'I found out I was ranked below Jake Paul... I was disgusted!'

Undefeated star Craig Parker has hit out at Paul after he was placed below the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the latest WBA cruiserweight rankings
The only boxer ranked below Jake Paul has expressed his disgust after the YouTuber-turned-boxer was placed above him in the latest WBA cruiserweight rankings.
Paul, 28, returned to the ring last weekend for the first time since defeating heavyweight legend Mike Tyson last November. The 'Problem Child' faced off against former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a cruiserweight showdown in Anaheim. The former middleweight champion appeared to be a mere shadow of his former self, with his lack of activity in the ring clearly affecting his performance.

From the get-go, Paul dominated the fight before eventually securing a victory on points. Immediately after the match, the YouTuber-turned-boxer challenged several big names in the sport, including Anthony Joshua, Gilberto Ramirez, Badou Jack and Gervonta Davis.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Paul had been placed in the top 15 and now finds himself five spots below ex-world champion Chris Billam-Smith. The only fighter ranked below the 'Problem Child' is undefeated sensation Craig Parker, who boasts an impressive record of 20-0 - all wins by knockout, reports All Out Fighting.

Understandably, the American was livid following the update. In a chat with All Out Fighting, Parker shared his immediate reaction to the news. "I was getting up in the morning and the first thing I saw that popped up on my news feed was 'Jake Paul ranked No. 14 in the WBA.' I said 'that cannot be true?' Because I am ranked 14th by the WBA. It really felt like a low blow and a slap to the face. I really felt disgusted," an irate Parker expressed.
"My recognition, my hard work... all of that stuff I have been doing over the years... sleeping on couches, getting up and running in the cold, running in the heat in the snow and the rain. Listen, we appreciate Jake Paul, the eyes that Jake Paul brings to boxing. We appreciate his platform from YouTube and then bringing celebrities to fight each other in the square ring. We really enjoy that.

"But him being a boxer now? Him calling himself a 'boxer' and a 'solidified boxer'... no! He has not laid any ground work. He has not done nothing that we have had to endure to become what we are today. And to move me down and to put me at number 14, it was disgraceful. It was very hurtful. I was like 'if this is what God has got planned... because God does not make mistakes. If this is what God has planned, well this is what God has planned.'
"But I know, Jake Paul has knocked on the wrong door and that is the door of Craig Parker. I am looking forward to hearing a call or hearing something back from him and let him know 'listen if you want to be solidified in boxing... you knocked on the wrong door this time.' But I am going to open it up and invite you in. Again, I felt disrespected. And I guess the guys who are working hard that are under me and above me felt disrespected too because we come from humble beginnings."

He added: "For this guy (Paul) to come in and be recognised in the WBA by a sanctioned body and then turn around and talking about fighting for a world title... he is nowhere close to even thinking about being a world champion." The top American cruiserweight contender, eager to get back in the ring this September, is ready to face off with the social media sensation.
The 34-year-old last stepped into the ring in April, delivering a devastating knockout to Phillip Penson. Parker's upcoming fight, scheduled in the UK, aims to elevate his international standing and ascend the rankings. Focused on his upcoming dust-up later this year, with an opponent yet to be confirmed, the fighter is determined to take down the 'Problem Child' in the near future.
Parker exuded confidence when discussing a potential bout with Jake Paul, stating: "Four rounds. I have got to give him a couple of rounds because he is going to be in shape. But if I hit him in the chin, maybe the first round. But all the stuff with Jake Paul has come to a point where he knocked on my door... and I am ready to end the whole Jake Paul shenanigans. He has been putting out a lot of crap and I am ready to flush it. I am ready to end it all. If he wants to continue to box after me and him... if he is able to or if he wants to, that is all up to him. He can choose his own destiny."

Parker didn't hold back in his assessment of Paul's boxing career, adding: "I believe it can happen and if he really wants to say he is a cruiserweight... because you have got to understand. Look who he is calling out! Anthony Joshua, Gervonta Davis, but when he fought a real cruiserweight, light-heavyweight... Tommy Fury is really a light-heavyweight. When he really fought a light-heavyweight, he got beat. Then, he goes to cruiserweight and he calls out Tommy Fury that probably is not a cruiserweight... but he is going to get beat again!".
"Because he is not a real fighter. It takes a lot of hard work for this. Some of us have got to work a job and then go to the gym. Some of us have no way to get to the gym. We are walking, we are running. Some of us going to the gym on an empty stomach. We put in hours, we put in blood, sweat and tears on the canvas through sparring, through fights.
"If he is ready to do everything to call himself that... can he? Yeah, if he has got the will and the desire and the dedication... can he do it? We never know what anybody's future is. But today, nowhere near close." After delivering a fiery tirade, Parker issued a final challenge to his adversary, expressing his eagerness to confront the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the ring. "You knocked on the door. I am inviting you in and I am ready to end it all. This is the end of Jake Paul's career."

Khamzat Chimaev strips naked to make weight for Dricus Du Plessis fight

Khamzat Chimaev has lost 37lb in the last three months as he prepares to face Dricus Du Plessis for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 319 on Saturday night Khamzat Chimaev has completed a near 40lb body transformation, weighing in for his middleweight title fight against Dricus Du Plessis on Saturday night. ‌ Chimaev is set to challenge defending champion Du Plessis at UFC 319 in Chicago this Saturday night. After being required to strip naked, the Russian successfully weighed in on Friday at 183lb, a staggering 37lb lighter than when he began training camp for the most significant fight of his career. ‌ "When he fought Whittaker he just took him down and broke him" said Chimaev's friend and training partner Movsar Evloev on the Overdogs podcast. "Nobody had done this against Whittaker, and Khamzat still has big power of punching, he can turn off your lights with one punch. ‌ "I think he's even bigger than Du Plessis, of course he is; he's big and strong as hell. I don't know how much in pounds, but he was more than 100kg (220lb)." Later, champion Du Plessis weighed in at the limit of 185lb as he gears up to defend his belt for the third time, a title he won from Sean Strickland last year, reports All Out Fighting. Chimaev has competed just four times in the past three years, with his most recent bout occurring last October when he finished Robert Whittaker in the opening round. The champion has issued a stark warning ahead of their clash. "You can be the biggest asshole in the world or the nicest guy in the world, I'm still going out there to try and kill you. People want to see the two best fighters in the world go at it, and it's why this fight is so big," Du Plessis said. "A lot of times it's not possible to get the two best guys [to fight], because one is injured and sometimes the two best guys in the world don't want to fight each other. Because it's tough and there can be only one winner. I want to fight the best in the world, and now people can see it." Reflecting on their recent face-off, Du Plessis continued: "There was nothing but respect. He said to me that he's happy that I'm healthy and ready to go, and I said to him, 'right back at you.' It doesn't always have to be that hostile, but when the cage closes, I'm in there to kill him. "I'm better than him in every single aspect. I'm built different and I'm the champion for a reason and he's gonna find out on Saturday night. The goal always remains the same: to be the greatest ever do this sport."

Anthony Joshua would KO Jake Paul with ease but that doesn't make fight dangerous for YouTube star, claims David Haye

YouTube prankster-turned-prizefighter Paul and two-time heavyweight champion AJ are in talks for a controversial bout next year. Joshua, 35, brutally knocked out ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, 38, in two rounds of their crossover clash in Riyadh in March 2024. A year earlier, Paul, 28, suffered his first and so far only loss in the ring against Tommy Fury, 26, via split-decision. He has since improved to 12-1 and earned himself a 14th ranked place in the WBA's cruiserweight rankings after beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. READ MORE IN BOXING A FUR THING Itauma 'more impressive than Joshua and Fury' and must become world champion But moving up to heavyweight to fight AJ - who stands 6ft 6in and 18 STONE - is seen as a dangerous suicide mission amongst almost all fans. But, former cruiserweight and heavyweight champ Haye reckons it will be painless for Paul and over before he even knows it. The HighBet ambassador told SunSport: "I don't think it's dangerous at all! It doesn't give you brain damage. 4 CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "Even Ngannou, how much damage did the AJ fight do to Ngannou? And Ngannou is a lot bigger and stronger than Jake Paul. "He just knocked him out, he just turned his lights out once, that was it. Well put him down once, put him down again. Itauma told 'anything other than becoming world champion is a failure' with Brit 'more impressive than Joshua and Fury' "He had maybe a headache the next day, but there was no damage done, so I think it's actually quite a safe fight because it'll be over very, very fast." Paul did fight at heavyweight last November when Mike Tyson came out of retirement at the age of 58 - losing over eight shorter two-minute rounds. The American bulked up to 227lb (16st 2lb) and admitted to struggling to even RUN due to the weight gain. He moved back down to the 200lb cruiserweight limit of 14st 4lb in June when he beat ex-middleweight champ Chavez Jr, 39, over ten rounds. That is FOUR STONE lighter than Joshua - who is yet to return since his KO loss to Daniel Dubois last September. Talks with his promoter Eddie Hearn and Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian have continued - including a one-hour meeting in person. Hearn has even labelled the negotiations "advanced" and believes Paul is now the frontrunner for AJ's next opponent. The fight is likely to fall in 2026 with America, Britain and Saudi all potential hosts.

David Martindale hailed as ‘great manager' after signing new Livingston deal

Livingston owner Calvin Ford described David Martindale as 'one of the great managers in Scottish football' after the Lions boss signed a new contract. Martindale has committed his future to Livi until the summer of 2027 with the option for a further season open to both parties. The 51-year-old initially joined Livi as a volunteer coach in 2014 and took over as manager in 2020, making him the longest-serving manager in the William Hill Premiership. Chairman Ford, who purchased a majority stake in the club in May, said: 'David Martindale has left an indelible mark on the recent chapter of the history of Livingston FC. 'Despite multiple challenges over the past several years, Davie's commitment to the club – including promoting back to the Premiership after just a single year in the Championship – have only further cemented his legacy as one of the great managers in Scottish football.' The American added: 'As we move into this next chapter at Livingston, there is only one man properly suited to lead us forward, and that's Davie. 'His unwavering commitment to the club, his partnership with and mentorship to his players, and his love and tireless work ethic of the game make this an easy decision. 'We are thrilled to have Davie leading us on the pitch as we look to make Livingston a threat in Scotland and beyond.' Martindale revealed earlier this week that he was considering leaving the club in the summer if he secured promotion, but had been 'rejuvenated' by the arrival of Ford, which has allowed him to focus on football. After signing the deal, Martindale said: 'I knew when Calvin and the board made it known that they would like me to remain at Livingston, there was only going to be one outcome. 'During the previous seasons it had been very hard for us all at the club and I will remain forever grateful to Dave Black, John Ward and John McIlvogue for allowing me the opportunity to try and take the club back to the Premiership. 'I did have it in my head that if we could take the club back to the Premiership, it would probably be my last season with Livingston and allow me to leave the club in the best position possible. 'But when Calvin and his team came in, it gave everyone at the club a massive lift and the more we all spoke and worked together, the more my appetite grew to be part of this – so long as they felt that they wanted me remain at Livingston. 'So when Calvin and the board got in touch and intimated that they would like me to stay at the club, it was a very easy decision and a very easy process.' Meanwhile, Martindale is facing some selection issues in defence when his side host Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup second round on Sunday. Daniel Finlayson was missing for last weekend's win over Falkirk and fellow full-back Cammy Kerr is a long-term absentee. Left-back Adam Montgomery and centre-back Danny Wilson both went off with muscle injuries during the game, while midfielder Graham Carey was also forced off.
