now head to the finale showdown against no less than reigning MSC champions Selangor Red Giants (SRG) of Malaysia in a best-of-seven duel on Saturday at 7 p.m. (Manila time). It was a collective effort for the Filipinos with jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno (Hayabusa) and gold laner Kiel "Oheb" Soriano (Harith) both unleashing unblemished KDAs to lead the Game 1 romp. Onic kept Game 2 tight with mid laner SANZ making the most out of his Yve pick, sniping Oheb (Granger) and Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz (Hylos) during the crucial 25th-minute clash that also resulted in two more Team Liquid casualties. But even with only mid laner Alston "Sanji" Pabico left alive, Team Liquid pulled off a gutsy tower lock with the help of the Lord to secure a 2-0 series advantage for the Cavalry. Onic, though, would turn things around in Game 3 after a surprise Estes pick for Kiboy as the Indonesian champions remained alive. Sanji then took over late in Game 4 after his masterful plays on Zhuxin that led to a pivotal five-man wipeout for Onic Indonesia, steering the Philippines to yet another finals stint. "Of course, the number one is the love for the game and having fun, that's the more important thing to me right now. I'm having fun in playing, that's what keeps me motivated," KarlTzy, who has yet to capture an MSC title despite an accomplished professional career, said. "For me, I don't have anything with SRG but I wanna beat coach Arcadia." Team Liquid will now look to dethrone SRG, which earlier eliminated another Philippine representative in Onic Philippines with a nail-biting 3-2 victory. —JKC, GMA Integrated News

Onic PH edges Team Spirit in epic duel to punch MSC semifinals ticket
Duane "Kelra" Pillas proved why he is among the best gold laners in the world as he steered Onic Philippines to a classic 3-1 comeback victory against Team Spirit in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup quarterfinals on Thursday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Kelra, the MSC Finals MVP during Execration's title run in 2021, came through especially in Games 3 and 4 as Onic completed the reversal over Team Spirit to reach the semifinals. The win made Onic the second Philippine team to barge into the Top Four alongside Team Liquid. "At this level of competition, I just revel on that, the termination of both games. I'm quite happy that we have that result, a bit sad for Team Spirit as we all know, they're a very strong team," Onic head coach Tony "Ynot" Senedrin said. "But, yeah, as a coach you need to keep your composure. We need to look forward to the next game. But yeah, that was insane [game]." Team Spirit flexed its drafting brilliance in Game 1, gaining the upper hand from the get-go with KidBomba's Gloo and SAWO's Khufra making life difficult for Onic jungler Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez' Fanny. The Russian club went on sealing the series opener in under 14 minutes with a lopsided 13-2 kill spread thanks to Oneshot's spotless 8/0/3 KDA on Yi Sun-shin. Onic then returned to its old ways in Game 2 with Kelra going for a Wanwan pick and unleashing nine kills and five assists to help the Filipinos level the series. Both teams then went toe-to-toe in a drawn-out Game 3 affair with Team Spirit seizing a golden opportunity to take the Lord objective after three Onic players—exp laner Jann Kirk "Kirk" Guttierez (Cici), mid laner Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez (Luo Yi), and jungler K1NGKONG (Joy)—were taken off the map. Team Spirit, however, decided to push at the top lane instead, allowing Onic to flip the script behind Kelra (Granger). The multi-titled gold laner almost single-handedly led the Onic defense, picking off SunsetLover (Pharsa) and Oneshot (Baxia) before he and roamer Borris "Brusko" Parro finished the game that lasted for 29 minutes and 37 seconds. Still high in spirits, Team Spirit looked like it could drag the game into a Game 5 after shattering all but one of Onic's turrets that enabled them to invade the Philippine bets' base at the 13th minute of Game 4. Onic, though, mounted a massive defensive stand before gradually swinging the momentum in its favor, capped by a Maniac display from Kelra (Granger) that wiped out Team Spirit and sealed a thrilling come-from-behind win. Onic will take on defending MSC champion SRG of Malaysia later at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to the grand finals against either Team Liquid or Onic Indonesia. —JKC, GMA Integrated News
