BOOM! Ohio State football lands 4-star quarterback for 2026 recruiting class
Still, as we have seen in the past, especially in the age of Name, Image and Likeness, loose transfer rules, and now direct revenue payments, you can never have too many quarterbacks. The news may not be the splash of quarterback commitments in the past, but Ohio State has been very good at identifying and developing talent at the position, so there must be something there to work with.

Out of Mission Viejo, California, Fahey is ranked as the No. 25 quarterback and 357th overall recruit in the class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He's only 6-foot, 180 pounds, so he'll likely need to get into the weight room and be an option a couple of seasons down the road.
Fahey was a late effort by the Buckeyes after all of their other higher-profile targets committed elsewhere, with Fahey choosing Ohio State over Stanford and Indiana. He makes the 20th commitment in the OSU recruiting class.

4-star Oregon Ducks target Jalen Lott makes recruiting announcement
The month of June was fun and exciting for the Oregon Ducks when it comes to the recruiting trail, with commitments from 5-star safety Jett Washington and 4-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton to show for it. It appears that July is shaping up to be even better. Over the next couple of weeks, a handful of highly-rated prospects are scheduled to announce their commitments, and the Ducks are in a great position to land many of them. Among those expected announcements are 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho, 4-star S Devin Jackson, and 4-star LB Nick Abrams. On Saturday night, 4-star wide receiver Jalen Lott joined that group, announcing that he will make his commitment official on July 8. Advertisement Lott is down to a final five schools of Oregon, the Texas Longhorns, the Georgia Bulldogs, the USC Trojans, and the LSU Tigers. Earlier this month, a prediction landed on On3 for Lott to commit to the Trojans, but there is growing speculation that Oregon is right there in the mix for the highly-rated pass-catcher. The 247Sports Composite rates Lott as the No. 49 overall player in the 2026 class and the No. 5 ATH. While the prediction is only rated at a 50% confidence level, it still suggests that recruiting intel available indicates Lott, a Frisco, Texas native, may be leaning towards the Trojans. Before this latest prediction, it was Oregon and Texas who were considered the favorites. However, Lott's sister, Falyn, runs track at USC, so there is a family pull there. Advertisement We will seen in just over a week whether or not the Ducks are able to close the deal and get a second blue-chip receiver to Eugene as a member of the 2026 class. 5-star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones puts Oregon football among top schools
The Oregon Ducks are in the midst of a summer hot streak on the recruiting trail, landing six commitments over the last month, and four over the last week. Two of these six players are 5-star recruits, with safety Jett Washington and OT Immanuel Iheanacho headlining the group. The Ducks aren't done yet, though. There are still several highly rated players that Dan Lanning and his staff are targeting, many of whom are scheduled to announce their commitments over the next month. One of those players, 5-star edge rusher Anthony 'Tank' Jones, announced on Thursday that he is cutting down his recruitment to three schools, including Oregon, alongside the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M Aggies. Jones stands at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 16 player and No. 3 EDGE in the 2026 class. Jones took an official visit to Eugene in June, and while the leader in his recruitment is perceived to be Alabama, the Ducks are certainly in the running and could pull off a stunner. Jones does not yet have a commitment date set, but he will continue to narrow down his prospects over the coming weeks and months and choose his final destination before signing day in December, at the latest.
