The tickets have been sold and calendars marked for the
Monaco E-Prix
, taking place at the
Circuit de Monaco
on May 3 and 4. One look at the Monaco landscape is enough to understand why race enthusiasts call this the most stunning circuit in the world. Words often fall short when describing the beauty of high-speed electric cars racing through a cityscape that blends historic and modern architecture, weaving around the waterfront with boats watching from the harbour.
Here's all you need to know about this special Monaco circuit
High-speed
Gen3 Evo cars
will take to the famed Monaco streets, known for providing plenty of overtaking opportunities. That alone explains why no pole-sitter has gone on to win the final race in the past three seasons. Notably,
Formula E
now uses the actual Formula 1 Grand Prix layout, so fans can expect full-speed thrills and sustainable entertainment with no shortcuts.
The stunning full-length circuit includes an uphill climb, Casino Square, the iconic hairpin turn, a chicane, and even a tunnel that often delivers surprises when the cars burst back into the open.
It's not just the track that excites—Monaco's grandstands offer a wide range of views to suit every fan's preference. From the panoramic view at Sainte Devote, to the lively Casino Square, and the finish line near the swimming pool and Anthony Noghes Corner, spectators are in for a visual treat at whichever grandstand they book for the race.
According to FormulaE.com, former Formula 1 champion Nelson Piquet once said that racing through the Monegasque streets feels like "riding a bicycle around your living room."
The official X handle of Formula E has also shared a graphic breakdown of the Circuit de Monaco, beautifully highlighting every nook and corner of the 3.337 km track.

Madrid's new street circuit to debut in 2026, replacing Imola on F1 schedule

A new street circuit in Madrid will make its debut on the Formula 1 schedule in September of next year, replacing the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola. F1 announced its 2026 calendar on Tuesday, setting the first grand prix at the new Madring track in the Spanish capital for Sept. 13. Spain gets two races in 2026 as Barcelona stays on the calendar for the final year of its contract. It faces an uncertain future after that. F1 has previously said Madrid's race will be known as the Spanish Grand Prix. The new schedule doesn't specify a new name for Barcelona's race, which has been known as the Spanish Grand Prix since 1991. Spain's second race means Italy drops back to having one grand prix as Imola leaves the schedule. The historic track, a favorite with drivers, returned to the schedule in 2020 as a late addition amid the COVID-19 pandemic and has hosted five races since. Its contract was up this year. The Australian Grand Prix on March 8 starts the season for the second year running because the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia again move to April to avoid clashing with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The season stays at 24 races and concludes with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from Dec. 4-6. As part of a push to limit intercontinental travel, the Canadian Grand Prix moves forward from June to May 24 so that it follows the Miami Grand Prix. That sets up a potential clash with the Indianapolis 500. Last month's Monaco Grand Prix was also run on the same day as the Indy 500, but the difference in time zones meant it was easier to avoid a clash. The Monaco race started nearly four hours earlier and finished well before the Indy 500 began. This week's race in Canada is sandwiched between events in Spain and Austria. Moving Canada in 2026 will mean that all of F1's European races are scheduled together from June through September. 'With 24 grands prix across five continents, the season truly reflects the global nature of our community, while the improved geographical flow of the calendar shows our joint commitment to making the championship more efficient and sustainable,' FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said in a statement.

17-year-old Arvid Lindblad gets F1 exemption after Red Bull request

The FIA has granted a Formula 1 super license to Red Bull Junior racer Arvid Lindblad prior to his 18th birthday. The move comes following a request from his team for Lindblad, who will turn 18 on Aug. 8. Eighteen is the age traditionally required to hold a super license, however adjustments were made to the FIA International Sporting Code last year. The following line was added to the code: 'At the sole discretion of the FIA, a driver judged to have recently and consistently demonstrated outstanding ability and maturity in single-seater formula car competition may be granted a super license at the age of 17 years old.' The FIA announced Lindblad's new status following a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Macau, China. 'After considering the information presented in support of this request, the World Council found that the driver has recently and consistently demonstrated outstanding ability and maturity in single-seater formula car competition and therefore approved the request,' a statement said. Lindblad now is eligible to compete in an F1 race weekend. Red Bull currently has four drivers under contract in F1. Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda are part of the senior team, while Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson compete for the junior team.
