How to raise your Hero Rank in Fortnite
Fortnite players are stepping into a heroic new era with the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 3, dubbed the 'Super' season - and one of the most important new features is the Hero Rank system.
Aimed at enhancing gameplay and rewarding aggressive, strategic play, Hero Ranks can significantly boost your chances of success on the battlefield. But how exactly does it work, and how do you climb the ranks quickly? Here's all you need to know.
What is Hero Rank?
Hero Rank is a match-specific progression system introduced in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3. Every player starts at Rank C when they drop from the Battle Bus, and the goal is to climb all the way to the top - Rank S+, the ultimate heroic tier.
Each match resets your Hero Rank, making every game a fresh start.
As you rise through the ranks, your in-game stats receive a boost. Each level grants you +100 Effective Health and unlocks stronger 'Hero Caches,' loot capsules containing higher-tier weapons, consumables, and Hero Items. At Rank S+, players gain access to all missing boons - powerful passive perks.
How to increase your Hero Rank
There are several in-game actions, referred to as 'heroic deeds,' that contribute to your Hero Rank progression. Here's what gets you closer to becoming an S+ hero:
Eliminate enemy players – 75 to 100 XP per kill
Survive storm phases – Starts at 100 XP, increasing with each new phase
Destroy Scout Spires – 250 XP
Take a Sprite to a Shrine – 250 XP
Eliminate Henchmen – 25 XP
Defeat Bosses – 1,500 XP
While knocking out henchmen and surviving storms can help you progress gradually, eliminating players and bosses gives you the fastest rank climb.
For players aiming to hit S+, expect to rack up at least 20 eliminations per match.
Why your Hero Rank matters
Higher Hero Ranks unlock Hero Caches with better loot:
Rank C – Uncommon gear, low chance of a Boon
Rank B – Rare items, higher chance of a Boon
Rank A – Epic items, guaranteed Boon
Rank S – Legendary gear and Hero Items
Rank S+ – All missing Boons, but no new Cache
Additionally, access to Academy Tech Labs at Supernova Academy - the new POI (point of interest), is restricted based on your Hero Rank. These labs contain exclusive loot purchasable with Gold, another returning in-game currency.
Whether you're chasing Victory Royale or just want to flex with the best gear, climbing your Hero Rank in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is now a core part of competitive and casual play alike. Be bold, be active, and embrace your inner hero.

The controversy regarding Fortnite's Kai Cenat skin explained
Image via Twitter/HYPEX. Following the footsteps of Ninja, MrBeast, and many more, hugely popular streamer Kai Cenat is also coming into Fortnite as he will soon receive his own skin in the game. Along with the outfit, Cenat is set to receive other stuff as well like Backbling, Pickaxe, and more. However, unlike the other streamers and YouTubers, Cenat's entry in Fortnite hasn't been received well by the fans as his upcoming skin is brutally criticized for several reasons. Let's explore all the downsides of this skin. Why is the Kai Centa skin Fortnite facing huge backlash from the fans? The root of the controversy regarding Kai Cenat's skin in Fortnite circles around a beef with another fellow streamer, Adin Ross. There is no doubt that Adin Ross and the word 'controversy' has become synonymous now-a-days, but it seems, Cenat is at the receiving end this time. This all began when Adin Ross once challenged Kai Cenat to donate $400,000 to a major philanthropic campaign launched by Mr Beast and Mark Rober named TeamWater, which aims to raise $40 million to provide clean drinking water to underprivileged communities. Ross even claimed to donate $400,000 if Cenat does the same, or else he will donate $100,000. But it seems the challenge was never taken care of by Cenat. But how is it linked to Cenat's skin? Usually we see Fortnite skins getting revealed on YouTube or on X via a trailer or a general post, but that wasn't the case with Cenat. His skin was showcased recently via the Las Vegas Sphere, which needs a staggering advertisement price of $450,000 for one day. And this is where Adin's followers have reignited the old controversy, connecting the dots with Cenat's skin. Not only that, another controversy that stemmed up recently was about Cenat's promise about building a school in Makoko Nigeria. Sadly, that promise hasn't yet come to reality, and the Adin Ross crew has found a golden opportunity to blast the young streamer amidst the heat of his Fortnite skin. Some fans were even frustrated to see the Kai Cenat skin in Fortnite in spite of the streamer's low dedication towards the game as compared to other well-known Fortnite streamers. But this logic is absolutely baseless, keeping in mind MrBeast also does have his own skin in Fortnite, but having lesser antiques than Cenat himself.
