Will Smith alludes to Chris Rock Oscars slap in freestyle rap: 'Talking crazy out your face up on the stage'
The actor and musician's recent appearance on British DJ Charlie Sloth's freestyle rap show, Fire in the Booth, found him referencing his shocking altercation with Oscars host Chris Rock that led to Smith's resignation from the Academy and his 10-year ban from future ceremonies.
In a freestyle that repeated the refrain "I am the illest," Smith rapped, "If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage."
In the jaw-dropping (popping?) 2022 incident, Rock cracked a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head as part of his hosting duties at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Smith, Pinkett Smith's husband of almost 30 years, reacted by stalking up to the stage and smacking Rock in the face, warning him, "Keep my wife's name out of your f---ing mouth."
Pinkett Smith had previously announced that alopecia had caused her to lose her hair.
Smith's freestyle on Fire in the Booth also included references to his humble beginnings in Philadelphia as well as his wealth, three children, two marriages, and artistic success: "Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, and when I stare at 'em, I'm hearing 'em whisper, 'You've got every right to be arrogant,'" he rapped.
The Oscar-winning King Richard star cautioned at the top of his freestyle that "my insights don't sound right in sound-bites," before he couched his reference to the Oscars incident with, "I'm not the type of man to move in malicious ways, and I am too grown to play childish games."
Representatives for Smith and Rock did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.Producer and hype man Sloth, who hosted The Rap Show on BBC's 1Xtra, now headlines The Charlie Sloth Rap Show for Apple Music. Fire in the Booth is Sloth's YouTube series, which showcases established and up-and-coming MCs as they prove their skills on the mic.
This is not the first time Smith has referenced his awards ceremony clash in his music. In March, he released his new album, Based on a True Story, his first record of solo material in 20 years, which included lyrics addressing his Oscars slap and his "complicated" relationship with his wife. Pinkett Smith previously stated that she and Smith separated in 2016 but remain married.

Youtubers wins live UK Broadcasting Rights to Bundesliga
Youtube channels, That's Football, hosted by Mark Goldbridge, and The Overlap have won UK broadcast rights to show the Bundesliga live this season, according to The Athletic. Alongside the BBC and Amazon Prime, The Overlap and That's Football, will share live broadcasting rights, showing 20 live Friday night games. The Overlap is a British-based YouTube channel with former players, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright, and Roy Keane and has over 1.5m subscribers. That's Football is the Mark Goldbridge football fan channel and has over 1.4m subscribers. The new agreement is due to be announced today and makes the Bundesliga the first major European football league to award part of its live broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom to Youtube content creators. This is part of an emerging trend away from traditional broadcasting models. Recently, The Rest is Football became the first UK platform of its kind to secure a highlights package with Spain's La Liga. Importantly for UK-based Bundesliga fans, all games will be free-to-air apart from those on Amazon Prime. Sunday games on Amazon Prime will be pay-per-view for £2.49. The Bundesliga's own YouTube channel will also be live broadcasting all Friday night games in the Bundesliga and the second tier of German football. The move may disappoint traditional Bundesliga fans in the UK. Sky Sports has been the long-term Bundesliga provider. Their deal has now ended, but Sky will retain the rights to the Saturday evening game. The move is part of a Bundesliga strategy to attract a new and younger global audience. On Youtube, Goldbridge's channel regularly attracts over 250,000 viewers, with a high of one million. The Overlap's most recent video attracted over 1.5 million, with previous highs of over 8 million. Given their popularity and global reach with younger audiences, the Bundesliga will be excited about the prospects of this new venture. After decades of slumber, the 18th-century Palladian masterpiece built by Horatio Walpole in 1741 has reopened to the public–not merely as a preserved historic site, but as a reimagined centre for contemporary arts and culture. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Simon Oldfield, Wolterton's inaugural arts and culture programme breathes striking new life into one of Britain's top 500 stately homes, opening a dialogue between heritage and the avant-garde, history and immediacy. Set across 500 acres of parkland and framed by a 10-acre lake, the estate's restoration is not only physical–it is conceptual. The space now exists not only to remember the past, but to interrogate the present and look to the future. This season's programming represents a significant milestone in Wolterton's transformation, with exhibitions and residencies curated to explore identity, emotion, memory, and our relationship with the natural world. Co-curated by Simon Oldfield and Gemma Rolls-Bentley, Sea State runs until December 7th, 2025, aligning with Hambling's 80th birthday. Occupying Wolterton's Marble Hall and Portrait Room, the exhibition stages a compelling visual and emotional journey through our relationship with the sea–a force Hambling describes as 'ever moving' and 'timeless.' Upon entering the first-floor galleries, the ambient Norfolk light filters through tall windows, catching the textured surfaces of Hambling's waves and reflecting off Robertson's colourful steel sculpture. The effect is immersive and elemental. Hambling's contribution is anchored by her new installation Time in the Portrait Room–an intimate collection of forty Nightwaves radiating around a central portrait of her late partner, Tory, October 2024 . The portrait, according to Hambling, 'painted itself' at the moment of Tory's death and serves as both a tribute and a meditation on love, grief, and nature's continuity. The surrounding wave paintings add emotional turbulence, invoking both the physical might and metaphysical vastness of the sea. These explosive yet meditative works, part of her celebrated Wall of Water series, ripple with energy and echo the physicality of the ocean. They are not mimetic but expressive–evocative of sound, sensation, and psychic resonance. 'The sound of the sea,' as Hambling puts it, is felt more than seen. Sharing the space is Ro Robertson's The Swell , a bold new site-specific sculpture composed of three undulating steel forms, painted in rich marine hues. The work–which has been acquired by the Ellis Family, current owners of Wolterton–feels both solid and in motion. Each element encircles a central void, which Robertson describes as symbolic thresholds–portals between identities, spaces, and ideas. It is an invitation to look not just at, but through. Robertson's gouache works on paper flank The Swell , continuing their exploration of sea-as-symbol. Born in Sunderland and now living in Cornwall, the artist has long drawn on the fluidity and wildness of the coast to explore themes of queerness, transformation, and emotional resilience. As they note, 'Both the sea and Maggi Hambling are vital inspirations,' reflecting a conversation across generations and identities that's felt palpably throughout the show. The pairing of Hambling and Robertson is a curatorial triumph. Though separated by age and medium, both artists find in the sea a metaphor for life's instability and beauty. A Wild Pulse: Nessie Stonebridge's Residency On the ground floor of the house, a different but equally compelling energy takes hold. Suffolk-based artist Nessie Stonebridge, currently artist-in-residence at Wolterton, presents new ceramic and painted works that seem to pulse with the wild, untamed rhythm of the estate itself. Her dynamic sculptures and canvases are alive with depictions of Norfolk's native wildlife—swans, dogs, herons—rendered in an expressive style that's as primal as it is poetic. These creatures, often captured in moments of flight, fear, or fight, act as metaphors for personal trauma, resilience, and the human instinct for survival. Stonebridge's work walks a tightrope between chaos and grace, abstraction and figuration. Much of her practice emerges from the land itself–observations made on daily walks through the estate and the surrounding countryside. Whether painted from memory or sketched on site, her animals seem to leap from their surfaces, propelled by an urgency that speaks to life lived on the edge. Through Stonebridge's lens, nature is not pastoral, but fierce, fragile, and ferociously alive. The Clay Research Group (CRG), based in Norwich, explores the local material history of the estate–engaging directly with the soils, resources, and archival narratives of the region. Similarly, De Onkruidenier, artists-in-residence at the Sainsbury Centre, are based at Wolterton until September, creating work that interrogates ecological memory and environmental change. These initiatives ground the estate's arts programme in the Norfolk landscape–bridging global themes with hyper-local specificity. They demonstrate a clear intention: to make Wolterton not a closed bastion of heritage, but an evolving space for critical, creative, and collective exploration. A Living Estate for the 21st Century What makes Wolterton's cultural revival so remarkable is not just the calibre of artists on show, but the ambition of its vision. It's not simply a gallery, nor a museum, nor a stately home frozen in time. It's all of those–and something more. It's a living, thinking estate that dares to juxtapose grandeur with grit, history with risk, and tradition with transformation. The public can explore the house, grounds, and lake; stay overnight in the main hall or one of several charming cottages; and experience art in a setting that transcends the usual white cube. 2025 college football broadcast info, streaming guide for Power conferences
It's back — the pageantry, the spectacle, all the way from Tightwad Hill down to Death Valley(s). College football begins its march through 2025 with Iowa State versus Kansas State in … Dublin? Rest assured, this year's TV schedule is vast, loaded and full of exceptions. The first three weeks are already set with broadcasters, as are a handful of headliner matchups later this fall. Week 4 (Sept. 20) is when networks can start toggling TV windows based on College Football Playoff gravity and in-season developments, with six- and 12-day windows to flex into before kickoff. It puts the most interesting, or consequential, games in front of the largest viewership. It also adds confusion to a process that's already quite confusing. Advertisement Here, we break down the 2025 broadcast rotation for each major conference. We'll worry about bowls and the Playoff once we get there. As it stands, the streaming situation is dissected as ever, and college football has packaged its many iconographies off to a long list of broadcast suitors. All times listed below are ET and games are on Saturdays unless noted otherwise. We begin our voyage (voyage? voyage!) by selecting a base TV provider. Here are the most popular options that include conference networks, with pricing as of August 2025: CBS fell behind ABC when its competitor landed NCAA exclusivity in 1966. It wanted a way to break into college football, and the network found a groove as the SEC's television partner, which lasted until last season's conference shift to … ABC (and ESPN). That Longhorns fan muttering about Nietzsche was right after all. The SEC is ESPN's Saturday centerpiece now. 'ABC Saturday Night Football' is the conference marquee with a weekly 7:30 p.m. start. It's usually with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call, as Holly Rowe reports along the sideline. A typical SEC/ABC Saturday is blocked out as such: If there are multiple top-line matchups after sundown, well, one of them can just slide over to ESPN in the 6-8 p.m. range. All the other games go to ESPN's many tributaries (ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.) or the SEC Network because ESPN is its parent company, naturally. Some of the lower-tier offerings will be digital exclusives to ESPN+ and SEC Network+ (Illinois State vs. Oklahoma, and Long Island vs. Florida are Week 1 examples). Ardent fans will need to 'plus' up for the entire slate. Advertisement That coincides with ESPN's direct-to-consumer (DTC) service, which launches Aug. 21. The unlimited DTC plan includes all of ESPN's linear networks and its digital streamers. That means both SEC Network and SEC Network+ are covered. Without the new service, you can still stream SEC Network or SEC Network+ on the ESPN app … but you need a TV plan login, rather than an ESPN+ one. Here's the 'SEC on ABC' lineup so far. The later weeks will fill out in time. The Big Ten is now their best friend. Well, they share their best friend with two other competitors, and secure times to hang out through an eight-hour, in-person draft. According to the current contract, which runs through 2029, Fox gets to claim the first three games off the Big Ten schedule (that's where Michigan-Ohio State keeps falling). CBS and NBC are both guaranteed three of the top 11 picks, and those two alternate on the fourth pick each year. Needlessly complicated? Wonky pastime? Who is to say. Advertisement Seven of the conference's 18 opening games are on Big Ten Network (BTN). By comparison, there are six on the Fox networks (two on Fox and four on FS1), two on the NBC networks (the main channel and Peacock) and one on CBS … plus two on ESPN networks, because Nebraska is opening against Cincinnati (Big 12) and Northwestern is at Tulane (American). Things settle down a bit once conference play starts, but still, what a headache. In general, think: The CBS lead broadcast team puts Brad Nessler on the call, Gary Danielson on color and Jenny Dell on sideline. Danielson is set to retire after 2025 and will be replaced by Charles Davis. Fox has the Big Ten championship game this year, as well as the annual Buckeyes-Wolverines melee. The inimitable Gus Johnson does Fox's 'Big Noon Saturday' game with Colorado lifer Joel Klatt; Jason Benetti, Tim Brando and several others round out the play-by-play rotation. Fox's new all-in-one subscription, called Fox One, also launches Aug. 21. That unlimited plan has Fox, FS1, FS2 and the Big Ten Network. When NBC has the evening game, expect to hear Noah Eagle (son of Ian). Also expect to hear national champion-turned-analyst Todd Blackledge, reporter (and Rutgers alum) Kathryn Tappen … and this late-career Fall Out Boy song commissioned for 'Big Ten Saturday Night.' Like the SEC, the Big Ten has a few digital exclusives. Peacock has listed four of those so far, including Western Illinois at Illinois in Week 1. What you'll need to watch The American Athletic Conference (AAC) has a TV rights deal with ESPN/ABC. Extra games fall to ESPNU, ESPN+. etc. The Sun Belt Conference also has an ESPN/ABC deal. Mid-American Conference (MAC) football is under that umbrella, too. The annual Army-Navy game is locked in at CBS Sports. That exclusivity runs through the 2038 season.
