Heat Fans Happy After LeBron James Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Just when Miami Heat fans were starting to lose hope about the team making a splashy addition this offseason, a new LeBron James development has emerged.

The Heat had a brutal end to their season this year, as they became the first No. 10 seed in NBA history to make the playoffs, only to be on the wrong end of the NBA's most lopsided series in playoff history.
With some star power needed, the Heat then emerged as the favorites to land Kevin Durant, giving fans optimism for next season, only to be outbid by the Houston Rockets.
With pressure mounting on team president Pat Riley to make something happen, the perfect opportunity may have fallen right into his lap. According to a bombshell report by ESPN's Shams Charania, the 40-year-old four-time MVP (James) is "closely monitoring the Lakers' moves" this offseason after exercising his $52.6 million player option.
James' agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that contending for a title is James' priority at this time, but alluded to the fact that the Lakers could be building for the future after trading for Luka Doncic.

Following this report, which also revealed that James was spotted in Miami recently, Heat fans have begun hoping for a reunion.

"Going to need @kevinlove to get on the phone and tamper hard with LeBron James RIGHT NOW," wrote one fan.
"This would actually be very cool," said a second.
"So LeBron James say his wife and him miss Miami the City so he miss being in Miami," speculated another.
While it's unclear what the Heat are willing to give up for the aging four-time MVP, he has shown that he is still among the best players in the league.
This past season, he averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists, earning him a second-team All-NBA selection. James also has a no-trade clause, which means he would have to give his approval for the trade as well.

Regardless, Heat fans are on hyper alert again this offseason. In his four seasons with Miami in 2010-14, James won two titles and two MVPs.

Valkyries Make Stunning Announcement After Stephen Curry Appearance

Valkyries Make Stunning Announcement After Stephen Curry Appearance originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Of all the very impressive numbers that the Valkyries have put up as the first month-and-a-half of their existence comes to a close, perhaps the most stunning of all is this: 180,640. Advertisement That's the team's attendance through 10 homes games, and it is significant for a few reasons. For one thing, it is the highest attendance of any team in the WNBA, and by a significant margin. For another thing, the Valkyries' sellout number is 18,064, which means that all 10 games were sellouts. In fact, according to the season low for attendance at the Chase Center for the Valkyries is 18,064, the same as the season high for attendance. In fact, the team posted on social media on Sunday, which saw another sellout crowd, "Tell your friends," with a graphic pointing out that Golden State is now 10-for-10 in sellouts at home. And they're rewarding their fans. After a 2-5 start, as might be expected of an expansion team, the Valkyries have gone 7-2 in their last nine games, walloping Seattle on Sunday night, 84-57. The Valkyries got 21 points from Tiffany Hayes, but got their usual all-around effort from all over the roster, with nine players logging at least 15 minutes. Advertisement The game was notable not only for the performance on the court but for the electric atmosphere in the building. Regular Valkyries fan Brandin Podziemski of the Warriors was in attendance, but he brought a friend--yes, Stephen Curry was in the building, too. The team's merch has been as much a success as ticket sales. 'To build something just as powerful, not underneath that, was the task,' team president Jess Smith told the San Francisco Chronicle. 'What does the Bay Area want? What will make them rabid fans? They want something powerful, that's how they show up. They expect you to be bold and make big decisions.' Advertisement So far, so good. Shedeur Sanders on recruiting trail for Deion? Colorado Legend makes appearance at OT7 Finals

Shedeur Sanders on recruiting trail for Deion? Colorado Legend makes appearance at OT7 Finals originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With the NFL preseason in a dead period before training camp, Shedeur Sanders has a lot of time on his hands. The former Colorado quarterback made headlines for back-to-back speeding tickets in Cleveland, but he also made a pop-up appearance as a coach at the OT7 Camp in Miami this weekend. Sanders joined Robert Griffin III out on the field in front of some of the nation's top rising talent, including a few Colorado targets and commits. The public appearance begs the question if he was there to seal a few deals on behalf of his father? One of the Buffs biggest targets has been Alabama five-star receiver Cederian Morgan. Who better than Sanders to set the record straight on QB play at Colorado? CU Buffs Morgan is expected to announce his commitment this week and has Coach Prime and the Buffs on his final list. He recently made a surprise visit to Boulder and even commented on why Colorado is a worthy contender. 'Just how Coach Prime carries himself and you know, the way he carries his team and the standard that he set that is great to me,' Morgan said. 'I feel like he is building a very special program." Advertisement Shedeur brings a level of star power with him and has carried a steady recruiting hand with him throughout his playing career. The 'Grown' QB was mostly responsible for flipping Travis Hunter from Florida State to Jackson State. It started with a series of conversations and ended in a successful Heisman win last year at Colorado. Sanders was even instrumental in getting Julian Lewis at Colorado. The two signal-callers bonded over football and the idea of the highly-touted five-star being the heir apparent quarterback to take over in Boulder. CU Buffs If Sanders was on hand to convince Morgan, four-star receiver Jordan Clay, or a handful of others why Colorado is best, that's a next-level approach and outstanding tactic that should be used more often. If Morgan commits to Colorado, it would be one of the biggest wins and the addition of another five-star to the roster. Former Dodgers World Series Champion Lands a Deal With Divisional Rival on Sunday

Former Dodgers World Series Champion Lands a Deal With Divisional Rival on Sunday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Los Angeles Dodgers turn towards younger prospects while continuing their pursuit of repeating as World Series champions in 2025, some well-known names haven't been with the team this season. Advertisement Former Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes was given the unfortunate news that Los Angeles was moving on from him on May 14, as he was released alongside Chris Taylor in a week's span. Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes (15) celebrates with designated hitter Chris Taylor (3) after scoring in the fifth inning as Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner (40) reacts at Dodger Lee-Imagn Images Los Angeles called up 2022 second-round pick Dalton Rushing earlier this season, showing that manager Dave Roberts was in pursuit of a different option at the catching position. All-Star Will Smith has a secure position on the roster with his $140 million contract, so Austin Barnes, who was the guy on the hot seat, was let go to make Rushing the replacement for a struggling Barnes moving forward. Austin Barnes would then take on free agency, and after over a month of searching for a new team to land on, it's been announced that the two-time World Series champion signed a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants on Sunday night. After serving his entire 11-year career with the Dodgers, Barnes will continue his baseball journey with Los Angeles' division rival. Advertisement Although Barnes sigend a minor league deal, he wil start with the Giants' Arizona Complex League team to get back into playing shape. He will likely be inserted into the Giants' 40-man roster sometime this season and provide depth for them in a struggling catcher position. The two catchers the Giants have on roster, Patrick Bailey and Andrew Knizner, have both been struggling to find a groove this 2025 season. Bailey currently has a .194 BA and Knizner has a .103 BA, so Austin Barnes will likely have a chance at appearing on the 40-man roster sometime within the season. In the 42 at-bats Barnes appeared in for the Dodgers this season, he posted a .214 BA, .233 OBP, .286 SLG, and a .518 OPS while hitting two RBI.
