1 dead, at least 2 others hurt after homemade fireworks cause explosion at Ohio home

The explosion occurred at a home in the 500 block of East Montrose Street in Liberty Township before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Liberty Township firefighters found heavy damage when they arrived on scene, but they couldn't find what caused the explosion.
A report from the fire department states that crews found three victims and one was stilled trapped inside the house.

Firefighters were able to get everyone out of the house and medics took them to the hospital.
Justin Braun, 34, died in the explosion and a 28-year-old and 4-year-old were hospitalized with critical injuries, WOIO-19 reported.
The fire department said a woman took herself to an area with injuries related to the explosion.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office told WOIO-19 that the occupants made homemade fireworks inside, which possibly caused the explosion.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal urges everyone to not try to make homemade fireworks or tamper with fireworks they have purchased. This incident is a tragic reminder of how dangerous this can be. The chemical mixtures and materials used in fireworks are extremely volatile and dangerous. When it comes to manufacturing fireworks, its best to leave it to the professionals.

Two children killed in Dallas crash Wednesday morning
Two children were among three people killed Wednesday morning in a car crash in Dallas. According to the Dallas Police Department, two vehicles were involved in the crash around 8 a.m. on East Clarendon Drive and North Street, less than one mile from the Dallas Zoo. Video of the scene from CBS News Texas Chopper showed a white Toyota SUV severely damaged with numerous airbags deployed. The other vehicle that appeared to be involved was a heavy duty pickup truck. Responding paramedics took four children and two adults to the hospital. Dallas police said "one adult, one juvenile and one child" died. They did not specify the conditions of the other victims. Dallas police have not yet identified anyone involved, or said what led up to the crash.

CDC shooter Patrick Joseph White's dad repeatedly called 911 fearing he was gunman
The father of the anti-vaxxer gunman who killed a cop when he fired more than 180 shots at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention repeatedly called 911 fearing that his son was responsible for the attack, newly released 911 calls show. Kenneth White had begged authorities for help as his son, Patrick Joseph White, was unleashing his reign of terror on the CDC's Atlanta headquarters last Friday, according to transcripts obtained by 11Alive. 'I'm very worried that he might have been involved in this shooting today,' the dad said in one call. CDC shooting suspect Patrick Joseph White expressed "discontent" with the COVID-19 vaccines before firing nearly 200 shots that struck six different CDC buildings. The Georgia man suspected of opening fire on Centers for Disease Control buildings near Emory University, killing one police officer, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and expressed "discontent" with COVID-19 vaccines, authorities said. Hundreds of shell casings were discovered at the scene of the shooting, which broke out the afternoon of Aug. 8 in Atlanta, according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey. Nearly 200 bullets struck six different CDC buildings, Hosey said in an update on Aug. 12. The suspect, identified over the weekend as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, was found dead on the second floor of a building that included a CVS store. It was later determined that his fatal gunshot wound was self-inflicted. White was on law enforcement's radar weeks before the shooting because he had expressed suicidal ideation, prompting contact with law enforcement. He had no known criminal history, Hosey said. DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose, a 33-year-old husband and father of two with another child on the way, was killed by one of the shooter's weapons, Hosey said. "He served with honor, courage and unwavering dedication.
