The delegation discussed 4 specific areas of collaboration with the officials of the University, including sports curriculum development from academic perspective with specific emphasis on faculty and student exchange, development of sports coaches, sports events management and podium strategy for specific sports in the state.
The delegation also invited the officials to visit Gujarat to study the sports ecosystem and evaluate the possibility of opening a city campus in Ahmedabad.
The delegation members also visited the O2 Arena and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to understand various multi-use options for sports infrastructure facilities, including promotion of 'concert economy towards creating economic impact of live music events, including concerts and festivals.
The delegation also studies various sustainability features used in the design of sports infrastructure at these facilities.
The meeting is a part of ongoing efforts to deepen understanding around the Commonwealth Games 2030 bid framework.
The delegation also constituted representatives from Commonwealth Games Association India and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, according to a release from the HM Office, Gujarat.
The proposals are expected to be submitted by August 31, and a decision on the selection of the host city shall be made by Commonwealth Sport in November. (ANI)

BCCI introduces serious injury substitute rule after Rishabh Pants injury
New Delhi [India], August 16 (ANI): In a significant step towards player safety, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a serious injury replacement substitute rule in domestic cricket. The regulation, aimed at ensuring players do not risk aggravating injuries, will come into force from the Duleep Trophy starting August 28, which also marks the beginning of the 2025-26 season. The rule will also apply to the Ranji Trophy, India's premier first-class competition, as per this rule, teams will be allowed to bring in a non-playing squad member as a like-for-like replacement, provided the injury is deemed serious. The final approval will rest with the match referee, after the team concerned submits a medical report confirming the nature of the injury. Importantly, the rule only covers injuries sustained during the match and those of an external nature, for example, a fracture or a deep cut caused by an impact rather than internal issues such as a hamstring idea gathered momentum after Rishabh Pant famously batted with a fractured foot against England in Manchester earlier this year. According to the BCCI's regulation, the replacement player must be from the list of substitutes named at the in the case where the wicketkeeper is seriously injured and needs to be replaced, then the match referee may allow a wicketkeeper from a player outside the nominated substitutes if there is no wicketkeeper in the nominated the injured player and the replacement will be considered to have officially played in the match for records and this change, Indian domestic cricket will now act as a testing ground for what could eventually become a global regulation. The Gulbarga Mystics snapped out of a two-match losing streak and scripted the Lions' fourth consecutive loss, according to a release from the Lions were set up by Dhruv Prabhakar's crucial knock of 44 runs in 27 balls, before rain curtailed their innings at 127/5 in 15.5 overs.
