Andy Woodman confident Bromley can benefit from improved strength in depth

Goals from Michael Cheek in the first half and former Barnet striker Nicke Kabamba in added time at the end of the second sealed all three points after Bromley had launched their season with a goalless draw at Shrewsbury.
The Bees in contrast have had a frustrating start to life back in League Two, suffering a second successive 2-0 defeat after they went down to Fleetwood last weekend.
Woodman said: 'I made a few changes to the side from last week as I saw one or two things that I felt I needed to tweak and it paid off today.
'I thought we worked hard on and off the ball and made it difficult for Barnet to impose themselves on the game.
'I look at our bench this year compared to last season and we have real strength in depth now. I know I have another XI waiting in the wings who I can bring in at any time and they are really pushing the lads and chomping to start themselves.
'This has raised the standards all around the club and we are seeing this in the performances so far.'
Barnet manager Dean Brennan cut a disappointed figure at full-time.
But he refused to be too downbeat with such a long way to go in the season and is confident improvement will be around the corner once he gets his squad up to full strength.
He said: 'We have a few teething problems at the moment that we need to sort out. A few of the boys are missing, we still need to get some more minutes into some legs and it's up to me to sort it out.
'It's a long season and we still have 44 games to go. It was a tight game and we had some good chances, but the difference ultimately was Cheek and Kabamba, good players who we know about.
'We're frustrated as ultimately we lacked a bit of quality in both boxes, but we know we have the necessary quality when everyone is fit. It's a difficult moment right now, but we move on to the next game at Walsall looking to get it right.'

'Bournemouth laughing all the way to the bank' - is Ouattara wise business?

We asked for your views on Brentford agreeing a record deal of up to £42.5m for Bournemouth forward Dango you think the Burkina Faso international will improve Keith Andrews' team or are the Bees being overcharged? Here are some of your comments:George: A great acquisition, as always, from Brentford. A skilful and rapid carrier of the ball who knows how to cross into the box, which will pair well with Schade's great heading ability and Thiago's hold-up Quite an elegant solution to our problems. It looks like he would be more of a Mbeumo replacement, but the fact he can play through the middle also means that he can provide cover for losing Wissa. He seems to be an adaptable player that we will be able to develop in either role. The fee is excessive but that is what you pay for young players who are Premier League proven these days, I Nine goals, you're having a laugh! Bournemouth are laughing all the way to the If you strip it all back, the recruitment team are looking at a very small pool of players. They need someone of the right age who has Premier League experience and has a proven track record of goals. They don't come cheap and Ouattara ticks a lot of those A great purchase and a great replacement for Wissa. He can now go to Newcastle for around the same money, while we get a player who is proven and has a great His expected goals and assists per 90 minutes is high. You have to trust the club here. His flexibility across the frontline is great. Looking at the club's past business, it is hard to question the move without insider knowledge.
