Geagea warns against reshuffling cards, causing further losses
NNA - Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said, "Lebanon has turned the page on the past with all its tragedies and woes. We have embarked on a new era, and we now have hope of emerging from the current situation."
He added, "We have struggled in recent years for the establishment of a real state in Lebanon, and we have won this challenge by rebuilding the state in parallel with the election of a new president, the appointment of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and the formation of the government."
Geagea, however, expressed surprise at "the recent launch of new rockets towards Israel, at a time when the state remains absent, which threatens to reshuffle the cards and cause further human and material losses."
His words came during a celebration organized by the Lebanese Forces Party in Maarab on the occasion of "Mother's Day" on Saturday evening.
In a word of tribute to mothers of martyrs, Geagea said the call of the mothers of fallen martyrs is the "strongest and most precious of all calls."
He added: "Rest assured that the memory of the martyrs is always with us, and I personally always remember them, for the simple reason that their memory keeps us from losing our bearings. The proof is that for 40 years until today, the Lebanese Forces party has only taken the straight path, which we have continued on until today, because the martyrs paved this path for us. Therefore, when we remember them, it becomes very difficult to choose another path."
Geagea continued, "The youth did not die in vain; they sacrificed their lives to build a nation and were martyred for the survival of society."

Geagea says Israeli airstrikes on Dahieh a 'major scandal'
by Naharnet Newsdesk 9 hours Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has said that the latest Israeli airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs were a 'major scandal,' seeing as 'eight months after the signing of the ceasefire agreement in November 2024, Beirut is being bombed again.' 'They are telling us that that happened because Israel is barbarous … We know that, but what have you done to prevent that?' Geagea wondered, stressing that 'the solution comes through the clear regional equation and the clear international equation.' 'We need someone to endorse these equations so that we manage to solve our problems,' the LF leader added, emphasizing that 'it it unacceptable for the Lebanese citizen to remain in danger of being bombed or killed in any given moment, whereas there is a solution.' He added that the solution takes places when Hezbollah and its allies allow the Lebanese state to become an 'actual state,' lamenting that state officials are also being lenient with Hezbollah regarding its weapons. 'Today Lebanon has a chance and I don't know if this chance will still be there two months from now. We have major friends in this world, starting by the Gulf countries, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States. They can help us stop the Israeli attacks and they can help us remove the Israelis from Lebanon, but on the condition that we become an actual state,' Geagea said. He also noted that 'verbal attacks' on Israel cannot resolve Lebanon's problems.

Samir Geagea slams Beirut strikes as 'scandal,' urges end to chaos and real statehood
The head of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, said the recent events in Beirut were a 'major scandal,' condemning the repeated strikes following the ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024. He mocked those who merely blamed Israel, saying: 'If Israel is acting recklessly, then it's your responsibility to act in a way that prevents it from doing so.' Geagea stressed that the solution lies in a 'clear regional and international framework,' adding: 'We must put an end to this chaos.' He said Lebanon has a historic opportunity for external support, provided that the state is no longer undermined and becomes a functioning, sovereign authority. He also strongly criticized what he called those 'obsessed' with Israel, saying that constant resistance against the enemy is no longer effective, and called for practical alternative solutions. He cited Syria and its president Ahmed al-Sharaa as an example, saying al-Sharaa was able to secure his country's eastern border within months, while Lebanon still struggles to build the foundation of a real state — despite potential Gulf and international support. Geagea warned that continuing with the current path would lead to Lebanon 'falling out of history,' stressing that 'nations that do not govern themselves properly eventually disappear.' He called for a continued struggle to preserve Lebanon's identity and existence.
