According to a GSMArena report, the Oppo K13 Turbo 5G and Oppo K13 Turbo Pro 5G are expected to launch between August 11 and August 14 in India. Alongside the launch, the sale is expected to go live on Flipkart after the official announcement. However, we are still awaiting the exact launch date, which is expected to be revealed in the coming days.
Apart from the launch timeline, Oppo has confirmed some of the unique smartphone features that may gain buyers' attention. The Oppo K13 Turbo 5G series will feature a new 'Storm Engine' that includes a variable-speed fan, 7,000 sq mm vapour chamber, and a 19,000 sq mm graphite layer duct system for heat dissipation.
Oppo K13 Turbo 5G series: What to expect
In terms of specifications, the Oppo K13 Turbo 5G is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, whereas the Pro model will likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Both models are also tipped to be backed by a massive 7000mAh battery, offering a longer performance.
Apart from the performance features, the Oppo K13 Turbo 5G series will likely feature 6.80-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It may also come with a 50MP dual camera setup and a 16MP selfie camera. These features also resemble the Chinese variants of the Oppo K13 Turbo models.
In terms of pricing, the Oppo K13 Turbo series will likely be priced at under Rs. 30,000. Therefore, it may compete with several smartphones in the segment, including Poco F7 series, OnePlus Nord 5 series, iQOO Neo 10, and others.

Recognise industrial electronics as national strategic priority: ICEA
NEW DELHI: The India Cellular and Electronics Association ( ICEA ) on Monday said that industrial electronics should be considered as a national priority, and noted that the segment is crucial for the country's $500 billion electronics manufacturing target by FY31. The Delhi-based industry body, which represents Chinese brands such as, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo, as well as Apple and Corning in India, noted that it is crucial to manufacture electronics that will automate factories, cities, and transport networks. 'The industrial electronics segment must be recognised as a national strategic priority. It is the brain and nervous system of every advanced manufacturing setup. Without leadership in industrial automation, India cannot claim true manufacturing leadership,' said Pankaj Mohindroo, chairman, ICEA. According to ICEA, industrial electronics have a massive potential for high-skilled employment, particularly in areas such as embedded systems, automation software, robotics, and AI-integrated systems. 'We must invest in talent pipelines, R&D, and incentives to grow this sector. India should aim to become not just a user of industrial electronics, but a global design and manufacturing hub for it,' Mohindroo said. In March this year, the Narendra Modi-led government approved a ₹22,919 crore scheme to incentivise the manufacturing of electronics components in India. The scheme is expected to attract an investment of ₹59,350 crore, resulting in the production of ₹4.56 lakh crore worth of products 'The industrial electronics forms the technological backbone of modern manufacturing infrastructure, powering smart factories, robotics, intelligent grids, automated systems, and future-ready transport and logistics networks,' said Manish Walia, VP, Delta Electronics. ICEA is currently leading efforts to craft a dedicated policy and strategic roadmap for industrial electronics through its 'Steering Committee on Industrial Electronics and Infrastructure', in close collaboration with the government and leading industry stakeholders. The steering committee comprises top executives from companies such as such as Delta Electronics, Infineon Technologies, Festo, Fanuc, Rockwell Automation India, Feedback Advisory and Federation for Economic Development (FED). To this extent, ICEA cited that homegrown Amber Enterprises, through its subsidiary ILJIN Electronics India, recently acquired a controlling stake in Israeli Unitronics for ₹404 crore to focus on industrial automation technologies . Unitronics brings with it cutting-edge capabilities in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Industrial IoT, all of which are key enablers of Industry 4.0 . 'This transaction will significantly strengthen India's Industrial automation by providing a strong foothold in the rapidly growing sector of Industry 4.0 solutions and real-time data-driven technologies. This will accelerate our nation's transition towards smart factories and digitally-driven production systems, ultimately supporting the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat in high-tech manufacturing,' said Jasbir Singh, executive chairman & CEO of Amber Group .

KMRL launches UPI-enabled ticket vending machines at metro stations
The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has introduced UPI-based payments at ticket vending machines in all stations along the Aluva–Thripunithura metro corridor. The move is part of its initiative to offer a faster, more user-friendly ticketing experience while reducing dependency on cash transactions. The initiative was inaugurated on Monday (August 4) by Transport Commissioner Nagaraju C. at a function held at the metro's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium station. Speaking on the occasion, Loknath Behera, Managing Director of KMRL, said this marked the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at making ticket booking faster and more convenient for passengers. 'Only a few metro systems in the country have integrated UPI with vending machines. Kochi Metro is proud to be one among them,' he said. 'Several new systems have been introduced to reduce dependency on ticket counters. Our ultimate goal is to transition to a completely digital ticketing system.' Attributing the delay in the metro's Kakkanad extension works to issues such as shifting utilities, Mr. Behera said that the first five stations on the stretch would be ready by June 30, 2026, followed by the remaining five stations by December 31, 2026. Digital ticketing Using UPI-based payments, metro commuters can purchase tickets instantly by scanning a QR code and making a payment via any UPI-enabled mobile application. This eliminates the need for physical cash or card transactions, reduces waiting time at counters, and ensures a smooth, contactless, and secure payment process. It is especially beneficial during peak hours, as it helps decongest ticket counters and offers commuters a quicker alternative to access metro services, a release said. KMRL's digital tickets are currently available on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform through a wide range of popular applications, including Paytm, PhonePe, redBus, Tummoc, Yatri, EaseMyTrip, Rapido, Telegram (My Metro Kochi) and Kerala Savaari.
