NEW DELHI:
Adani Group
chairman, Gautam Adani, 62, earned a total salary of Rs 10.41 crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2025. This marks a 12% increase from the Rs 9.26 crore the India's second-richest man earned in FY24, according to the latest annual reports of his group companies.
Despite his massive wealth and control over a vast ports-to-power empire, Adani's salary remains lower than that of several key executives within his own group.
His pay came from just two of the nine listed firms under the Adani Group, reflecting a relatively modest compensation when compared to industry peers and even his own leadership team.
Earlier in 2024-25, Gautam Adani earned Rs 2.54 crore from
Adani Enterprises
Ltd (AEL), which included Rs 2.26 crore as salary and Rs 28 lakh in perks and allowances.
This was slightly higher than Rs 2.46 crore he earned from AEL the previous year. He also received Rs 7.87 crore from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), consisting of Rs 1.8 crore salary and Rs 6.07 crore commission.
How much do Adani's top executives earn?
AEL CEO Vinay Prakash was the highest paid, with a total remuneration of Rs 69.34 crore, including Rs 4 crore salary and Rs 65.34 crore in allowances and performance-linked incentives "for exceptional operational and financial performance in the mining services and integrated resources management business of the company".

Adani Green Energy MD Vneet S Jaain earned Rs 11.23 crore, while Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh received Rs 10.4 crore.
At Adani Ports, Gautam Adani's son Karan Adani drew Rs 7.09 crore, and CEO Ashwani Gupta earned Rs 10.34 crore. Variable pay for both will be given in FY26, the annual report said.
Gautam Adani's younger brother Rajesh earned Rs 9.87 crore from AEL, while his nephews Pranav and Sagar received Rs 7.45 crore and Rs 7.50 crore respectively.
Adani Total Gas CEO Suresh Manglani earned Rs 8.21 crore, and Adani Energy Solutions CEO received Rs 14 crore, while Adani Power CEO SB Khayalia was paid Rs 9.16 crore.
Adani's salary is lower than that of nearly all leaders of major family-owned conglomerates in India.
While
Mukesh Ambani
has not taken any salary since the Covid-19 pandemic began and previously capped his pay at Rs 15 crore.
Gautam Adani's remuneration is much lower than other top industry leaders.
For comparison, telecom chief Sunil Bharti Mittal earned Rs 32.27 crore in 2023-24, Rajiv Bajaj got Rs 53.75 crore, Pawan Munjal received Rs 109 crore, L&T Chairman S N Subrahmanyan took Rs 76.25 crore in FY25, and Infosys CEO Salil S Parekh earned Rs 80.62 crore in FY25.
Gautam Adani, with a net worth of $82.5 billion (as per Bloomberg Billionaires Index), has been competing closely with Mukesh Ambani for the title of Asia's richest person. Adani briefly held the top spot in 2022 but lost it after a report by US short-seller Hindenburg Research led to a massive $150 billion drop in his group's market value at its lowest point in 2023. Currently, Adani stands at 20th.

Here's when Elon Musk's Tesla is planning to launch its robo taxi service in US

Representative Image Elon Musk has announced a "tentative" launch date for Tesla's robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, set for June 22. The Tesla CEO made this announcement in a post shared on the social media platform X (earlier Twitter), indicating that he'll be travelling from Los Angeles to Austin for the kickoff. Previously, the tech billionaire mentioned a June launch window for the service. When inquired about the start of public rides for the service, Musk specified June 22 as the current plan. He also noted that the first driverless trip from the Tesla factory to a customer's house is scheduled to occur on his birthday, June 28. In his X post, Musk wrote: 'Tentatively, June 22. We are being super paranoid about safety, so the date could shift. First Tesla that drives itself from factory end of line all the way to a customer house is June 28.' The clip showed a black Model Y SUV, marked with a 'Robotaxi' logo, navigating an intersection and pausing for pedestrians, without a human driver inside. Musk said the pilot phase will be limited, starting with 10 to 20 vehicles equipped with a new 'unsupervised' version of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. These initial tests will use the Model Y, rather than the upcoming CyberCab, which is scheduled for production next year. He added that the rollout will be 'geofenced,' meaning the robotaxis will only operate within specific areas, and Tesla employees will monitor them remotely. While some Tesla fans are excited by the launch in Austin, critics, particularly those concerned about road safety and Musk's political affiliations, have raised objections and are planning protests. Will implement Centre's schemes in Delhi: Shivraj Singh Chouhan to farmers

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Wednesday met farmers from different parts of Delhi in Tigipur village and assured them that all of the Centre's agricultural welfare schemes will be implemented in the Capital soon. Addressing a gathering of farmers from the city's rural belts, Chouhan said, 'Delhi's farmers were left out of the central government's schemes earlier due to the previous government. The state government has to send us a proposal… I have spoken to the Chief Minister, and she will soon send a proposal to ensure these are rolled out.' Chouhan is on the last leg of his 15-day programme, Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, under which he has travelled to 14 states already and is interacting with farmers directly. 'There is great demand for fruits and vegetables in Delhi. If agriculture is strengthened here, it will not just benefit the city but also ensure India's economy grows — because even today, half our population is dependent on farming,' he said. Farmers present at the event raised several concerns, including high electricity costs, lack of subsidies, and no retail outlets for fertilisers. 'We don't get any subsidy. And if there is, the process is too complicated to understand,' said a farmer. Another noted that tractors with Delhi registration numbers are charged commercial tax, which increases their input cost, so farmers have to purchase tractors from neighbouring Haryana. A mushroom farmer from Tigipur, cultivating on just two acres, said he spends Rs 40 lakh a year and makes Rs 10-15 lakh in profit by selling directly to Azadpur mandi and contracting with factories. A strawberry grower, with 10 acres under cultivation, said he earns Rs 12-13 lakh per acre. 'We plant strawberries in October and inter-crop it with sweet corn and capsicum later. We sell to Reliance, BigBasket and local mandis,' he said. 'There are some farmers who are doing very well and earning a lot. We also need to learn their best practices' Chouhan said at the chaupal. The cost of inputs remains a problem for farmers of the national capital. 'Agriculture doesn't exist in Delhi for the government. So, our electricity is charged at commercial rates, which is extremely high,' said another farmer. 'There is also no IFFCO shop in Delhi from where we can buy fertilisers,' another said. Chouhan said the government is planning to adopt a 'One Nation, One Farm, One Team' approach. 'Policies must not be made sitting in offices. The agriculture department, research scientists, and agricultural universities must go to villages and speak to farmers. Only then can we find solutions together,' he added.
