The King Gillette Ranch where the child was struck by the tree is described as 'one of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains' by the National Park Service.
The 588-acre ranch is in the heart of the Malibu Creek Watershed, and offers families services including picnicking, hiking and bird watching.
It is named after King Gillette, a business magnate who started the Gillette razor company and bought the property in 1926.
The park's location in the Santa Monica Mountains puts it close to the celebrity enclave of Calabasas, and it is just 7 miles from Kim Kardashian's $20 million home in Calabasas' Hidden Hills.

Bus collision in Afghanistan claims 79 lives
KABUL, Aug 20 (Reuters) - An overcrowded bus carrying Afghans expelled from Iran crashed in western Afghanistan and at least 79 people were killed, authorities said on Wednesday. The crash on the Herat-Kabul highway involved a motorcycle, a truck and a bus late on Tuesday, said Ahmdullah Muttaqi, head of the information department for Herat's provincial government. The bus was carrying Afghan refugees expelled from Iran, part of an exodus of hundreds of thousands of people, who were on their way from the border to Kabul. Abdul Mateen Qaniee, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said that the bus caught fire after the accident, which happened a 30-minute drive outside Herat. He said on Wednesday that the death toll was 79, with 17 children among the deceased. Video footage from the scene showed bright flames engulfing the bus, with a fire truck trying to douse the flames. A charred metal skeleton remained of the bus afterwards, pictures showed. Traffic accidents are common in Afghanistan, with poor infrastructure exacerbated by decades of war, and drivers not following the rules. 'We urge transportation authorities to provide accurate information about the accident as soon as possible and to share their findings regarding the responsible party,' said Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Afghan government. Herat, a key border province of Afghanistan touching Iran and Turkmenistan, is currently hosting tens of thousands of deported migrants from Iran.

Madia Kauser, 32, was walking with her family in Witton Park in Blackburn, Lancashire, on August 11 when she was hit by the branch as she reportedly pushed her young daughter to safety. In a tribute issued by police, her husband Wasim Khan said: 'My wife, a mother of two, a daughter, sister and a friend we lost to a tragic event that came on the way home from a family day out in the park. 'She was the most beautiful woman in the world, she did everything for our two children, she did everything she could for anyone and would bring smiles whenever she entered the room. 'She was my comfort, my partner in life and the love of my life. 'We have so many great memories, went through pain together and started a family together. 'Honestly, I feel completely lost without her and I do not know how to put into words how much I miss her face, her character and her presence. My one and only.' A joint investigation between Lancashire Police and the Health and Safety Executive was launched following Mrs Kauser's death. Detective Inspector Iain Czapowski said: 'This is an absolutely tragic incident which has cost a young woman her life and my thoughts are with her loved ones. 'We are working closely with our colleagues from the Health and Safety Executive and with the co-operation of the council to try and establish the full circumstances of what happened, and I would like to speak to anyone with information which could assist with that. 'I am especially keen to speak to anyone who actually saw what happened on that fateful night and I would urge them to contact us.' Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log 1553 of August 11.
