'It's a real privilege to be given the opportunity to be head coach of this great football club,' said Edwards. 'It's something that's not lost on me, how big this is, how important this is, and what it means to people. There is an amazing fanbase.
'It felt instantly that this was right for me, and it got me excited. If I was going to come back in, I wanted to come back in at a place where we had a chance, and we have a really good chance here.

Man Utd's £45m target risks Ruben Amorim wrath after ignoring club's orders
Moise Kean has emerged as a potential forward signing for Manchester United but one incident from the player's time at Everton may cause concern for Ruben Amorim Manchester United target Moise Kean will need to tread carefully around Ruben Amorim if he joins the Red Devils this summer. Links have emerged this week between the Fiorentina striker and United, who are looking to bolster their attacking options in the transfer window. Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Kean has a £44.5million release clause in his Fiorentina contract which becomes active between July 1 and 15. That means, despite having four years left on his deal, the club would have to allow him to leave if another team activates the clause during next month's short window. That's provided that he wants to join the Old Trafford side, who finished 15th in the Premier League but managed to reach the Europa League final this season under Amorim. And it would be somewhat of a surprise transfer given Kean's unsuccessful time in the English top flight previously. The 25-year-old was disappointing for Everton following his move in 2019, where he scored just twice in 29 league appearances in his debut campaign. The following three seasons saw him go out on loan to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, who he joined permanently two years ago. During his time at Goodison Park, Kean also sparked controversy by holding a party at his house during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020. After being filmed enjoying himself at the gathering, he was fined two weeks' wages, equating to around £160,000. His breach of the Covid-19 restrictions were said to have "appalled" Everton bosses. And the incident may ring alarm bells in Amorim's head ahead of a potential transfer, given that the Portuguese head coach is a known disciplinarian. Amorim, during his short time at United, has already shown he does not tolerate a lack of discipline, having taken a firm stance against several players who appear to be on their way out of Carrington. Marcus Rashford was frozen out of the squad after falling out with Amorim ahead of last December's Manchester Derby. Alejandro Garnacho was also dropped for the same fixture for showing dissent towards the head coach three days earlier. With five years passing since Kean's Everton transgression, however, it is entirely possible that he has matured. He has certainly been in form since his move to Fiorentina last summer, scoring 25 goals in 44 games across all competitions in his debut campaign and helping the side claim a sixth-place Serie A finish. Meanwhile, United have already added to Amorim's attacking options this summer. Brazilian Matheus Cunha completed a £62.5m move from Wolves earlier this month. The 26-year-old signed a four-year deal at Old Trafford, beginning what is expected to be a busy summer window. Amid the recent links with Kean, Amorim's current strikers are Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. The pair only managed to score 17 goals between them last season in all competitions.

Tony Bloom out to ‘disrupt' Scottish football landscape after Hearts investment
The Brighton owner has ploughed £9.86 million into the Jambos in return for a 29 per cent stake in non-voting shares. As part of the deal, Bloom is entitled to one seat on the Hearts board as a non-executive director and he has appointed James Franks, a legal and strategic business consultant with whom he has worked closely for almost two decades, to the role on his behalf. The English businessman is confident Hearts – who also have a partnership with his data analysis firm, Jamestown Analytics – can ruffle feathers within Scottish football at a time when no club outside Celtic and Rangers have won the top-flight league title for the past 40 years. We are delighted to confirm that the process for Tony Bloom's investment in the club is now complete. The club would like to formally welcome Tony to the Hearts family and looks forward to working with him in forging a long and successful relationship. ℹ️ ⬇️ — Heart of Midlothian FC (@JamTarts) June 25, 2025 'I am absolutely thrilled to be investing in Hearts,' Bloom told Hearts' website. 'I firmly believe in the club's ability to disrupt the pattern of domination of Scottish football which has been in place for far too long. 'This great club has a bright future and I look forward to seeing that unfold in the months and years ahead. The appointment of James as my representative on the board underlines the importance I attach to my investment in the club. 'James has been a trusted associate of mine for many years and I believe that his wealth of experience in the football industry and strong business acumen will be a tremendous asset to the board and to the club.' Chief executive Andrew McKinlay welcomed the culmination of a deal which has been in the pipeline for more than a year. 'It is with great pleasure that I can now, on behalf of everyone at Heart of Midlothian, officially welcome both Tony and James to the club,' he said. 'Today's announcement is the culmination of our fans' belief and support, and I thank them for their backing. When Tony's investment proposal became public in May, it captured the imaginations of our supporters, as demonstrated by Foundation of Hearts members voting 98.5 per cent in favour of it. 'A tremendous amount of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to turn a proposal into a reality and I'd like to thank everyone involved for delivering what is a hugely significant moment in this club's history. 'Again, I speak on behalf of everyone at Hearts when I say we are eagerly anticipating working with Tony and James as we embark on this journey together.' Franks added: 'I am honoured to become a board member at Hearts. From my first visit to Tynecastle in March 2024 as the initial step in the investment process, it was obvious to me just how special the club is. 'All of my subsequent visits and my interactions with the management team at the club and with the Foundation of Hearts have strengthened that feeling and I'm proud now to call myself a Jambo. I welcome the opportunity to play my part in an exciting new chapter in the history of this wonderful club.'
