Using a silicon carbon battery for the Galaxy tri-foldable serves multiple purposes. For starters the battery capacity is reportedly less than 5,000 mAh which is the expected average for Samsung phones nowadays. But if the battery is a silicon carbon one then it can still provide adequate battery life even if it is smaller on paper.
The tri-foldable also needs a better battery because it will require a lot of power in the first place to run its giant display. I think it can be reasonably concluded that because of the power requirements the tri-foldable, even with a silicon carbon battery, will only have a very average battery life.
Silicon carbon batteries are also more durable and that is sure to help for a phone that needs so much juice. New battery tech for Samsung phones has been a long time coming and I really hope that the prototype passes the tests it needs to so that the tri-foldable gets the silicon carbon battery.

It appears that the day so many Samsung fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: the company is ready to use silicon carbon batteries. A very reliable source for Samsung leaks has revealed that the Galaxy tri-foldable smartphone's prototype features a silicon carbon battery instead of the traditional lithium-ion.This Galaxy tri-foldable — which is slated to release later this year — will only see around 200,000 units manufactured initially and will only launch in a select few regions. The reason for this is that it is going to be a very expensive phone and Samsung does not expect to sell too many models.A silicon carbon battery is a battery that can hold more charge than a lithium-ion battery while being the same size. Many phone manufacturers have started using silicon carbon batteries so that they can provide better battery life without making their phones thicker. OnePlus 13 , Vivo X200 Pro and the Xiaomi 15 Pro are just three recent flagship phones with silicon carbon batteries.Samsung has often been mocked for being so slow in adopting newer battery technologies. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra , the company's latest flagship, only charges at 45W while other phones offer up to and over 100W charging speeds. Fans have also been asking when Samsung will use silicon carbon batteries and it seems that the time has finally come.

The new vivo T4 Ultra packs a 3x periscope and Dimensity 9300+ chipset

vivo is adding an Ultra member to the T4 series – what does this phone have to earn this moniker? Well, a telephoto camera for one (the first telemacro in the segment, vivo says) and a surprisingly high-end chipset. vivo T4 Ultra The vivo T4 Ultra is powered by the Dimensity 9300+, which was used in the likes of last year's vivo X100s Pro – one of the top phones from vivo in 2024. The T4 Ultra doesn't have X100s-class cameras, but it certainly has its siblings beat – the T4x from March is powered by a Dimensity 7300 and the T4 from April has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Both feature 50MP main cameras with small sensors (and OIS on the T4) plus 2MP helper cameras. The Ultra packs a 50MP Sony IMX921-based main camera (a 1/1.56' sensor seen in the X200s among others). This is behind an f/1.88 lens with OIS. The star of the show is the 50MP periscope with 3x magnification (f/2.55 lens with OIS) and an IMX882 sensor (1/1.95'). This has a 10x telephoto macro mode and OIS+EIS stabilization for video. Finally, there is an 8MP ultra-wide camera and an Aura Light. The selfie camera is a 32MP unit (f/2.45). The T4 Ultra has the smallest display in the series with a 6.67' diagonal, but it's the best panel yet – a quad-curved 1260p+ OLED with 10-bit colors and 120Hz refresh rate. It can reach up to 5,000 nits peak local brightness, peak global brightness is 1,600 nits. There is an under-display fingerprint reader of the optical variety. The T4 features a massive 7,300mAh battery, the T4x is a step down at 6,500mAh on the T4. The Ultra has the smallest battery in the family with only 5,500mAh capacity. Well, 'only'. That is paired with fast 90W charging, but the same is true of the T4 too. On the plus side, the Ultra is thinner and lighter at 7.43mm and 192g (193g for the Phoenix Gold variant), compared to 8.1mm and 204g on the T4x. And the Ultra has a heavier glass back too, not plastic. However, ingress protection is still middle of the road with an IP64 rating. The Ultra is available in three configurations: 8/256GB, 12/256GB and 12/512GB. This is with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The Dimensity 9300+ is cooled by a 43.62cm² vapor chamber. The phone launches with FuntouchOS 15 (Android 15) and will receive 2 OS updates and a total of 3 years of security patches. vivo T4 Ultra in Phoenix Gold and Meteor Grey The vivo T4 Ultra is manufactured in India and will be available from vivo India, Flipkart and offline retailers. It's on pre-order right now, open sales start on June 18 (Wednesday next week). The pricing is below (with conversion to USD), but note that as a launch day promo you can get a flat ₹3,000 discount and ₹5,000 trade-in bonus with select bank cards. vivo T4 Ultra Price (INR) Price (USD) 8/256GB ₹38,000 $445 12/256GB ₹40,000 $470 12/512GB ₹42,000 $490 vivo T4x vivo T4 5G Source

You still have time to grab the Galaxy S25 with an epic $175 discount

Want to save big on a high-end Samsung phone? The Galaxy S25 is worth checking out right now, as Amazon is giving you a stunning 22% discount on the 128GB variant. $175 off (22%) The Galaxy S25 in Mint remains a hefty $175 off its original price on Amazon. This incredible price cut lands the device at an absolutely irresistible price, especially if you're a Samsung fan. However, we don't think Amazon will keep the sale much longer, so you might want to hurry up if you wish to save. Buy at Amazon If you recall, this promo first dropped on Memorial Day on all colorways. Right now, only the Mint model remains at that epic $175 discount. We don't think it'll stay live much longer, too, precisely because you've got just one 128GB model left at that incredible price had our fair share with this Android phone (check out our Galaxy S25 review for details) and found it significantly more powerful than its predecessor. With a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip inside, this bad boy is an absolute beast when it comes to raw horsepower, not to mention its superb daily experience. While we hoped for an anti-reflective coating on this model (and the Galaxy S25 +), Samsung still keeps this technology exclusive to the Ultra models. Even without this premium extra, the Galaxy S25 display is a joy to look at. Its compact 6.2-inch touchscreen, dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, and excellent color accuracy put it right in line with other flagship devices. Galaxy AI features are abundant here, naturally. You've got an upgraded Circle to Search and a deeper Gemini integration, making everyday tasks even easier. So far, we've established that the Galaxy S25 is a proper compact flagship phone that packs amazing performance, a fantastic display, and multiple AI features. What about its camera? Samsung introduced no upgrades on the camera front, giving you the same hardware found in the Galaxy S24. That's to say, you get the familiar 50MP main, 10MP 3X zoom, and 12MP ultra-wide cameras on the rear. However, the handset employs new processing algorithms to deliver photos with extremely realistic colors and a great dynamic range. All things considered, the Galaxy S25 is a no-brainer in its 128GB Mint variant, especially if you're a Samsung phone fan. It's not every day that you can save a massive $175, and it looks like you won't have much longer to act. So, hurry up and save big with this epic Amazon deal.
