‘They Are Very Much Their Own People': Kajol On Parenting Nysa And Yug

Kajol is gearing up for her upcoming horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia and produced by her husband Ajay Devgn. The film is set to hit theatres on June 27. Maa delves into how a mother can go to any length to protect her child. In real life, Kajol is a mother of two, Nysa and Yug. In her latest interview, she shared how her relationship is with her kids and how her parenting journey has been so far.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kajol was asked whether her children, Nysa and Yu,g are more attached to her or Ajay Devgn. Reacting to this, the actress proudly stated that they both are her kids, and she is happy that 'they are very much their own people." Explaining this further, the actress recalled how once she asked her son Yug who he wished to look like, his father Ajay or his mother. It was his answer that surprised Kajol. Kajol shared, 'He looked at me like I'm holding a gun on his head. And he looked at me very calmly and very diplomatically turned around and says, 'I look like Yug. I am Yug'. So I think that defines my children."
She added, 'I'm very, very happy to say that I've brought up two individuals who have their own personalities, who I hope have taught to think for themselves and I think that's been my biggest teaching as a parent."
Moreover, Kajol also shared that once she reaches home, her kids always come up to her whining about things. 'The minute I see them ek baar mil gayi usko toh I am only mom. There's no other character that I can play at that point of time," said Kajol.
Kajol's upcoming film Maa also features Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. It portrays the story of a mother who transforms into Kali to break a demonic curse based on fear, blood, and betrayal. The film also has Jitin Gulati, Gopal Singh, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj and Roopkatha Chakraborty as supporting characters.
