Earlier, in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army held a 'Chiefs Chintan' at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi to strengthen coordination between former Chiefs of Army Staff and to leverage their expertise and strategic insights.
'Chief's Chintan, an interaction between General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS and the former CsOAS, was held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event, conducted after Operation SINDOOR, aims to leverage the vast experience and strategic insights of former CsOAS to shape the Indian Army's future,' read a post by the Army on X.
According to an official statement, the event had a comprehensive operational briefing on Operation Sindoor, including discussing the synergised conduct of operations with the Indian Air Force and Navy.
'The operation's execution, strategic impact and jointmanship model were presented in detail to provide contextual understanding and invite insights from the former Chiefs. The former Chiefs were also updated on the induction of niche technologies and modernisation initiatives aimed at enhancing operational capabilities,' the statement added.
The army said that the former CsOAS shared 'valuable insights and recommendations, contributing to ongoing capability enhancement and organisational reforms.'
Other topics such as technological initiatives for tech absorption, the plan of 'Viksit Bharat @2047' and the Army's contributions to it, and Human Resource and Veteran Welfare, including reforms in HR policies and initiatives for welfare schemes for veterans.
The former CsOAS shared insights and recommendations. contributing to the Indian Army's ongoing efforts towards capability enhancement and organisational reform.
The statement added, 'The interaction reaffirms the continuity of leadership and collective commitment to keep the Indian Army future-ready.' (ANI)

Gurugram celebrated the 79th Independence Day on Friday with a vibrant display of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. 'These operations are proof that India will no longer remain silent in the face of terrorism. Every citizen must stand united to protect the nation's honour, security, and integrity,' said Rana. Rana also envisioned Gurugram as a future hub for both economic activity and eco-tourism, announcing projects such as the country's largest jungle safari in the Aravalis, a Central Park-inspired 'Anand Van', an international conference centre, a grand aquarium, and a world-class Disneyland-style attraction. It was heartwarming to see three generations come together to honour our country.' In Sector 50, Fresco Apartment RWA president Nilesh Tandon remarked, 'Our celebrations brought together residents from all walks of life. The flag hoisting was the proudest moment, and the cultural performances by our children truly reflected our unity in diversity.' Central Park residents gathered for an early-morning flag hoisting followed by songs, dances, and cultural skits. 'Independence Day here is a community tradition here,' said a resident. 'We celebrate like one big family.' At Iris Broadway, executive director Aman Trehan said, 'Every festival here is celebrated with enthusiasm. This Independence Day, we honoured 79 years of freedom while promoting wellness and community bonding. The turnout was incredible, and the spirit unmatched.' Ambience Mall marked the occasion with 'Humare Rakshak,' an installation paying tribute to India's armed forces. Featuring scale models of the S-400 missile launcher, Akash, BrahMos, and Pichora missiles, as well as fighter jets like the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, MiG, and Mirage 2000, the display was crafted from upcycled materials. Tourism, Welfare In Focus In Rekha's I-Day Address
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta used her maiden Independence Day address at Chhatrasal Stadium to unveil initiatives spanning worker welfare, women's empowerment, environmental renewal and tourism development. Gupta also announced an ambitious tourism blueprint for Delhi, which included a 12-km Chhath Ghat along the Yamuna, a regular Yamuna Aarti, a heritage tourism circuit, and a river cruise service. On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Delhi govt will launch the Atal Canteen scheme to provide hygienic, nutritious meals to workers for just Rs 5, she said. She described herself as Delhi's "mukhya sevika" and vowed that her govt would rid the capital of garbage, corruption and bureaucratic hurdles. She later met and congratulated the marching contingents who had also waited in the heavy downpour. For women in labor-intensive jobs, including taxi drivers, 500 centres and crèches will be set up, she said. Govt has already upgraded 300 Anganwadi centres with modern facilities and improved safety standards. "These measures will transform the lives of the poor and working classes and ensure no one is left behind in Delhi's progress," the CM said. In a strong pitch for environmental reform, Gupta declared that Delhi's future "will not be defined by its problems but by the bold solutions we implement today."
