Ariana Grande's Jennifer Coolidge Impression Wasn't the Most-Watched ‘SNL' Sketch of the Season, This Recurring Character Was
After a historic year for 'Saturday Night Live,' the comedy series ranked their most viral sketches from Season 50, and Ariana Grande's performances came out on top.
The 'Wicked' star made her presence known at Studio 8H during her press tour for the blockbuster, with three of her sketches cracking the top five most-watched performances of the season.
The pop singer's Jennifer Coolidge impression came in as the 4th most-watched sketch of the season. Grande and Chloe Fineman mirrored their impressions of the 'White Lotus' star as they tested out Maybelline's latest lip product.
But the recurring sketch that dominated the season was another one of Grande's: 'Domingo.' The Oscar nominee was joined by a cast of bridesmaids to toast the bride with an original song to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso.'
Grande's ability to sing off-key went viral on social media, leading the cast to bring back the sketch format twice more during the season — once for Charli XCX's episode and a third time during the 50th Anniversary special, featuring Carpenter herself. 'Domingo: Babymoon' was the second-most watched sketch of the season.
Another sketch from the 'Thank U, Next' singer that was third most-watched overall was 'Castrati,' in which she plays a young boy who is castrated at eight or nine years old to preserve his falsetto singing voice. Her face of general disgust and horror as Antonio became a meme on social media, gaining traction for the sketch across platforms.
Several of Timothée Chalamet's performances also cracked the Top 10 most-watched sketches, including his performance as a barista-in-training and a bungee workout instructor.

Bryan Cranston reveals gross ‘SNL' sketch idea that was ‘immediately shut down'
It's all about the sauce. Bryan Cranston reflected on his 2010 'Saturday Night Live' hosting gig during a recent appearance on David Spade and Dana Carvey's 'Fly on the Wall' podcast. 'I just wanted to do anything. I had a couple pitches for them,' Cranston, 69, told the two alums of the sketch comedy series. 'I pitched ideas which were almost immediately shut down. Las Vegas Strip casino extends pop superstar's sold-out residency
The Las Vegas Strip is known for hosting spectacular shows in the Sphere Las Vegas, as well as many of its casino theaters. Sphere Las Vegas opened on Sept. 29, 2023, with one of rock's most popular bands, U2, performing a 40-show residency which closed on March 2, 2024. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter After jam band Phish stopped by for a quick, four-show engagement on April 18-21, 2014, another huge band, Eagles, launched their residency at Sphere on Sept. 20, 2024, and have scheduled a total of 44 shows so far through Nov. 8, 2025. Related: Las Vegas Strip casino cancels rock superstar's residency shows Eagles has not revealed when the band's residency will end, and the Sphere's management has said they can perform in the venue as long as they wish. Legendary Grateful Dead spinoff band Dead & Company closed its "Dead Forever Live at Sphere" residency after 48 shows at Sphere Las Vegas on May 17, 2025. The band currently holds the record for the most residency shows by a band at Sphere. Joining the lineup of superstar performers passing through Sphere Las Vegas are the venue's first country superstar performer Kenny Chesney, who signed for 15 shows that began May 22 and conclude June 21, 2025, unless extended. Back in 2004, Ashlee Simpson appeared on "Saturday Night Live" to perform her songs "Pieces of Me" and "Autobiography," US Weekly remembered in a February story. She completed the first song without a problem, but when she began to sing the second song, "Autobiography," later in the show, prerecorded vocals of "Pieces of Me" began playing as the band was set to perform the second song. The mishap revealed that Simpson had lip-synched "Pieces of Me" and planned to lip-synch "Autobiography." But time heals wounds, and Simpson is back selling out shows in Vegas and booking more shows for her fans. Sam Rockwell had his head shaved by strippers before quitting 'G.I. Jane'
Sam Rockwell may have quit his gig playing a Navy Seal in Demi Moore's infamous 1997 drama G.I. Jane, but he was treated to one heck of a night out before he left. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, the White Lotus star recalled how Moore put together a wild party for the actors playing Navy Seals in the film, as well as the Navy Seals who were training them for the film. But the outing wasn't just for fun — it was also preparation. "Demi Moore had just done Striptease, the movie, and she got a strip joint, and she got all the strippers and the Navy Seals and the actors and got us drunk on tequila," said Rockwell. "And they shaved our heads — the strippers and Demi shaved our heads, and we got drunk with the Navy Seals and got lap dances." An astonished Kimmel replied, "And you quit that movie?" Indeed, Rockwell did leave the job before filming began — and he blames himself for not fully understanding the demands of the role. "I realized that when you play a Navy Seal, in BUD/S [Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL] training, you have to be in the water a lot. So, I probably should have read the script more thoroughly," the actor admitted. Rockwell went on to explain that he was "really skinny at the time," and as a result ended up experiencing "early hypothermia" after prolonged training sessions in the water. "I missed my girlfriend and I wanted to get out of there, so I did the boot camp, and then I split."Though he left early, Rockwell says G.I. Jane director Ridley Scott didn't hold it against him, and the two worked together again six years later in Matchstick Men. Rockwell is currently a favorite to receive an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for his talked-about turn as Frank, friend of Walton Goggins' Rick, on The White Lotus. Though Woody Harrelson was originally supposed to play the role, he had to drop out due to scheduling. Rockwell credited his partner, actress Leslie Bibb, for encouraging him to join her in season 3, and for helping him prepare for Frank's epic monologue. "Usually for a two-and-a-half page monologue, ideally you want two or three months," Rockwell explained. "But I only had like four weeks or something."
