Pics: Cops find military ordnance under freeway in Los Angeles: Report
According to KTLA, Los Angeles Police Department officials told the outlet that officers were dispatched to the 11800 block of Terra Bella shortly before 12:30 pm. on Monday. The outlet noted that while police officers did not confirm the identity of the reported military ordnance, aerial footage showed multiple Los Angeles Police Department vehicles near the Freeway 210 overpass, yellow tape blocking off the area, and bomb squad technicians.
KTLA reported that police officials confirmed that there was no threat to the public posed by Monday's incident and that no evacuations were ordered in the area.

Pictures shared by KTLA on X, formerly Twitter, show law enforcement officials responding to the scene of the alleged military ordnance on Monday.
According to ABC 7, the Los Angeles Police Department recently investigated another potential military ordnance that was discovered in a storage area at Exposition Park near the University of Southern California campus; however, the explosive device was determined to be inert.
In another incident, a grenade that was thought to be inert killed three Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies on July 18 after it was discovered at the Biscailuz Regional Training Center in Los Angeles, according to KTLA. The outlet noted that the grenade that killed the three deputies was discovered alongside two other grenades.
Additionally, the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Division announced last week that two individuals notified the department that they found 'what they believed were military ordnances' while cleaning a deceased family member's home.
'Officers went to the individuals' car and found a plastic box with several military ordnances inside. The LAPD Bomb Squad responded and used a robot to take images of the items,' the police department stated. 'Because they were military devices, the LAPD collaborated with the United States Marine Corps' Camp Pendleton EOD unit to determine whether the items were stable enough to be moved to storage.'
The Los Angeles Police Department's bomb squad later packaged the devices and moved the devices to a storage facility after it was determined that the military devices were 'safe to move.'

Police make more than 200 arrests over Palestine Action support and assaults
Police have made 200 arrests of people supporting banned group Palestine Action and four for assaulting officers as protesters gathered in central London. Hundreds attended Saturday's demonstration in Parliament Square, organised by Defend Our Juries. The Metropolitan Police said it would arrest anyone expressing support for Palestine Action. In a statement, Scotland Yard said 200 arrests were made for showing support for a proscribed organisation by 3.40pm 'with more to follow'. There were a further four arrests for assaults on officers. The force said the detained protesters were taken to prisoner processing points in the Westminster area, and those whose details could be confirmed were bailed, with conditions not to attend any further protest in support of Palestine Action. Those whose details were refused, or could not be verified, were taken to custody suites across London, the Met added. The crowd, sat on the grass inside Parliament Square, could be seen writing 'I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action' on white placards at 1pm, with the vast majority remaining silent. Several demonstrators carrying placards that read 'Palestine Action terrorises Britain while Hamas hides in hospitals, schools and mosques', briefly walked along the crowd before being led away by police officers. Other clusters of protesters who were not holding placards gathered around the Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela statues in the square singing pro-Palestinian chants. Officers were holding individual demonstrators sat on the edge of the grass before escorting them through swelling crowds to police vans parked on the edge of the square. A separate group of officers attended a protester lying next to the fenced-off Emmeline Pankhurst statue. They later began arresting protesters sat in the middle of Parliament Square. The officers lifted the protesters – some sitting and some lying flat – off the ground before escorting them away. Onlookers applauded the protesters and shouted 'Shame on you' at the police making arrests. Protesters who were still sat in the middle of Parliament Square stood up together at 2pm and held their placards in the air. One person was also arrested at a separate Palestine Coalition march, which set off from Russell Square heading to Whitehall via Aldwych and the Strand. The arrest was 'for a placard showing support for Palestine Action', Scotland Yard said. Membership of, or support for, Palestine Action is a criminal offence punishable by up to 14 years in prison under the Terrorism Act 2000. Earlier this week, the first three people to be charged with supporting Palestine Action in England and Wales were named. Jeremy Shippam, 71, Judit Murray, 71, and Fiona Maclean, 53, have all been charged with displaying an article in a public place, arousing reasonable suspicion that they are a supporter of a proscribed organisation after their attendance at a previous demonstration last month. Hundreds have been arrested in the wave of Defend Our Juries protests across the UK since the ban was implemented by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper last month. A Home Office spokesperson said: 'The Home Secretary has been clear that the proscription of Palestine Action is not about Palestine, nor does it affect the freedom to protest on Palestinian rights. 'It only applies to the specific and narrow organisation whose activities do not reflect or represent the thousands of people across the country who continue to exercise their fundamental rights to protest on different issues. 'Freedom to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy and we protect it fiercely. 'The decision to proscribe was based on strong security advice and the unanimous recommendation by the expert cross-government proscription review group. NYC to shut down last migrant hotel after shelling out $170 million to crime-ridden shelter
It's the end of an error. New York City's last-standing — and most notorious — migrant hotel will soon stop housing illegal border crossers, The Post has learned. The once-four-star Row NYC hotel on Eighth Avenue in Midtown was repurposed in October 2022, so its 1,331 rooms could be used as a shelter while the Big Apple dealt with the crippling migrant crisis, but Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the city's $5.13 million-a-month contract with the hotel won't be renewed in April. 5 New York City's last-standing and most notorious migrant hotel – the Row NYC — will soon stop housing illegal border crossers. Other thugs staying there also attacked cops on numerous occasions, including a July 2024 incident where one officer was bit and other had a moped hurled at them. Workers there have also complained the hotel has become a wild 'free-for-all' of sex, drugs and violence after the city began housing migrants there,. 5 Dennis A. Although the precinct that seen a nearly 10% decline in crime this year compared to 2024, burglaries are up nearly 16% and felony assaults 2%, NYPD data as of Aug. 3 show. The migrant crisis has cost city taxpayers more than $8 billion since spring 2022 to provide food, shelter and other services to over 238,000 migrants who flooded into the country because of former President Joe Biden's lax border policies. At its peak, NYC used 220 hotels and other contracted sites to house the newcomers.
