Supriya Sule slammed Air India after her flight was delayed by over three hours, saying such delays were becoming a norm with the airline and that travellers deserved better.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule hit out at Air India after her Delhi-Pune flight was delayed by over three hours, saying that there was no communication or assistance from the airline and urging the Central government to intervene.

Sule said such delays and mismanagement were becoming the norm with Air India and that travellers deserved better. 'Passengers are left stranded and helpless. This apathy is unacceptable. Urging @RamMNK, @MoCA_GoI to intervene and hold the airline accountable."

Flight cancellations and delays have come under intense scrutiny after the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash last week, where 241 passengers were killed, along with 29 others on the ground. The Indian government has initiated a probe into the incident.

Responding to Sule's complaint, Air India said it was addressing the issue. 'Dear Honourable Minister, we acknowledge your concern. Our colleagues are addressing the issue. All impacted passengers are being assisted. We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen delay," it said.

Air India's crisis deepened after last week's crash in Ahmedabad, as its flights have seen a string of flight returns, technical issues, and delays caused by crew duty limits. The airline cancelled seven international flights, including six operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, as part of precautionary checks on its Dreamliner fleet.
Recently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and aviation authorities from India, the UK, and the US have launched a joint investigation and mandated a full inspection of Air India's entire Dreamliner fleet in the aftermath of the Ahmedabad tragedy.

Caught in crossfire, Indians in Iran want to return home
With the Israel-Iran conflict entering its fifth day on Tuesday, Indian citizens – from workers in Israel to students and pilgrims in Iran – caught in the crossfire are distressed, with many desperate to return home. In Israel, Indian nationals engaged at construction sites for the past year are still going to work but are worried about the missile attacks. 'You could be doing your work at the construction site, and when you look up, you either see a missile being intercepted or one being launched. These have become part of our lives,' said Haryana's Dinesh Malik, 38, a construction worker in Rishon LeZion, Israel. Tilak Raj, 40, another construction worker from Haryana, said that on the day of the air strike on Tel Aviv, all he could do was think about his family. 'It felt like the entire place would blow up and all I wanted at that moment was to see my family,' said Mr. Raj. He and other colleagues were all shifted to a site in Or Akiva, almost 50 km from Tel Aviv. But that has not brought him any comfort, for every time he spots a flare in the sky, a chill runs down his spine, and he fears the worst.

Parliamentary panel holds comprehensive discussion on India's Indian Ocean Strategy
New Delhi [India], June 17 (ANI): The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs on Tuesday discussed India's Indian Ocean Strategy including the idea of the Blue Water Navy. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Chairman of Committee Shashi Tharoor said that Operation Sindoor was not discussed, but some of the elements that became apparent during that confrontation came up in conversations. Apart from the members, the meeting was attended by Defence Secretary, Secretary (East) in MEA and Vice Chief of Navy. The agenda of the meeting was 'Evaluation of India's Indian Ocean Strategy' with representatives of the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence to give oral evidence for examination of the subject. Tharoor described the discussion as 'outstanding' and said every one of the committee members present asked questions. 'We had an ongoing subject called India's Indian Ocean Strategy, which is a foreign policy subject that has important defence dimensions. We also had the Defence Secretary and the Navy present to brief us. The discussions were outstanding. We spent more than two-and-a-half hours in serious conversation on various aspects, which you will see in the report submitted to Parliament. We were blessed to have the Vice Chief of the Navy, the Defence Secretary, and the Secretary East of the Ministry of External Affairs. It was a very thorough discussion,' Tharoor said. 'Every single one of the committee members present asked questions... It's a tremendous sense of involvement in this discussion. We'll have a good report coming out of this very comprehensive discussion... All of this (Blue Water Navy) was discussed... The whole idea of the Blue Water Navy, our military capacity beyond that, everything was thoroughly discussed,' he added. The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) had last month hosted the 'Second Blue Talks' in the national capital.
