Mural artist Jeremy Jarvis selected for Bridwell Park project
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture and the City of Wichita Falls has announced the artist who will create the mural for Bridwell Park.
Acclaimed public artist Jeremy Jarvis, a native of southeast Michigan, was selected for a large-scale project that will expand the city's beautification initiative through a national artist call.
Jarvis's work can be found across the United States. He has national experience, including his most recent project, a mural commissioned by Disney for 'Finding Harmony.' Jarvis has also been featured in galleries and museums across the U.S.
'Jeremy's work is grounded in the communities where he works,' Ann Arnold-Ogden, Executive Director of the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, said. 'His mural at Bridwell Park will reflect the heart of this neighborhood—the heart of our city.'
The mural is funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant program, which improves communities.
The mural is anticipated to be completed by June 2025.

WMBD Children programming rescheduled due to power outage

The four children's shows did not air at the originally scheduled time due to a power outage. The shows have been rescheduled to air during the Family Feud 3:30 p.m. time slot from Tuesday to Friday. The new schedule will have: Tails of Valor, airing at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Did I Mention Invention?, airing at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lucky Dog Reunion, airing at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Disney to Pay Comcast an Additional $439 Million for Hulu Stake as Streaming Saga Comes to an End
The years-long saga over the fate of Hulu is officially resolved, with Disney set to pay Comcast $439 million to finally complete the sale of its 33 percent stake in the streaming service. Back in 2023, Disney officially agreed to pay a floor of $8.61 billion for Comcast's stake in Hulu, but the companies couldn't agree on a final valuation for the stake, leading to an extended appraisal process. That process is now complete as of Monday, with a final price clearly much closer to Disney's valuation than Comcast's. While Disney was able to take operational control of Hulu as it sorted out the value of Comcast's stake, the completion of the deal will give the company more leeway to more fully integrate Hulu into its streaming offerings.
