OPEN// Sisi, Erdogan warn of regional chaos amid Israeli escalation
CAIRO, June 14 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call on Saturday from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy said in a statement.
The two leaders discussed the escalating Israeli military operations in the region, expressing deep concern over the potential catastrophic consequences of the ongoing escalation.
They emphasized that such actions could gravely endanger the region's stability and security and risk plunging the Middle East into widespread chaos, with consequences that would impact all countries without exception.
Both presidents underscored the urgent need for an immediate halt to military operations and a return to diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran, with the Sultanate of Oman acting as a mediator.
They agreed that this is the only viable path toward a peaceful resolution of the current crisis.
President Sisi stressed the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach to address all regional security concerns related to nuclear non-proliferation.
He called for the universalization of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), particularly in the Middle East, and the establishment of a region free of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), which should include all countries in the region.
Sisi reaffirmed that a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian cause, through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only guarantee for lasting peace and regional stability.
He also reiterated the call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan expressed his full support for the Egyptian stance.
Both leaders rejected any attempt to forcibly displace the Palestinian people or liquidate the Palestinian cause.
They agreed to maintain ongoing coordination and joint efforts to restore regional stability. (MENA)

Egypt's Sisi, IFC Managing-Director discuss bilateral cooperation
CAIRO – 15 June 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Makhtar Diop. The meeting was also attended by Vice President and General Counsel for IFC, Ethiopis Tafara, and Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat. Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi appreciated IFC's cooperative relations with Egypt over the past years. The president emphasized Egypt's keenness on further strengthening this collaboration, particularly in light of the ongoing regional developments, which create massive challenges on development programs. Diop agreed with the president and stressed the corporation's commitment to its fruitful cooperation with Egypt. The meeting explored opportunities for joint efforts to enhance investment flows into Egypt and to facilitate financing for the private sector. President El-Sisi confirmed the importance of providing competitive financing rates to reduce costs. He noted that Egypt is adopting a series of policies as well as structural and economic reforms aimed at maintaining financial and economic stability. The president affirmed that the state is committed to boosting the private sector's role in economic activity and development, and is working to bolster private sector confidence in the economy by offering numerous tax and customs facilitations to reduce costs and streamline procedures. Additionally, the government is launching initiatives aimed at increasing exports, developing production and service activities, and expanding public-private partnership projects. The IFC's managing director lauded Egypt's economic reform measures, which enhance investor confidence and improve the investment climate.
