Ex Chelsea, PSG & AC Milan Legend Calls Simone Inzaghi ‘A Top Coach' – ‘He Was Close To Winning It All With Inter Milan'
Thiago Silva feels that Al-Hilal's Simone Inzaghi is a 'top coach' who 'came close to winning it all with Inter Milan.'
The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after his Fluminense team knocked Al-Hilal out of the Club World Cup.

Simone Inzaghi left Inter Milan in shock circumstances last month.
The 49-year-old departed the Nerazzurri just a few days after they had lost the Champions League final.
Furthermore, Inter had not just lost that final. They suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, Inter also lost out on the Serie A title to Napoli on the very last day of the season.
That did not stop Al-Hilal from breaking the bank to attract Inzaghi, however. Evidently, the former Lazio coach's previous work had convinced them, regardless of how the season ended.
Reportedly, Al-Hilal were negotiating with Simone Inzaghi in the build-up to the Champions League final.

And in the end, the 49-year-old chose the cash on offer from the Saudi club rather than staying at Inter or coaching at a high level at a different European club.

Fluminense defender Thiago Silva gave his thoughts on Inzaghi. 'He's a great coach,' said the iconic former Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and AC Milan defender.
'He's shown that this season.'
'With Inter he came close to winning it all, every trophy,' Silva noted.
'But he's a great coach. He has my respect.'
'Hopefully, next season things can go differently to what happened this season for him,' Silva added.

Manuel Neuer criticises Gianluigi Donnarumma over Jamal Musiala injury in Club World Cup clash
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has criticised his Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Gianluigi Donnarumma for the challenge which injured Jamal Musiala during Saturday's Club World Cup quarter-final. Musiala appeared to suffer a left ankle injury just before half-time when attempting to reach a ball that was smothered by Donnarumma. Advertisement The German rolled off the pitch and received treatment before the half ended. He was then replaced by Serge Gnabry after the break. Donnarumma appeared shaken after seeing Musiala's condition following their coming together. 'A situation where you don't have to go in like that.' Neuer said to media after the game, via Sky Germany. 'That's taking a risk. He takes the risk of injuring his opponent. 'I went to him and said, 'Don't you want to go to our player?' It's a matter of respect to go over and wish the guy all the best. He did it afterward … Fairness is always important. I would have reacted differently.' Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany told DAZN that Musiala, who left the pitch on a stretcher, had been taken to hospital. Donnarumma has not spoken publicly since the incident. The Athletic has approached his representatives for comment. Kompany said in his post-match news conference he has 'rarely been so angry' as he was at half-time, but he did not suggest this anger was directed at Donnarumma. He had earlier said the collision was an 'accident'. 'I've rarely been so angry at halftime,' Kompany added. 'There are many things in life that are important — much more important than this — but for these guys, it's their life. It's their life. Jamal lives for this. He came back from a setback and then this happens in the way it happens and you feel powerless. 'When I'm sitting here now, the thing that gets my blood boiling now, it's not the result, but the fact that it happened to someone that enjoys the game so much and is also so important for us.' 'If I jump on the lower leg with 100 kilos after a sprint, there's a high risk that something will happen,' Bayern board member for sport Max Erbel added, via Sky Germany. 'I don't think he did it intentionally, but he also didn't take any care.' Musiala has had misfortune with injury since signing a new contract in February. At the start of April, the 22-year-old sustained a hamstring issue which ruled him out for the rest of the season. Bayern's Club World Cup opener against Auckland City FC, in which Musiala scored a hat-trick after being brought on as a substitute, was his first game back. He then featured off the bench in Bayern's remaining two group games, before being unused in their last-16 win over Flamengo. Advertisement Bayern had already lost Josip Stanicic to injury earlier in the first half of the PSG game, with the full-back withdrawn for Sacha Boey in the 34th minute. Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele scored the goals for PSG in the 2-0 win. The French side will face the winner of Saturday's later quarter-final, when Real Madrid take on Borussia Dortmund, in their semi-final on Wednesday but will be without Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez in that, after both defenders were shown straight red cards during the win over Bayern. Thomas Müller bids farewell to Bayern Munich with loss in Club World Cup
ATLANTA — After the final whistle to his Club World Cup, Thomas Müller waved to the Bayern Munich fans one last time. His quarter-century with the German club is over. The 35-year-old Müller went out with a 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals on Saturday, a bittersweet ending to a tenure filled with so much glory. Müller came on as a substitute in the 80th minute and appeared to a draw a penalty in the waning seconds of stoppage time when PSG's Nuno Mendes delivered a high challenge in the area. But the video review showed that Mendes' foot struck the ball, just missing Müller's chin, and that finished off the PSG victory. 'I'm still fully in work mode now,' Müller said. 'It doesn't feel much different from before the game when we tried, and I also tried, to just get one round further.' He wasn't ready to reflect on his brilliant career at Bayern, which began when he joined the club as a 10-year-old in the summer of 2000. 'In the end, maybe we deserved more,' Müller said. 'But in football when you have these tight matches, it's sometimes a coin flip. And, yes, we lost it.' Müller made more appearances than any other player at Bayern, with more than 200 goals scored and more than 200 set up for others. He led the club to a record 13 Bundesliga titles, going out with one last championship this past season. But Bayern announced in April that it would not extend his hefty contract for another season. 'Of course, I am aware that this was my last game, and I will see what goes through my head in the coming days,' Müller said. He hasn't revealed his future plans, though there have been reports linking him to a possible move to U.S.-based Major League Soccer. 'At the moment, I'm not in the mood to share my deeper thoughts about my career,' Müller said. 'We lost a big fight, a very important game for us.' ___ AP freelance writer Allyn Tucker contributed to this report. ___ AP soccer:
