How to raise your Hero Rank in Fortnite
Image via Epic Games
Fortnite players are stepping into a heroic new era with the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 3, dubbed the 'Super' season - and one of the most important new features is the Hero Rank system.
Aimed at enhancing gameplay and rewarding aggressive, strategic play, Hero Ranks can significantly boost your chances of success on the battlefield. But how exactly does it work, and how do you climb the ranks quickly? Here's all you need to know.
What is Hero Rank?
Hero Rank is a match-specific progression system introduced in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3. Every player starts at Rank C when they drop from the Battle Bus, and the goal is to climb all the way to the top - Rank S+, the ultimate heroic tier.
Each match resets your Hero Rank, making every game a fresh start.
As you rise through the ranks, your in-game stats receive a boost. Each level grants you +100 Effective Health and unlocks stronger 'Hero Caches,' loot capsules containing higher-tier weapons, consumables, and Hero Items. At Rank S+, players gain access to all missing boons - powerful passive perks.
How to increase your Hero Rank
There are several in-game actions, referred to as 'heroic deeds,' that contribute to your Hero Rank progression. Here's what gets you closer to becoming an S+ hero:
Eliminate enemy players – 75 to 100 XP per kill
Survive storm phases – Starts at 100 XP, increasing with each new phase
Destroy Scout Spires – 250 XP
Take a Sprite to a Shrine – 250 XP
Eliminate Henchmen – 25 XP
Defeat Bosses – 1,500 XP
While knocking out henchmen and surviving storms can help you progress gradually, eliminating players and bosses gives you the fastest rank climb.
For players aiming to hit S+, expect to rack up at least 20 eliminations per match.
Why your Hero Rank matters
Higher Hero Ranks unlock Hero Caches with better loot:
Rank C – Uncommon gear, low chance of a Boon
Rank B – Rare items, higher chance of a Boon
Rank A – Epic items, guaranteed Boon
Rank S – Legendary gear and Hero Items
Rank S+ – All missing Boons, but no new Cache
Additionally, access to Academy Tech Labs at Supernova Academy - the new POI (point of interest), is restricted based on your Hero Rank. These labs contain exclusive loot purchasable with Gold, another returning in-game currency.
Whether you're chasing Victory Royale or just want to flex with the best gear, climbing your Hero Rank in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is now a core part of competitive and casual play alike. Be bold, be active, and embrace your inner hero.

"Nobody wants it": Fans Freak Out Over Latest Fortnite Festival Headliner Rumor
Image via: Epic Games With this season of Fortnite Festival ending soon on June 17, anticipation is high for what's to come next. A recent leak that electronic music producer Deadmau5 would headline the upcoming season has set off a remarkable negative reaction from the community. Deadmau5 Rumored as Headliner — But Not Everyone's On Board The leak, posted today by reputable Fortnite leakers alleges that Deadmau5 will be introducing brand-new cosmetics to the Festival mode, including a custom keytar and drum set. While that might seem like a fun one-off, high-octane addition to some, safety advocates are sounding the alarm. One user commented, 'Nobody wants it,' a comment that represented many of the comments on multiple threads. Even with Deadmau5's international fame and massive live performance presence, which has drawn as many comparisons to new headliners Marshmello and old headliner Daft Punk, the announcement just hasn't been resonating with much of Fortnite's player community. One of the largest reasons for the lukewarm reception appears to be based on what the community expected from T-Pain. After his ultra-publicized debut in a silly Fortnite 'docuseries' back in Chapter 6 Season 2, fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since. It was what a lot of people imagined would be his stage for the next Festival. What's Next for the Fortnite Festival? Though Epic Games has yet to formally announce Deadmau5's addition, everything certainly suggests a June 18 debut for the new Festival season, the day after the current one ends. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo If this rumor turns out to be correct, players can look forward to receiving a new Festival Pass, themed cosmetics, and Jam Tracks from the helmeted DJ himself. Sabrina Carpenter is our Fortnite Festival Season 8 Icon! Meanwhile, Fortnite, Chapter 7 of their game is letting electronic music stage the comeback of a lifetime. Insiders say it would help inherit its trailblazing history of unprecedented multi-genre virtual concerts in public video gaming spaces. With past seasons bringing major artists such as Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and Eminem, the standard has already been established and fans are surely hoping for another amazing chapter. Until then, one thing is for sure, Epic Games has one hell of a tough crowd to win over this time around.
