Adelaide Crows SANFL player Blake Drury and Central District's Aiden Grace serve secret bans after ‘hot mic' incident
A second Adelaide Crows footballer in as many days has been found to have been banned over sexually inappropriate behaviour towards a woman. Blake Drury, a SANFL-listed player who is hoping for an AFL lifeline in Wednesday night's mid-season draft, was caught in a 'hot mic' moment following a recent promotional shoot. Drury, 21, was in conversation with Central District vice-captain Aiden Grace, 27, during a break in recording for a shoot to promote the recent representative clash between SANFL and WAFL players. Two of the state league's most recognisable names, the pair did not realise the camera was rolling when they made sexually explicit remarks about a female SANFL staff member in the room. It was the victim herself who later discovered the comments, which are too vulgar to report. Drury and Grace have already served bans that had been kept secret until now. The SANFL told 7NEWS that both Drury and Grace were punished over what it described it as 'unacceptable conduct'. '(The league) immediately investigated and addressed the matter, with both players sanctioned,' it said. The players were mysteriously withdrawn from the SA team that faced WA on May 17, and 7NEWS can now reveal the SANFL quietly hit them with one-game suspensions. Drury and Grace have since sent written apologies to the woman involved and have received education around respect for woman. 'We were extremely disappointed by the inappropriate comments made by the players and continue to provide support to our staff member impacted,' the SANFL told 7NEWS in a statement. Adelaide released a statement to 7NEWS on Wednesday night, saying they're extremely disappointed and angered by Drury's actions. Drury spent two years on North Melbourne's AFL list, playing 10 games across 2023-24, before joining Adelaide's SANFL side for this year. He nominated for the AFL mid-season draft taking place on Wednesday night. The new scandal comes just days after it was revealed another Adelaide player sent a photo of a woman without her consent to a former teammate earlier this year. 'It had been addressed. What we addressed was that it's unacceptable, it's not who we are,' Crows AFL coach Matthew Nicks said. Drury and the unnamed Crows player involved in the earlier incident received bans from the club.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning star Hayley Atwell 'in awe' of Tom Cruise's work ethic
Hayley Atwell was in awe of Tom Cruise's work ethic on 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One'. The 43-year-old actress joined the action-thriller franchise as her former professional thief-turned-Impossible Mission Force (IMF) agent alter ego, Grace, in the 2015 prequel to 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning'. And Atwell regarded the 'Top Gun' star's devotion to creating movies, including performing hellraising, daredevil stunts, as "remarkable". She told "We filmed Grace's first-ever introduction in the second film, so her first appearance in the movie is the last thing that I shot. "I remember that day, Tom had said, 'Movies are not something I do, it's who I am.' And I could see that. I saw that every day for five years. He lives it and breathes it and has devoted his life to it. "So, to work with someone with that kind of work ethic is remarkable." Cruise, 62 - who has suffered various injuries during his career, including a broken ankle while shooting 2018's 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' when performing a stunt that saw him jump between buildings - previously admitted he always goes "too far" with his aerobatic performances. However, one stunt of Cruise's that Atwell would have loved to have done was when he had to hang upside down on cables to shoot the scene where Ethan breaks into the CIA's vault in the first 'Mission: Impossible' flick that came out in 1996. Speaking about that legendary stunt - which almost never happened because Cruise kept falling during takes and the movie's director, Brian De Palma, wanted to move on to filming other scenes - Atwell said: "Probably the vaults in the first one. Yeah, that's the one I remember the most growing up. It's quite iconic, so I'd like to give that a go." Atwell returns as Grace in what is slated as the final 'Mission: Impossible' movie, 'The Final Reckoning', which sees Ethan and the Ethan Hunt and the IMF team hunt down the deadly artificial intelligence, Entity. And her highlight was spending time in the Arctic Circle to film some scenes for the Paramount movie. Atwell said: "I never thought I would be filming in the Arctic Circle, waiting for a polar bear to cross our path before we could carry on shooting. "It's an extraordinary place to visit, but to then live there and work there for that time and to be with the incredible people, from the dog sled handlers to the Polar X company, who are on both polar bear patrol and keeping us safe. "It was all kind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, really, and I just loved it. I was so, so privileged to be there."

US expat left baffled after Aussie's use bizarre phrase
A US expat in Australia has revealed a list of shocking surprises she's encountered since moving. 'I'm going to tell you all the crazy shit that goes on here that doesn't happen in the States,' she said. 'But for real, everybody here is barefoot. You know how in the states we have those signs that say 'no shoes, no shirt, no service' that's not a thing here.' The next on the list was Australia's obsession with nicknames. Harris said as soon as she introduced herself as Grace, it immediately switched up Gracie. 'They also walk on the left side of the street,' she said. 'I went to a Pilates class when I first moved here and they start everything with their left side' The young American woman from Nashville said she thought every Australian was fit, always working out, and healthy. Harris — who's on a working holiday visa — was upbeat about the surprises but was no less shocked. 'The freaking birds are the loudest thing, they sound to me like minions,' she said. Possibly the strangest complaint was the way Australians use the term dad. 'If I'm talking to somebody and they are referring to their dad, you would think they would say 'my dad', right? Nope, Harris was shocked. Australians instead say, 'Dad took me to the store, Dad dropped me off,' without adding the 'my' in front. 'That's your dad babe, that's not my dad, that's your daddy,' she joked. If you'd like to view this content, please adjust your . 'Well I'm not calling your dad, dad. So I'm obviously talking about my dad. That's the logic lol,' one user said. 'You're… shocked, that in a different country, everyone lives differently. How is this 'crazy'…' another said. Another user said: 'You are by far my favourite American in Australia!!' Grace also tried some classic Australian candy, with the favourites being Snickers pods and Milkybar.
