MUSCAT, Oman, Aug. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Asyad Group, Oman's global integrated logistics provider, has successfully completed a high-precision breakbulk operation, transporting an ultra-heavy liquefied natural gas (LNG) cryogenic tank for Gas Lab Asia, moving the cargo from Northern India to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The operation reflects the Group's strong presence in delivering integrated logistics solutions for high-value, specialized projects.
The operation involved transporting a 115 metric ton pressurized tank, 28 meters in length and 5.5 meters in height. The cargo was hauled overland for 1,500 kilometers from Northern India to Mumbai port over a period of three weeks before being shipped across the Arabian Sea to its final destination in Dammam, KSA.
Commenting on the achievement, said Juma Al Maskari, Asyad Logistics Director said "Transporting this type of specialized cargo requires a high level of technical expertise, along with advanced operational coordination across countries. Our strategy in such projects demonstrates our ability to mobilize international resources across borders and efficiently manage high-value shipments through customized logistics solutions tailored to precise operational requirements."
The challenges of this operation stemmed from the sensitive nature of cryogenic gas storage tanks, which demand precise temperature and pressure control. Specialized equipment and custom handling where essential throughout the entire process. The entire move meticulously executed through detailed engineering assessments, route planning, compliance checks and last-mile coordination to ensure safety, integrity and efficiency at every stage.
This achievement further solidifies Asyad Group's growing record in executing precise logistics project across the GCC and South Asia. It also reinforces its position as a trusted partner for high-value & sensitive cargo movement, while advancing Oman Vision 2040 by strengthening the Sultanate's logistics infrastructure and positioning it as a globally competitive hub.

(@mfa_russia on X via PTI Photo) (PTI08_16_2025_000200B) New Delhi: India on Saturday welcomed the Summit meeting in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia and noted that their leadership in the pursuit of peace is highly commendable. "India appreciates the progress made in the Summit. The way forward can only be through dialogue and diplomacy. The world wants to see an early end to the conflict in Ukraine," MEA spokesperson said in a statement. This in a indirect message to both Ukraine and the EU to focus on an early peace settlement instead of dragging the war. Highly placed told ET that the ball is now in the courts of Ukraine and EU to work towards peace and final settlement. Earlier India had endorsed the Summit and suggested that it can contribute to the efforts. India is hoping that a ceasefire could lift additional 25 per cent tariffs imposed on it on account of buying Russian oil which Trump claimed is fuelling "war efforts". Meanwhile US President Donald Trump has suggested he may put off implementing secondary or penalty tariffs as a result of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin indicating that India may not be facing any extra secondary sanctions over and above 50 % tariffs. In an interview to US's Fox News after the talks, Trump said that he would consider the question of the penalty tariffs on Russian oil in "two or three weeks". Asked about tariffs on China which imports even more oil than India, Trump said that "because of what happened today, I think I don't have to think about that now," adding, "I think you know, the meeting [with Putin] went very well".

DDAs land licensing model bags ₹10,000 cr deal

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has awarded the first project under its new Special License Property (SLP) initiative to Fleur Hotels, a subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels, officials said on Saturday. The project is expected to generate approximately ₹ 10,000 crore over a 55-year period. "DDA had invited bids through a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued on May 2, 2025, for a 2-acre land parcel in Nehru Place earmarked for a five-star hotel. The bidding process, conducted on August 13, saw Fleur Hotels secure the project with an annual license fee offer of ₹ 27.19 crore, about 50 per cent higher than the reserve price of ₹ 18 crore," DDA said in a statement. This marks a major shift in DDA's land disposal policy. Moving away from the traditional freehold and perpetual lease models, the SLP initiative allows long-term development on an annual license basis. Reforms set into motion last year by Lt Governor VK Saxena, have yielded spectacular results in terms of revenue generation for the DDA even while facilitating the much needed developments in the capital, the statement added. According to officials, the ₹ 10,000-crore revenue estimate includes annual fee escalations over the 55-year license term. "This new model is expected to significantly boost DDA's income, while facilitating key infrastructure development across hospitality, healthcare, logistics, and retail sectors," the statement added. The project awarded to Fleur Hotels will see the development of "Aurika" at Nehru Place, one of Delhi's largest luxury hotels with over 500 rooms.
