Kanye West reportedly relapsed into nitrous oxide use, leading to memory issues and strained relationships

Express Tribune21-02-2025

Kanye West is reportedly struggling with a relapse into nitrous oxide use, according to multiple sources close to the rapper.
The 47-year-old musician and designer, recently back in Los Angeles, allegedly began using the substance after dental work in January, with a friend stating that this marked the beginning of his return to laughing gas. Sources say the substance has intensified West's already erratic behavior, leading to further complications in his personal and professional life.
One insider reported to NYP that nitrous oxide use has caused tension in West's marriage to Bianca Censori, particularly after a Grammy party in early February. The source noted that West's behaviour in Los Angeles became more unpredictable, with the rapper engaging in actions not typical of him, especially when he was in Japan.

A third source explained that West uses nitrous oxide as a form of 'medication,' which reportedly triggers emotional and mental meltdowns when the effects wear off. The source described the aftermath of using the gas as a 'cultural Tourettes experience,' where West's thoughts become disjointed and he speaks without filter.
Concerns over West's mental state have been exacerbated by his increasingly erratic actions, such as recent controversial tweets and actions involving antisemitic comments and Nazi symbols. Sources say his memory has suffered, with some claiming that West often forgets conversations and facts within days.
The allegations against West's dentist, Thomas Connelly, have also resurfaced. Last year, Milo Yiannopoulos accused Connelly of intentionally getting West hooked on nitrous oxide to exploit his mental state.

Despite the controversy, West's camp remains tight-lipped about his recent struggles.
Sources close to West's marriage suggest the couple's relationship may not be over despite swirling rumours. Though West has faced significant personal challenges, those around him claim he is committed to his family and music.

Is Bianca Censori starting a cosmetics line? Kanye West's wife launches solo venture

Bianca Censori may be preparing to launch her own beauty brand, according to new business filings that hint at a solo move beyond her association with Kanye West. The 30-year-old has registered a company named Bianca Censori Inc. in California and a second under the same name in Australia, based in Alphington, near her parents' home. The filings, first reported by the US Sun, list Censori as both CEO and secretary of the American firm. However, she is not entirely distancing herself from her husband. Kanye West is named as a company director, with his legal representation, Manoj Shah, also involved. Though details about the company's purpose remain vague, the appointment of Hussein Lalani as chief financial officer provides a strong clue. Lalani is the founder of skincare brand Zensa, known for its microblading kits and numbing creams, suggesting that Censori's business could be beauty-related. Censori, a former architect for Yeezy, has largely remained in West's creative shadow since their relationship began. This new venture appears to mark her first step into independent branding under her own name. Speculation around the company's purpose grew after Lalani previously promoted a cryptocurrency called $YZY, intended for West's online platform. However, that release has since stalled without explanation.

Sabrina Carpenter roasts immature men in hilarious Manchild music video

Sabrina Carpenter is taking aim at emotionally immature partners in her new single Manchild, released June 5. The following day, the pop star unveiled a humorous and theatrical music video directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, in which she lampoons the absurdity of modern dating. Set to lyrics critiquing emotional immaturity — 'Stupid, or is it slow / Maybe it's useless / But there's a cuter word for it, I know: Manchild' — the video follows Carpenter through the American West as she attempts to escape a series of hopeless suitors. Whether she's riding on the back of a jet ski barreling down a desert highway, crammed in a shopping cart hitched to a motorcycle, or balancing on a motorized recliner, each vignette shows her failing to get anywhere with men who can't seem to grow up. The Grammy-nominated artist poked fun at the concept on Instagram, writing: 'it's exactly what i pictured in my head… no animals were harmed in the making but some men were.' Manchild is Carpenter's first new release since the deluxe edition of Short n' Sweet, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She co-wrote the track with songwriter Amy Allen and producer Jack Antonoff. On Instagram, she said it was written after finishing the album: 'this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.' Carpenter is currently on a brief hiatus from her Short n' Sweet world tour, which resumes in July with performances in London's Hyde Park, followed by a North American leg.

Timbaland launches AI-generated artist TaTa under new company Stage Zero

Grammy-winning producer Timbaland has announced the launch of a new AI-driven entertainment company, Stage Zero, and introduced its first AI-generated artist, TaTa. The artist, depicted as a pink-haired virtual performer, will represent what Timbaland describes as a new genre: 'A-pop, artificial pop.' Photo: Rolling Stone Stage Zero co-founder Rocky Mudaliar told Rolling Stone that TaTa marks an early step in redefining pop music through AI. Timbaland, who now serves as creative director at Suno—an AI music tool—said he became interested in the technology after uploading his unfinished demos and being captivated by the AI-generated voice responses. 'It came to a point where I'm like, 'Yo, this voice, it's amazing.'' While humans will remain part of the creative process behind TaTa's music, reactions have been divided. The music industry is still grappling with how AI fits into copyright law, with Suno already facing legal action from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for allegedly using copyrighted material to train its AI models. There is no confirmed release date for TaTa's first single, but Stage Zero plans to make her as lifelike as possible with an active online presence. Mudaliar believes public scepticism will wane over time, saying '[AI is] not going anywhere,' and comparing its rise to the acceptance of social media influencers.
