Ruegg to face Dillon for Commonwealth Silver title at Collision on the Coast
MACE Ruegg will take on Liam Dillon for the vacant Commonwealth Silver Lightweight title at the Bournemouth International Centre in March.
The Bournemouth fighter was scheduled to face Joseph Butler at Collision on the Coast on March 1, but after Archie Sharp withdrew from his fight with Dillon, Ruegg has stepped in.
The 24-year-old has an undefeated record of 12-0 to Dillon's 14-2-1 record.
Dillon most recently beat Stefan Vincent on points, after losing to Reece Bellotti and Ryan Garner – the latter fighter headlining the show at the BIC as he defends his WBC International belt and aims at the vacant EBU Super-Featherweight title.
Ruegg comes into the fight after a victory over Brayan Mairena in November at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth.

Danica Patrick Announces Relationship Status After Aaron Rodgers Claims
Danica Patrick left no doubt about her relationship status during a recent podcast interview. Patrick, 43, has largely kept quiet about her current dating life, though she did have plenty to say last month about her past high-profile relationship with NFL star Aaron Rodgers. In a new appearance on the "Believe in the Good" podcast with Haley Dillon, the wife of NASCAR driver Ty Dillon, Patrick confirmed she is unattached when Dillon asked about her personal life. 'Are you single right now?' Dillon asked, to which Patrick replied, 'Yeah.' "I'm going to be interested to see who's sliding into my DMs to get to your DMs," Dillon joked as Patrick laughed. Patrick has been in several relationships with public figures, both during and after her days as a competitive race car driver. She was married to Paul Edward Hospenthal from 2005 until their divorce in 2013. Patrick also dated NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. from 2012-17 and Rodgers from 2018-20. During an appearance on 'The Sage Steele Show" in May, Patrick raised eyebrows when she accused the four-time NFL MVP of being "emotionally abusive." 'Because it was sudden, it felt like. It was my life. So like when you live with somebody, it's your whole life,' Patrick said. 'And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.' Patrick went on to claim Rodgers "leaves a trail of blood" and appeared to make reference to his much-publicized NFL exits from the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets. 'People could never imagine that I would lack … any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits,' Patrick added, via People. 'Yeah, he leaves a trail of blood. I don't think I'm saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we — there's been enough out there." Following her breakup with Rodgers, Patrick was in a relationship with American businessman Carter Comstock from 2021 to 2022. UFC Cuts Hard-Luck Veteran Mired In Nasty Losing Streak
LAS VEGAS, NV - MAY 24: Dana White speaks with the press following the event for Power Slap 2 - ... More Wolverine vs Bell on May 24, 2023, at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV. (Photo by Louis Grasse/PxImages/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) The UFC's roster recycling is still in full effect. Most recently the promotion has parted ways with several featherweight fighters ahead of a major pay-per-view card, including one prospect who never found his footing inside the Octagon. Connor Matthews, a once-promising talent from Massachusetts who entered the UFC with high hopes and resilience after a failed attempt on the Dana White Contender Series, has been released after a trio of tough outings. His removal from the roster came the same day as the releases of Kron Gracie and Hakeem Dawodu from the roster–all were once featherweight hopefuls. ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY - MARCH 27: Connor Matthews poses for a portrait during a UFC photo ... More session on March 27, 2024 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images) Matthews' UFC journey was a brief and an unforgiving one. Matthews' first attempt to join the UFC roster was a failure as he was defeated by Francis Marshall in 2022. Matthews went back to the indy scene and scored a first-round submission win to earn another shot at the UFC. In his second shot on DWCS, Matthews earned a contract with a unanimous decision win over Jair Farias in 2023. Matthews entered the promotion with a 7-1 record and a reputation for finishing fights, but he failed to notch a single win as a member of the UFC's main roster. What's worse, all three of his losses came in the first round—two by knockout and one by submission. Matthew's final appearance, a tap-out loss to Yadier Del Valle on May 17, sealed his fate with the organization. Despite his fan-friendly style and resilience, Matthews became another example of how tough the UFC featherweight division can be on newcomers. (Photo by) As I mentioned, Matthews wasn't the only name trimmed from the roster. Gracie, the nephew of UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie, was also released following a dismal stretch that saw him lose three consecutive fights. Known for his grappling pedigree, Gracie never evolved beyond his jiu-jitsu roots and was knocked out by Bryce Mitchell in his most recent bout. ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - SEPTEMBER 27: (L-R) Hakeem Dawodu of Canada faces Zubaira ... More Tukhugov of Russia in their featherweight bout during UFC 253 inside Flash Forum on UFC Fight Island on September 27, 2020 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC) Dawodu, meanwhile, had a longer run with the promotion but couldn't overcome a tough final chapter. After missing weight in a 2022 loss to Julian Erosa and pulling out of a scheduled fight in 2023, he returned to drop a decision to Cub Swanson last August. That marked his third loss in four appearances, and ultimately, his UFC run came to an end this week as well. The timing of these cuts precedes one of the year's most anticipated events. UFC 316 takes place Saturday, June 7, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Headlining the card is a bantamweight title clash between current champion Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley in a long-awaited rematch. In the co-main event, Julianna Peña puts her women's bantamweight crown on the line against Olympic gold medalist and PFL crossover star Kayla Harrison. Other matchups include Kelvin Gastelum vs. Joe Pyfer, Mario Bautista vs. Patchy Mix (who is making his UFC debut following his time as Bellator bantamweight champion), and a welterweight showdown between Vicente Luque and Kevin Holland. Here is a look at the entire card.

Midnight Mania: ‘Sex Is Better After A War'
Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC Welcome to Midnight Mania! Let's start the night off by taking look back over the three biggest stories of Thursday, June 5, 2025. Free UFC 316 PPV? 'It's so easy to stream it,' says Sean O'Malley, 'You just enter the link; boom, it's right there': Sean O'Malley is correct, of course, but this is just generally true of the modern internet: most copyrighted content can be found so easily. I had to learn how to torrent files as a teen! Alexander Volkanovski shares next title defense update: 'The rumors are true': Yair Rodriguez receiving the next Featherweight shot would truly be all-time bad matchmaking. Send Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby to the Hague! Ex-NFL star and UFC outcast Greg Hardy arrested for allegedly assaulting a family member: Shocking that getting knocked out a few times didn't quell Hardy's alleged violent tendencies. Insomnia Listen to the audio closely here for a sample of 'Big Mouth' at his finest. 'Sex is better after a war,' Kevin Holland tells Vicente Luque. 'You don't think so? Or you don't have sex?' Advertisement I genuinely didn't remember Kamaru Usman's undefeated streak going THAT long, and I was watching/writing about the whole thing! Arman Tsarukyan lives a bougie lifestyle outside of fighting. Chase Hooper vs. Alexander Hernandez at UFC 319 ... from the horse's mouth! I like Hooper to lose the first and win the next two rounds or possibly force a late finish. Patchy Mix is talking really big game ahead of UFC 316, putting himself in a win-or-be-embarrassed position. Exciting! I recommend treating this line of thinking with some random pro Flyweight. Visualization is a powerful tool! It's hard to favor anyone's chances against Merab right now, but Sean O'Malley has a reasonable shot at catching anyone on the Bantamweight roster. Slips, rips, and KO clips Very few boxers have entered the matrix quite like Vasiliy Lomachenko. Enjoy retirement, champ! Incredible crowd atmosphere on this KO: Advertisement Same side head kicks following a straight are always dangerous, but the half-a-beat pause on this one is SLICK stuff. Random Land Frightening explosions in Kyiv. Midnight Music: Hip-hop, 2001 Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way. More from
