Attendance exemption fee payment date for Inter exam announced
Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) on Wednesday announced fee payment due dates for private candidates seeking a grant of exemption from attendance to appear for the intermediate public advanced humanities with arts/humanities combinations in May or June.
TGBIE released the supplementary exam timetable and exams will be conducted from May 22 to 29 and practical exam will be on June 3.
According to TGBIE officials, the provision of granting of exemption from attendance (without college study) to the science candidates was dispensed with from IPE September 1997.
The prescribed fee is Rs 500 for granting of exemption. The fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted in case the candidates found are ineligible to appear for IPASE May/June 2025 and last date of payment is on April 28.
The incomplete applications and applications received without enclosing original qualifying examination certificate(s), Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate together with Eligibility Certificate in respect of candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than S.S.C., of Telangana State will be rejected summarily without any further correspondence. the online Exemption application.
All private candidates who are granted exemption from attendance and who intend to appear for 1st or 2ndyear in IPE for the first time will have to answer the papers as per the syllabus prescribed for the Regular students. The candidates are directed to apply for attendance exemption online by visiting the website table.cgg.gov.in and they shall upload the scanned copy of the originals, said a senior officer, TGBIE.

1.2 lakh orphans across Maharashtra fail to get monthly assistance of Rs 2,250 from state govt
Nashik: More than 1.2 lakh orphaned children across Maharashtra have not received the monthly monetary assistance from state govt since Sept 2024. The guardians of these children have alleged that the assistance was stopped after state govt began providing aid to women through the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The children are given assistance under the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Child Care Scheme. The list includes children who lost either one or both their parents due to Covid-19. A senior officer from the Women and Child Development Commissionerate, Pune, admitted that there were more than 1.2 lakh such orphans across the state who received the assistance and have not received any money for 10 months now. "There has been some technical issue regarding funds, and as soon as it is resolved, the funds will be cleared," he said on the condition of anonymity. When asked if the reason for the non-disbursal of funds to these orphans was connected to the Ladki Bahin scheme, the officer refused to comment. Despite several attempts, state minister for women and child development Aditi Tatkare was not available for comment till the time of going to press. The beneficiaries include orphans under the age of 18, children whose parents cannot be traced, kids who have not been adopted, those who have lost one parent or are impacted due to family disputes and under govt child care. Bangalore University defends tree removal, pledges environmental compliance
Bengaluru: Following public protest over removal of trees for the construction of a new academic building, Bangalore University defended its move saying construction is being carried out in full compliance with regulations. At a press conference on Friday, vice-chancellor Jayakara Shetty said: "While reports claimed 419 trees would be cut, in reality, only 282 trees are being affected — of which 169 are eucalyptus and acacia species. The remaining 137 trees, located in the buffer zone, will be preserved. Additionally, the smaller trees will be transplanted nearby. All construction is being carried out in full compliance with legal and environmental regulations," he said. The university officials also criticised the protests against the construction by outsiders: "The university is an academic space, not a public ground. The university will not tolerate any form of coercion by outsiders. So far, we have remained silent, but we will discuss the issue concerning the walkers' association in the upcoming syndicate meeting and initiate legal action.
