
Siemens unveils SysML v2 modeler to boost systems engineering
The new tool, Systems Modeler for SysML v2, offers a web-based solution for engineers, allowing collaborative product development in complex environments. Powered by IBM Rhapsody Systems Engineering, the software is the result of ongoing collaboration between Siemens and IBM, leveraging both companies' experience in systems engineering and adopting the SysML v2 open standard.
SysML v2, the Systems Modeling Language version 2, provides a modelling language for the specification, analysis, design, verification, and validation of complex systems. The new tool is intended to streamline cross-domain workflow and enhance productivity for engineering teams developing sophisticated products or systems-of-systems.

According to Siemens, Systems Modeler for SysML v2 is specifically designed to improve collaboration between engineering teams who are often working across multiple areas such as electrical and mechanical engineering. The software allows teams to use SysML v2 models to exchange data between different software applications and across various engineering domains.
Another key feature of Systems Modeler for SysML v2 will be its integration with Siemens' Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. This connection is intended to create a systems-focused digital thread using open standards, supporting the integration of data and processes from mechanical, electronic, electrical, and software sources. Siemens states that this will help transfer system designs more efficiently to downstream teams for more specialised development, while also maintaining full traceability throughout the product's lifecycle.
The integrated solution will also support comprehensive change management across entire projects, ensuring that all modifications are tracked and coordinated across different engineering teams. This feature is intended to maintain consistency and visibility as products evolve through various stages of development.

Lindsay Zwart steps in to lead APAC for Pax8 amid leadership shift
Lindsay Zwart has been appointed as Executive Vice President and General Manager for APAC at Pax8. Zwart, who previously held senior positions with Vodafone, Microsoft, and IBM, assumes responsibility for all aspects of Pax8's business strategy and operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Leadership transition The new appointment coincides with a shift in roles for Chris Sharp, who transitions from his previous focus on local business to a newly created position as Senior Vice President of Business Development on a global scale. Sharp will now report to Craig Donovan, Chief Experience Officer at Pax8. Previously, Zwart worked at Microsoft, where her roles included US Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Cloud and Enterprise business, General Manager for Azure in the US, and overseeing Dynamics, SMB, and Partner Channel Operations. She also held leadership roles at IBM. These centres bring together finance, IT and operational leaders to test emerging tools, scale successful use cases and identify skills gaps across the function. The focus is practical - execution, enablement and embedding new ways of working. According to IBM's 2024 CFO Study, leading CFOs have launched data science centres of excellence 104% more often than their peers. Yet across all CFOs, just 31% have done so. For finance teams looking to accelerate adoption, strengthen capabilities and share learnings across the business, these centres are quickly becoming a core part of the transformation playbook. Culture is either the accelerant or the bottleneck IBM's 2024 report found that 64% of CEOs say AI success depends more on people's adoption than the technology itself. This is because the shift to AI demands a new mindset, one that values experimentation, continuous learning and cross-functional thinking. But driving this kind of change requires clear modelling and reinforcement from the top. CFOs have a unique role to play in creating the cultural conditions for AI success. That means carving out space for learning, rewarding curiosity and connecting AI initiatives to business outcomes that matter to their teams. It also means acknowledging fear and resistance and actively supporting teams as they navigate the change. Siemens named PLM leader for discrete manufacturing by Forrester
Siemens has been recognised as a leader in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for discrete manufacturers in a report published by independent research firm Forrester Research. The report, The Forrester Wave: Product Lifecycle Management for Discrete Manufacturers, Q3 2025, assessed eight PLM vendors, focusing on aspects relevant to discrete manufacturing sectors. Siemens' Teamcenter software received the top possible scores in 11 distinct criteria and achieved the highest score in the Strategy category among all vendors evaluated. The evaluation outlined how Siemens distinguished itself across key PLM capabilities. Siemens' Teamcenter was flagged as a customer favourite in the report, a recognition derived from the positive feedback shared by reference customers. Reference customers unanimously endorse Siemens' continuity of support, security, clear communication, customer service, and issue resolution, and all indicated they would purchase from Siemens again. The report further highlighted Siemens' approach to the evolving needs of manufacturing, reflecting on the company's strategic direction. Siemens reinforces its vision for transforming the PLM foundation of smart manufacturing with a pragmatic, transparent roadmap, and Siemens' commitment to innovation pays off with many above-par capabilities. Siemens earned the highest available scores in several evaluation categories. These included interoperability with design tools, digital thread, embedded software, bill of process, materials or sourcing library integration, support for small batch manufacturing, innovation, roadmap, partner ecosystem, pricing flexibility and transparency, and support for sales and marketing use cases.
