The Oscar nominee was joined by a cast of bridesmaids to toast the bride with an original song to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso.' Grande's ability to sing off-key went viral on social media, leading the cast to bring back the sketch format twice more during the season — once for Charli XCX's episode and a third time during the 50th Anniversary special, featuring Carpenter herself. 'Domingo: Babymoon' was the second-most watched sketch of the season. Another sketch from the 'Thank U, Next' singer that was third most-watched overall was 'Castrati,' in which she plays a young boy who is castrated at eight or nine years old to preserve his falsetto singing voice. Her face of general disgust and horror as Antonio became a meme on social media, gaining traction for the sketch across platforms. Several of Timothée Chalamet's performances also cracked the Top 10 most-watched sketches, including his performance as a barista-in-training and a bungee workout instructor. Harris Yulin, prolific actor known for ‘Scarface,' ‘Training Day' and ‘Frasier,' dies at 87
Harris Yulin, the veteran stage and screen actor whose career notably included roles in 'Scarface,' 'Training Day' and 'Ghostbusters II,' has died. He was 87. Yulin died Tuesday of cardiac arrest in New York, his manager Sue Leibman and his family confirmed in a statement to The Times on Thursday. He was 'part of the vanguard of a generation who cared passionately about the craft of acting — this deep, lifelong dedication led to extraordinary, resonant performances that were a gift to audiences, the actors he worked with, and the art of acting itself,' said the statement, which also remembered the Los Angeles native as an 'avid birder and lover of the sea.' Born Nov. 5, 1937, Yulin enjoyed a varied screen acting career that spanned multiple decades and spawned more than 100 credits, according to IMDb. In film he portrayed a corrupt Los Angeles official in cahoots with Denzel Washington's immoral narcotics officer in 'Training Day,' a dismissive judge who oversees the court case against the supernatural sleuths in 'Ghostbusters II,' and a detective interested in doing business with Al Pacino's Tony Montana in 'Scarface.' Yulin counted numerous TV series among his credits, including 'WIOU,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' '24,' 'Nikita' and 'Veep.' In the final decade of his life, he also appeared in Netflix series 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' and 'Ozark.' In 1996 he earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for guest actor in a comedy for his appearance as crime boss Jerome Belasco in the hit NBC series 'Frasier.' Beyond TV and film, Yulin pursued a prolific career on stage with included Broadway productions of 'Hedda Gabler,' 'The Price,' 'The Visit,' and 'Watch on the Rhine' and off-Broadway shows of 'Hamlet,' 'Arts and Leisure' and 'Rain Dance.' Throughout his career, Yulin brought his talents to the Court Theater and Goodman Theater in Chicago, the Gate Theatre in Dublin and the Bay Street Theater in New York. Yulin was also a stage director who oversaw productions of several plays, including 'The Glass Menagerie,' 'The Trip to Bountiful,' 'This Lime Tree Bower,' 'Men's Lives' and 'The Man Who Came to Dinner.' Yule was also an instructor who taught at Juilliard, Columbia University and at HB Studio. He continued working on new projects up until his death, including the MGM+ series 'American Classic,' starring Kevin Kline, Laura Linney and Jon Tenney. Deadline reported that the series began production on the East Coast and Yulin was preparing to begin shooting his role this week. His role will be recast. Series co-creator and executive producer Michael Hoffman mourned Yulin in a statement:'[He] was very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered.' Hoffman, who worked with Yulin on the 2005 film 'Game 6,' added: 'His marriage of immense technique with an always fresh sense of discovery, gave his work an immediacy and vitality and purity I've experienced nowhere else,' Hoffman said. 'And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at 'American Classic' have been blessed by our experience with him. He will always remain the beating heart of our show.' Yulin is survived by his wife Kristen Lowman, son-in-law Ted Mineo, nephew Martin Crane and godchildren Marco and Lara Greenberg. Heston Blumenthal recalls moment police came to section him at his home
Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal has opened up about the moment police came to his house to section him in November 2023 after his wife of eight months feared he was a danger to himself. The 59-year-old was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and spent two weeks in a psychiatric hospital with 'grey walls, concrete floors, a metal bed with a PVC mattress and no sheets on it', before being transferred to a clinic for a further six weeks of intense psychiatry sessions. Blumenthal's intervention came following months of manic behaviour, which saw him talk at speed for hours without pausing. The chef became obsessed with Newton and Einstein's theories of evolution and barely slept. He believed the television was talking to him and hallucinated images, sound and touch. It was after Blumenthal saw a gun on the table in front of him, drew a picture of it, and showed his wife, Melanie Ceysson, that she called the mayor in their village in Provence, France, for help. Speaking to The Times, Blumenthal said he did think it was strange when he spotted a policeman at the back of his house. 'But I also thought, 'He seems like a really nice man,'' he reflected. 'So he came in, we sat down on the sofa and I showed him my OBE and my coat of arms. 'I was not thinking, 'What the f*** is a policeman doing in my home?' ' Shortly afterwards, a second police officer arrived at the front door and was followed by five firefighters and a doctor, who told Blumenthal they were taking him to hospital. 'I started to fight them, but they pinned me down on the sofa, two on each arm and one at the front,' he said. 'And then I saw, out of the corner of my eye, the man in the white coat pulling out a big syringe and I thought, 'Just let it go.' ' Nineteen months on, Blumenthal is still heavily medicated and has just begun to feel comfortable travelling alone between Marseilles airport and London Heathrow. 'I'm still bad in crowds though,' he says. 'I have so much fear and anxiety now – about everything. I had no fear before.' Bipolar disorder is often broken down into types and subtypes – such as bipolar I, bipolar II, rapid cycling and cyclothymia. Type 1 bipolar, the kind that Blumenthal has, is characterised by at least one manic episode, with many individuals also experiencing depressive episodes.
