‘Young Gun' convicted by Putnam County jury for 2023 murder
A Putnam County Jury has found a man guilty of a 2023 murder committed when he was just 17 years old.
The 2nd-degree murder conviction came down Wednesday after a two-day trial.
The State Attorney's Office said the crime was committed at a Palatka home on April 7th, 2023.
In 2023, Action News Jax reported that it happened in the 700 block of North 16th Street in Palatka.
At the time, Price has been invited there by his girlfriend. Officials said that when he walked in, another young man stood up, ready to fight. That's when Price pulled out a gun and shot him in the torso, before running away.
The injury left Jermarien Edwards dead at the scene.
The State Attorney's Office said multiple people in the home saw the murder happen and identified Price as the suspect.

He was located 20 days later by U.S. Marshals in New Jersey.
'This case is a stark example of Young Gun defendants' total disdain for the sanctity of life,' State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. 'Gun violence and murder have become too commonplace for these offenders.'
'Young Gun' refers to Operation Young Guns, a multi-county initiative launched in 2022 to address a reported increase in violent gun crime among teenagers and young adults.

'The goal of our operation is not just cooperation, because we have great cooperation within the 7th Circuit, but to also attack this problem and get these folks off the street that are committing these violent crimes,' State Attorney Larizza said during its launch.
Price is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10th, 2025. He faces up to life in prison.

Caught on camera: Man hit by driver at Southside car meet
Video circulating on social media shows the moment a man was hit by a driver at a car meet in a Southside parking lot. Witnesses said that it was supposed to be just a 'park and chill' type of meet. In dash camera video provided to Action News Jax, you can see the car speed across the parking lot before hitting the victim. People then started running over to see if he was okay. Watch the video below at your own discretion: >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks] Witnesses said the victim was trying to stop the driver, who they claim was driving recklessly. 'This car came up and he started doing donuts,' said Brandon Ferrill, who is part of the local car community. 'And first of all, that's dangerous in any parking lot, but this was a crowded parking lot.' 'He showed up to what was otherwise a pretty civilized event. It was just people hanging out here, chilling with their cars and they were here to talk. No one was driving around or anything,' said Ferrill. Another video shows a different angle of the collision. It appears the car swerved before hitting the man, and then took off. Action News Jax spoke with the man who was injured in the video, who said he had been released from the hospital. He said he had a head injury, but is now recovering. We asked JSO if they are investigating the incident, and a spokesperson said they were not aware of the incident or the video. We also requested reports Friday afternoon to see if police responded to the area the night this happened. We are waiting to hear back. As a member of the local car community, Ferrill said they don't stand for any kind of reckless behavior at their meets. 'We need to make sure that we set an example of responsible car ownership,' said Ferrill. [SIGN UP: Action News Jax Daily Headlines Newsletter]
