Fire in your Soul festival will be "alternative to party culture"
Organisers of a festival that will feature yoga classes and ice baths alongside live music say they want to offer an alternative to normal festival party culture.Fire in Your Soul is a new festival which will be held close to Chew Valley Lake in Somerset from 4-6 July.Electronic musician Milly on Air, who will be performing at the festival, said there has been a "need for wellness"."People are more open and embracing wellbeing practices and looking after their mental health and their community's mental health. Wellness doesn't have to be chilled out, it's also about finding joy, celebration and energy," she added.
"The festival is for people like me - who might be having a midlife crisis," Luke Hasell, event organiser, said. "Anyone who wants to be doing better for ourselves and the world."Mr Hasell owns farmland near the lake and planted trees on the site in 2004, which has become known as 'Nature's Spectacular' and will be where the festival will be held."I wanted to make my farm a beacon of hope for the area," Mr Hasell said.Fire in Your Soul is a new festival which was born out of Valley Fest, which Mr Hasell has hosted in recent years."Fire in Your Soul was an area at Valley Fest and it's taken on its own life. I want it to be a more boutique, relaxed event," Mr Hasell added.
Milly on Air added: "Music has always been healing and it has the ability to process emotion and experience a connection to something bigger than you."Playing to a crowd where the crowd are conscious and more sober, it's such a powerful experience. People weren't clouded by substances, their connection to the music felt really intense. I felt a real connection with the crowd."Alongside a music programme, the festival will offer yoga workshops, breathwork sessions and ice baths.In the evenings, chef Simon Dyer will make seasonal, zero-waste meals and there will also be live poetry sessions.

Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa, actress Dame Judi Dench and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai have added their names to an open letter urging the Prime Minister to suspend arms sales to Israel. The trio are among a number of celebrities who have added their signatories to the letter, published by refugee charity Choose Love last month, and already signed by stars including Dua Lipa and Benedict Cumberbatch. Some 400 people have now signed the letter, with the new signatories including actors Stanley Tucci and Florence Pugh, former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw and musicians Paul Weller and Self Esteem. As well as suspending UK arms sales to Israel, the letter calls on Sir Keir Starmer to 'use all available means' to ensure humanitarian aid gets in to the territory. It also urges the Prime Minister to 'make a commitment to the children of Gaza' that he would broker an 'immediate and permanent ceasefire'. Josie Naughton, CEO of Choose Love, said: 'Since we urged the Government to end its complicity in the horrors of Gaza, more people have added their voice to our call. 'We cannot be silent while children are being killed and families are being starved.' Following publication of the initial letter in May, Choose Love staged a vigil outside Parliament in which a number of signatories read out the names of 15,613 children killed in Gaza. Ministers have already suspended licences for some arms sales to Israel but activists have demanded that the Government goes further, imposing a total ban including on parts for the F-35 jet. But the Government has said halting the export of spare F-35 parts is not possible as the UK is part of a global supply network and cannot control where those parts end up. Last week, the Government also sanctioned two Israeli ministers it accused of 'inciting violence against Palestinian people' and 'encouraging egregious abuses of human rights'. Ms Naughton added: 'The situation is changing by the second, but until the UK Government has halted all arms sales and licences to Israel, ensured that humanitarian aid can reach people starving inside Gaza and stopped the killing, they will not have done enough.' A Government spokesperson said: 'We strongly oppose the expansion of military operations in Gaza and call on the Israeli Government to cease its offensive and immediately allow for unfettered access to humanitarian aid.' 'The denial of essential humanitarian assistance to the civilian population in Gaza is unacceptable and risks breaching international humanitarian law.' 'Last year, we suspended export licences to Israel for items used in military operations in Gaza and continue to refuse licences for military goods that could be used by Israel in the current conflict.' 'We urge all parties to urgently agree a ceasefire agreement and work towards a permanent and sustainable peace.'

RAY Winstone has reignited his ongoing feud with Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson - branding him "very rude" and "up his own a**e". The actor, 68, has had a 20-year feud with the Hollywood A-lister after the pair worked together on the Oscar-winning film The Departed back in 2006. 4 4 Ray appeared on Eamonn Holmes and Paul Coyte's podcast Things We Like with Eamonn & Paul, where discussed his feud with the star. Eamonn asked Ray if he liked Jack, to which the Sexy Beast actor replied: "No. We just didn't get on. I just found him... Listen, he's getting older, and maybe there are a lot of things going on with him. "I didn't like him, I thought he was so far up his own a**e it was unbelievable. And he was very rude. "He was very rude to me, he was rude to my wife, if he had been a younger man, I'd have definitely knocked him out." Despite not seeing eye-to-eye, Ray praised his talent in the industry. He said: "But you've got to give him because he's an older man, much older than me. "He's fantastic at what he does, brilliant at what he does. He's a great writer as well, by all accounts, at least that's what he kept telling us.' "But at the same time, I can't make an excuse for him. My grandfather was an old man, but he was a gentleman. He was a lovely man. 'So f**k him, basically. Really. Why should I say I like him? I don't. You ask me the question, you get the answer." The pair both starred in Martin Scorsese's Oscar -award winning movie about a mob boss. Ray has previously addressed his feud with Jack back in 2014 at the BAFTA Life In Pictures event in 2014. He said: "Me and Jack did not seem to get on too well. Maybe he was going through a funny time. "Everyone else loves him to death – I just wanted him to be a great guy. We just did not click." Ray later admitted that he had no idea why Jack did not warm to him and he admitted he disliked stars who were "arrogant". 'It doesn't worry me. It doesn't shock me. You clash a little bit. He's not the first person I've clashed with. He won't be the last," he said in an interview with The Independent. "I don't like arrogance. There's no need for it. This kind of feeling of being above everyone else. "We all end up in the same hole in the ground. "But some people have this smarmy little side mouth.... And there are different ways of dealing with that. "You either say your piece and tell them to shut the f**k up. Or you punch them in the mouth." Although they may have clashed, Ray insisted he would work with Jack again if the opportunity arose. He added: "Of course I want to work with him again! He's a fantastic actor." 4
