Bengal porn racket case: Prime accused says she was framed, seeks fair probe
Kolkata: Shweta Khan alias Fultusi, the prime accused behind the West Bengal porn racket case, said on Thursday that she had been framed in the matter and her side of the story should also be heard.
The West Bengal Police arrested her on Wednesday night.
Khan will be presented at a trial court in the Howrah district later in the day. Earlier in the day, she was taken to the Domjur Rural Hospital in the same district, where she made these claims while speaking to the waiting media persons.
'I am being framed in the case. Let my side of the story be heard, also, and let the investigators check the facts. I have been arrested based on a complaint by the family members of a particular woman. That woman concerned is married and even has a kid,' Khan told media persons.
After being on the run for quite some time, Khan was arrested on Wednesday night from a hideout at Alipore in South Kolkata.
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, the policemen first arrested her son Aryan Khan and then her daughter Zoya Khan, a co-accused in the porn racket case. Based on the questioning of Aryan and Zoya, the state police arrested Shweta Khan, sources had said.
The main charges against Shweta, Aryan, and Zoya are holding a woman from the North 24 Parganas district captive for six months and brutally assaulting her with an iron rod after she refused to participate in pornographic video shoots allegedly orchestrated by the three accused.
Since Zoya is a minor, her case will be processed under the Juvenile Justice Act and referred to the Juvenile Justice Board.
Aryan has already denied his involvement in the porn racket and said that he had a relationship with the victim woman who wanted to marry him.
On Wednesday, police action in the matter was intensified after the National Commission for Women (NCW) took suo motu cognizance of the incident and wrote to the West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar, demanding immediate arrests under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The NCW also instructed the state police to ensure that the victim receives free medical treatment and psychological counselling.
Additionally, the Commission has directed the DGP to submit a detailed action-taken report within three days.
Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP President and Union Minister, Sukanta Majumdar, has alleged that Shweta Khan has close links with several senior leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

Police have registered a case under Sections 324(4) (mischief), 352 (assault) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation.

2 days after Rajasthan man dies in accident on Delhi-Jaipur highway, Gurgaon police yet to make any arrests
Two days after a 24-year-old from Rajasthan lost his life in an accident on the NH-48 Delhi-Jaipur highway in Gurgaon, the police are yet to locate the driver of the unidentified vehicle that allegedly crashed into his vehicle. Sumit Meena and four friends, all from Rajasthan, were travelling from Alwar to Delhi in a Hyundai I-20 on Wednesday when their vehicle met with an accident near Mannat Hotel at Sidhravali at around 3.30 am. While Sumit, who was from Sukhal village in Sawai Madhopur, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Civil Hospital at Sector 10, his friends, Niraj Saini, Ramprasad, Yuvraj, and Arman Khan, were injured. They are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. As per a complaint filed by Kamal Singh Meena, Sumit's father, at Bilaspur police station, the vehicle was driven by Niraj, 29, the son of Vinod Saini from Alwar, when it collided with an unidentified large vehicle. Kamal, in his complaint, alleged that Niraj was driving negligently and at high speed. 'I have three sons. My son Sumit was the middle child. On Tuesday, he had come to Alwar to meet his friends. The police have not shared any updates. I do not want to say more,' Kamal told The Indian Express on Friday. Based on the complaint and medical reports, the police have registered a case under sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 125(a) (rash or negligent act endangering human safety), and 281 (rash driving on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. 'The investigation is ongoing. We are awaiting the postmortem report of the deceased and statements from the injured once they recover. This judicial order came in response to a legal petition submitted by six cashew importing companies who suffered losses when their cargo went down with the vessel. The petitioning cashew importers maintained that their valuable consignments were aboard MSC Elsa 3 when it sank off Kerala's coastline on May 25, 2025. Their legal representative, Advocate Joy Thattil, informed the court that proceedings would resume at 1:45 PM on the same day, with expectations that the shipping company would present evidence of the required deposit payment. Kerala police have initiated criminal proceedings against the vessel's ownership, captain, and crew members on charges of reckless navigation.
