Karelina, a 32-year-old dual US-Russian citizen, was arrested in Yekaterinburg in February 2024 after reportedly donating just over $50 to a US-based charity that supported Ukraine. The Russian authorities accused her of aiding a foreign country against Russia's interests—a charge that led to her conviction for treason.
Her release came as part of a carefully brokered exchange involving Arthur Petrov, a Russian-German man who had been detained in the US for attempting to smuggle restricted microelectronics to Russia.
The swap took place in Abu Dhabi and included rare direct coordination between Russian and American intelligence and diplomatic services.
President Trump confirmed her release and said, 'They released the young ballerina and she is now out, and that was good. So we appreciate that.' He later met with Karelina, an encounter that symbolised the second successful prisoner swap since Trump returned to office and resumed diplomatic engagement with Moscow.
Her fiancé, professional boxer Chris van Heerden, expressed relief, saying she had 'endured a nightmare for 15 months.' He thanked Trump, the CIA, and figures like UFC president Dana White, who reportedly raised the case with the president directly. CIA Director John Ratcliffe credited US intelligence officers for their behind-the-scenes efforts, highlighting the importance of communication channels between Washington and Moscow.
Who is Ksenia Karelina?
Ksenia Karelina is a 32-year-old dual citizen of the United States and Russia.
She was born in Russia but had been living in Los Angeles, where she worked in the beauty industry.
Before moving to the US, she was a professional ballerina and lived in Maryland for some time.
In early 2024, she travelled to Russia to visit her family and was arrested by Russian authorities.
She was charged with treason after allegedly donating about $52 to a US-based charity that supported Ukraine.
Russian officials claimed the donation amounted to support for the Ukrainian military, though human rights groups said the charge was based solely on that one donation.
The US condemned the charges as politically driven and called the accusations 'absolutely ludicrous.'
Karelina's fiancé, boxer Chris van Heerden, thanked President Trump and his team for helping to bring her home.
Van Heerden described her ordeal as a '15-month nightmare' and said their dog, Boots, was also waiting for her.
Karelina had been held in Yekaterinburg, a Russian city known for detaining foreign nationals.
Her release came as part of a prisoner swap in which she was exchanged for Arthur Petrov, a Russian-German man convicted of smuggling in the US.

Musk Vs Trump: Dark MAGA Conspiracy Theory Sparks Fears Of Tech-Backed Coup In US
Last Updated: The 'Dark MAGA' theory claims Musk and other tech elites aim to replace Trump with a CEO-style leader, raising fresh questions amid Musk's public feud with the former president. Elon Musk's now-deleted post claiming Donald Trump's name appears in sealed Jeffrey Epstein files has sparked new scrutiny and reignited a conspiracy theory that links the Tesla CEO to a wider tech elite allegedly working to reshape American politics. The theory, dubbed 'Dark MAGA," suggests Musk was never truly backing Trump but was instead part of a secretive tech elite aiming to replace him with a CEO-style leader of their choosing, reports by the Daily Beast and the Daily Mail said. Musk's now-deleted post accusing Trump of being named in Jeffrey Epstein's files has only intensified speculation. The tech mogul claimed the documents have been kept secret before allegedly quietly erasing the post. The theory stems from Musk's symbolic shift during the 2024 campaign, where he was frequently seen wearing the black 'Dark MAGA" cap, a twist on Trump's red MAGA branding. Conspiracy theorists now argue this was always a signal and Musk's way of declaring he had infiltrated the movement with a different agenda. According to believers of the conspiracy, a shadowy network of billionaires including Musk and Peter Thiel, often referred to as the 'PayPal Mafia," want to dismantle democracy and transform the US into a corporatocracy led by a tech-appointed figurehead. Their supposed top pick? Vice President JD Vance. The firestorm erupted after Musk shared, then deleted, a tweet saying: 'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT." He later doubled down by sharing a resurfaced 1992 video showing Trump partying with Epstein, adding only an inquisitive emoji. The explosive post caused chaos online before Musk allegedly abruptly took it down. Responding to the allegation, JD Vance firmly rejected the claim, stating, 'Absolutely not, Donald Trump didn't do anything with Epstein." Vance also struck a conciliatory tone toward the Tesla boss, saying, 'I hope eventually Elon comes back into the fold." The feud between Musk and Trump reached boiling point after Musk blasted the president's multi-trillion-dollar tax-and-spend bill. In response, Trump warned he might cancel Tesla and SpaceX's government contracts to cut the deficit. Musk shot back, threatening to begin decommissioning SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft which is a vital link in NASA's space missions. Former Trump aide Steve Bannon took things further, urging the president to seize SpaceX using national security laws and punish Musk for disloyalty. Bannon called Musk a tech oligarch trying to 'hijack the republic." Adding fuel to the theory is the involvement of Curtis Yarvin, a coder-turned-philosopher whose 'Dark Enlightenment" ideas have reportedly influenced Silicon Valley's elite. Writing under the name Mencius Moldbug, Yarvin advocates for replacing democracy with a monarch-like CEO government, where billionaires call the shots, elections vanish, and the bureaucracy is gutted, according to the report by the UK-based Daily Mail. Advertisement The overlap between these views and Musk's real-world role in the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is striking. Under DOGE, more than 2.5 lakh government jobs have already been axed since Trump returned to power in January. top videos View All Meanwhile, JD Vance, who some believe is the group's chosen successor to Trump, continued defending the president, calling recent attacks 'corporate media lies". He said Trump was far more disciplined than critics claim, and that the gap between perception and reality is 'maybe the single biggest disconnect". YouTuber Khaby Lame reportedly arrested by ICE over alleged ‘illegal alien' accusations, internet reacts
In a plot twist nobody had on their 2025 bingo card, Khaby Lame, the TikTok king and the famous YouTuber with over 160 million followers has allegedly been arrested in the United States and thrown into ICE custody. That's right. The silent reaction king, famous for mocking absurd 'life hacks,' has now become the centre of an online storm. But before anyone starts hyperventilating, let us break down the drama. 🚨BREAKING: President Trump's ICE just officially arrested far-left TikToker, Khaby Lame, whom I reported as an illegal to the official DHS website, he's currently being held at the Henderson Detention Center and is in ICE CUSTODY. Khaby Lame has been arrested and detained by ICE. He is likely to be deported but is rich enough to stay anywhere he wants. Khaby Lame's alleged arrest sends internet into meltdown The chaos erupted when Bo Loudon, a self-proclaimed conservative commentator (and self-declared bestie of Barron Trump… yes, that Barron), went full keyboard warrior mode and dropped what he called a 'scoop.' According to Loudon, Khaby was arrested after he personally flagged him for being an 'illegal alien' and overstaying his visa. Meet far-left TikTok star "Khaby Lame."He's an ILLEGAL ALIEN!I've been working with the patriots at President Trump's DHS to make this was just ARRESTED in Vegas and is in ICE CUSTODY!To verify, go to ICE's Locator, type the A-number, and Senegal as country. In a series of wild posts on X (formerly Twitter), Loudon claimed the TikToker had 'evaded taxes,' was 'living on an invalid visa,' and had finally been 'nabbed in Las Vegas.' He even provided what he claimed was Khaby's A-Number and a screenshot from the ICE detainee locator site. U.S. Immigration Authorities Arrest TikTok Star Khaby LameAccording to American media, TikTok star Khaby Lame, who has over 162 million followers, was arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) due to an expired per the official Department of… But even the official ICE website came up empty. Still, the rumour mill did not stop churning. Reality check: Is it all just noise? Despite the viral drama and far-right celebration online, there is currently no official confirmation from ICE or Khaby's reps. What we do know is this: Khaby Lame was born in Senegal, raised in Italy since he was one year old, and only became an Italian citizen in 2022. He has mostly lived in Italy—so why he would suddenly get arrested in the US is raising more questions than answers. 🚨BREAKING: Far-left ILLEGAL ALIEN TikToker Khaby Lame was just ARRESTED and is now in ICE custody under President Trump.I discovered he was an illegal who overstayed an invalid VISA, evaded taxes, and I personally took action to have him one is above the law! Also, let's not forget that Khaby went from being a laid-off factory worker during the pandemic to becoming a global icon with collaborations alongside Will Smith and Tom Cruise. So, yes—he is kinda a big deal. The internet reacts: Chaos, memes, and confusion While some took the claims at face value and started a cancel-fest, many fans quickly came to his defence, calling the allegations xenophobic and baseless. 'Why would ICE even arrest someone who lives in Italy?' one user questioned. Another wrote, 'Sounds like someone's desperate for clout.' TikTok fame doesn't grant immunity—just ask Khaby Lame and his expired visa. So is Khaby Lame actually in detention or just the target of a social media smear campaign? Until we get that official statement, the internet remains shook, divided, and very, very confused.

NIA files chargesheet against Goldy Brar, four others in Gurugram club blasts case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against five persons, including Canada-based designated 'terrorist' Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, in connection with the 2024 twin bomb attacks at clubs in Gurugram, Haryana. The others named in the chargesheet are Sachin Taliyan, Ankit, Bhawish, and U.S.-based Randeep Singh alias Randeep Malik. The NIA has invoked provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. 'Barring Goldy Brar and Randeep Malik, all others have been arrested in the case,' the agency stated. The NIA said its probe had found the accused to be involved in the conspiracy to bomb the Warehouse Club and the Human Club, both located in Sector 29, Gurugram. The attacks were allegedly part of a broader plan by the proscribed terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) to 'spread communal disharmony and disrupt peace' in Haryana and neighbouring regions by unleashing violence. 'The attack, perpetrated by members and cadres of the proscribed BKI terror outfit, took place on December 10, 2024. NIA investigations later revealed that the deep-rooted terror conspiracy was hatched by Goldy Brar and his associates...,' the agency alleged in its statement. According to the NIA, the group forms part of a 'terror syndicate' that is actively engaged in extortion, raising funds for terror activities, procuring arms, ammunition and explosives, and 'promoting terror amongst the common people to threaten the integrity, security (including economic security), and sovereignty of the country.'
