I think for a lot of people, what they first found out about you is obviously the goal call, right?
Gold, but when Kolo Muani is one on one with Emi Martinez, did you want to yell no?
How did you, how did you handle that?
How did you restrain yourself?
That is such a, that is such a good observation because I, I'm gonna share something with you that I haven't shared too many times.
I did not want to watch, uh, the replay of the World Cup that I called.
I, I think I watched it in the first year anniversary because I did not remember.
I was so, like, into my emotions that I didn't remember how the rest of the 123rd minutes went from, you know, my, my style and such a big occasion, such a big game.
I was thoroughly relieved.
Uh, when I listened to every single word that I said during the 123 minutes and the penalty kicks, that was a very well-balanced, uh, broadcast.
Um, and then I didn't remember what the heck I said when Kolo Muani was one on one, and I thought I had missed the call, and no, I did not.
I said these are my exact words, Lovagane Francia.
All I remember when I saw.
Otamendi missed the, the clearance on his bicycle kick.
I was, I, I mean, I was dying inside.
I was ready to cry for the wrong reason.
And I said on the broadcast Lovagane Francia, which means France is going to win him and I, but your brain was saying I cannot.
I don't know, but I don't even know if I saw the save.
I did because obviously I referenced it, but I was like, man, that final, that moment, that, that everything was like something else.

Ibrahima Konate: Real Madrid take incredibly BOLD step

Real Madrid have taken a bold step in their pursuit of Liverpool centre-back . They want the Frenchman. It's no secret at this stage that Real Madrid want to sign Ibrahima Konate. It no longer seems like much of a secret that Konate wants to join Real Madrid. That's the line out of Spain, anyway, and has been for quite some time now. The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of the season and Los Blancos smell another potential free transfer. LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! It's a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold saga, of course. That saw Alexander-Arnold string Liverpool along for at least a year before 'eventually' deciding to sign for Real Madrid. They're trying the same strategy, convincing Konate that they're the ultimate destination and making it near-impossible for the Reds to agree a new contract. And it appears to be working in back-to-back years. However, there's a twist here. Things are different this time around and it means Real Madrid have taken a bold new step. 🔴 Real Madrid leave squad space for Ibrahima Konate Marca reports that Real Madrid are leaving a squad space open in case Konate joins them in this transfer window. That involves leaving Franco Mastantuono with their Castilla side for a bit, as they did with both Vinicius and Rodrygo. So could a transfer actually happen this summer? Yes, actually. Real Madrid are a bit desperate after finishing last season trophyless. Their defence, in particular, looks sub-par, with Dean Huijsen, still a young player and one who hasn't been a player in a leading side before, their best option. They may well reach a point where success looks difficult to achieve without an elite addition there. Konate, with just one year remaining on his contract, would be far and away their best option. But that would mean Liverpool wanting to sell. It's possible they reach that point if a deal can be done for Marc Guehi, who also has just one year left on his deal. Real Madrid are only willing to put up around €25m, however, which makes it difficult when Crystal Palace want significantly more than that for their captain. Liverpool are only going to sell Konate if they can effectively replace him for free immediately, as they will be able to do next summer. So there's a long way to go here. It's certainly bold to leave a space for Konate when a deal isn't remotely close, but perhaps it's a sign that Real Madrid are more open to negotiation than first thought.

Lille predicted XI v Brest: Olivier Giroud and Berke Özer set for debuts in season opener

Bruno Génésio has revealed his frustration with Lille OSC's inactivity in the transfer market ahead of the start of the season, and the squad ahead of the campaign opener against Stade Brestois feels like a work in progress. Berke Özer only completed his move to Lille three days ago, but will already be thrown into the starting lineup as the new no. 1, following Lucas Chevalier's move to Paris Saint-Germain. Génésio is without any of his three right-backs after Tiago Santos's return from an ACL injury was delayed by a sore throat, meaning the youth prospect Ousmane Touré has been drafted into the role. Despite the problems, there is still excitement around this Lille squad, particularly in the number nine role. All eyes will be on Olivier Giroud as the 2018 World Cup winner marks his return to Ligue 1 thirteen years after leaving for Arsenal. Lille likely lineup v Brest Berke Özer; Romain Perraud, Alexsandro, Nathan Ngoy, Ousmane Touré; Ayyoub Bouaddi, Benjamin André, Ngal'ayel Mukau; Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Olivier Giroud, Hákon Arnar Haraladsson.
