Guj man staying illegally in UK on fake Portuguese passport deported to Mumbai
Mumbai: A man from Rajkot, Priyankrai Savalia (42), was deported to Mumbai International Airport from London on Aug 13, and handed over to the Sahar police for residing illegally in London since 2019. UK authorities discovered he had been using a Portuguese passport obtained with fake documents and a false name. Police revealed that despite being blacklisted in the UK in 2018, Savalia had returned to the country the same year after travelling to Spain. Savalia initially travelled to London in 2015 on a student visa but remained in the UK beyond the two-year visa validity. "Savalia was caught during the search operation and scanning of citizens by the London police. They deported him back in 2018 to Mumbai for overstay. Later, he came back using emergency certificate but was permanently blacklisted from the country. However, Savalia claimed he was seeking opportunity to return," said a police officer of the Sahar police station. Despite being deported in 2018, Savalia managed to fly to Germany and then to Spain. Raj Kundra reacts after being mocked for offering kidney to Premanand Maharaj: ‘If compassion is a PR stunt...'
Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra , who are already in the spotlight over allegations of financial fraud, made headlines again after a video of their recent visit to Vrindavan went viral. In the clip, Raj is seen offering his kidney to spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj, a gesture that left Shilpa visibly surprised. While many praised the move, some criticised it as a 'PR stunt.' Raj Kundra breaks silence on 'PR stunt' jibes Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Raj expressed disbelief at the backlash. 'Strange world we live in when someone chooses to offer a part of themselves to save another's life, it's mocked as a PR stunt. If compassion is a stunt, may the world see more of it. If humanity is a strategy, may more people adopt it. I'm not defined by labels the media or trolls throw at me.' The businessman also reflected on his past, saying it should not invalidate his current actions. 'My past does not cancel my present choices, and my present intentions are not for you to measure with your cynicism. Judge less, love more, you might just save a life too,' he shared. The viral video shows Shilpa and Raj seated with Premanand Maharaj as he reveals that both his kidneys have failed and he has been living with the condition for 10 years. Moved by the revelation, Raj offers to donate his kidney, prompting a surprised reaction from Shilpa. While Maharaj appreciated the sentiment, he declined the offer. Vasant Vihar wall collapse: Case registered; Cops investigating if wall is PWD or DDA property
New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered a case of death due to negligence after two boys were killed when a wall collapsed in southwest Delhi's Vasant Vihar on Thursday. Efforts are on now to determine whether the wall belonged to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or the Public Works Department (PWD), said police. The incident was reported to the Vasant Vihar police station at 4.44 pm, stating that a wall had collapsed near Hanuman Mandir in Basant Nagar. A police team rushed to the spot and found a portion of the wall reduced to rubble. The two boys, originally from Begusarai and Madhubani districts in Bihar, were pulled out from the debris by rescue personnel and transported in PCR vans to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Initial investigation suggests the children were sitting on a staircase next to the wall when it suddenly gave way. Police noted the wall separates two properties—a PWD plot on one side and a staircase leading to a DDA park on the other—leading to uncertainty over which agency owns the structure."Local residents say it is a PWD wall, but the matter is being verified," said a senior police officer. The remaining debris was cleared to rule out the possibility of others being trapped. Authorities suspect the collapse was triggered by heavy rainfall and waterlogging earlier in the day. Police have informed both DDA and PWD about the incident. Structural inspection reports and post-mortem findings are awaited and will determine the next steps in the investigation.
