Three charged after fight on Doncaster College campus

Three people have been charged following a fight that saw Doncaster College evacuated.Officers were called to the campus on Chappell Drive just after 12:30 GMT on Wednesday following reports of an altercation between a group of males.The site was evacuated as a precaution, with a knife recovered during searches, South Yorkshire Police said.Daniel Heeley, 21, is charged with affray and possession of a bladed article on school premises, while Kai Singherra, 20, and a 17-year-old boy are charged with offences under the Public Order Act.
Mr Heeley, of no fixed address, remained in police custody and was due to appear before Doncaster magistrates on Friday.Mr Singherra, of Mexborough, and the 17-year-old who cannot be named are also charged with possession of a controlled drug, and have been bailed to appear before magistrates on 10 April.Three other people arrested - two boys aged 17 and an 18-year-old man - have been released with no further action.Officers from the Doncaster central neighbourhood policing team have been conducting extra patrols since the incident and will be at the college to provide reassurance.

RSPCA appeal after dead dog found buried on East Yorkshire beach

The body of a dog has been discovered buried on an East Yorkshire was found on Tuesday 29 July when a person spotted its paws sticking out of the sand just off Holmpton Road in Hollym, the RSPCA animal charity is appealing for information, describing the burial as "in suspicious circumstances".A spokesperson said there were no obvious injuries to the dark grey, wire-haired type dog, which had been wrapped in black fabric and was microchipped, but had no details registered.
