Premier League legend Eidur Gudjohnsen's son Daniel, 19, lined up for shock transfer to Championship promotion chasers
Blades sent their top spy to check out the teenage hotshot — son of Chelsea hero Eidur — for Swedish side Malmo in a Champions League qualifier last week.

Gudjohnsen, 19, is fancied to move on, with England a favoured destination.
The Gudjohnsen family have a strong football heritage, with Daniel's grandad Arnor earning 73 caps for Iceland.
Eidur won back-to-back Premier League titles with Chelsea as well as La Liga and the Champions League with Barcelona.
The three sons of Eidur are following in his footsteps.
Daniel's older brother Andri, 23, plays as a centre forward for Belgian Pro League club Gent and the Iceland national team.
The eldest, Sveinn, 27, plays as a forward for Norwegian club Sarpsborg as well as his country.
Daniel has been capped by Iceland's youth sides, but has not yet received a senior call-up.
His youth career spanned Gava, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Malmo.
He made his first-team debut for Malmo in 2023 and On 1 December last year he scored a hat-trick in a 5–2 win over Torslanda IK in the second round of the Swedish Cup.
In June 2002, Eidur was signed by the Blues for £4.5 million and was the second striker signed that pre-season after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Chloe Kelly had her name up in lights as she scored the winning penalty for the Lionesses but the England women's star has been called cocky by the Spanish media England hero Chloe Kelly has been labelled "cocky" by the Spanish media as her celebrations are criticised. The Arsenal winger smashed home the winning penalty to deliver Euros success for the Lionesses. It was the second time in succession they've claimed European glory but Kelly's antics have not gone down well with foreign media. They claim that her celebration in front of La Roja stopper Cata Coll was "unnecessary". They say that Kelly, who scored the winner in England's 2022 Euros final win over Germany, diverted her path after scoring from 12 yards and made a gesture in front of the keeper, as is claimed by Spanish outlet Dario AS. They wrote: "This is unnecessary, my friend: Kelly's cocky gesture to Cata Coll after scoring the decisive penalty. The England specialist changed her run during her penalty celebration to get past the goalkeeper she had just beaten." It comes after Kelly made a b-line for the England supporters in the corner, but that was described as "cocky" and uncalled-for. Kelly came off the bench for the Euros final and produced some historic contributions. Ajax star makes feelings clear amid 'difficult' transfer negotiations with Chelsea
Chelsea are keen to sign a new left-back to challenge Marc Cucurella and have opened talks with Ajax to sign 19-year-old star Jorrel Hato, who sat out of their game on Sunday Jorrel Hato asked to be left out of Ajax's friendly against Como on the weekend because he's in negotiations to join Chelsea. Hato has been eyed by a number of Premier League sides this summer after catching the eye of scouts and Chelsea are in pole position to sign him. The 19-year-old defender, who can play at centre-back and left-back, has already made 111 appearances for the Dutch giants. He still has three years left on his contract with Ajax, but it now seems likely he will leave this summer. Liverpool and Arsenal have both been credited with interest in the youngster whose versatility and experience make him an attractive prospect. Ajax are braced for his exit after Hato made it clear to head coach John Heitinga that he would rather not play against on Sunday. That's according to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, who report that negotiations with Chelsea remain 'difficult' despite the player's desire to leave. Ajax are understood to be seeking a fee of between €55-60million (£48m-£52.5m) for Hato, while Chelsea are aiming for a figure closer to £40m. Hato has now missed two straight pre-season matches for Ajax, having also sat out of the previous game against Celtic. Heitinga had claimed his first absence was due to a lack of match fitness, but it is clear that more is going on. Chelsea want a left-back to challenge Marc Cucurella, with Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga and Ishe Samuels-Smith all leaving this summer. They opened negotiations for the 2024/25 Eredivisie Talent of the Season last week and are hoping to progress them this week. 'Yes, the club [Chelsea] have contacted Ajax,' Hato's agent Humphry Nijman told De Telegraaf on Wednesday. Hato appears to have changed his tune over the past month, having previously declared himself to be 'at home' in Amsterdam. He played 50 times last season as Ajax came up just short of rivals PSV Eindhoven in the league and appeared determined to kick on. 'The smartest thing is to look ahead to pre-season, that's what I do,' Hato told the club website. 'Of course you want to achieve things in the end: the Champions League, a World Cup and a European Championship, I still have plenty of time. I don't think I absolutely have to win the Champions League in two years. 'In the Dutch league, you have to show how good you are against the big clubs. Ultimately, I have to continue to develop the things I am already good at, so that it becomes top. How do I describe my time at Ajax? Ajax is home for me. I just feel at home here.'
