School shooter's father facing felony charges in Wisconsin
The father of a 15-year-old school shooter was arrested and charged last week after allowing his daughter access to semiautomatic pistols, which were used in a fatal school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, last December.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by The Associated Press, 42-year-old Jeffrey Rupnow has been charged with two felony counts of intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a person under 18 that caused death and contributed to the delinquency of a child. The charges come after Rupnow's 15-year-old daughter, Natalie Rupnow, committed a mass shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in December.
According to The Associated Press, Rubi Bergara, a 14-year-old student, and Erin Michelle West, a teacher at Abundant Life Christian School, were killed in December's mass shooting, while six others were injured prior to Natalie Rupnow ending her own life.
The Associated Press reported that Jeffrey Rupnow was arrested on Thursday and booked at the Dane County Jail.
In the criminal complaint obtained by The Associated Press, the 42-year-old father explained how his daughter struggled with her parents' divorce and expressed her anger in a manifesto titled 'War Against Humanity.' The criminal complaint noted that Jeffrey Rupnow attempted to bond with Natalie Rupnow through guns.

According to The Associated Press, investigators discovered a 9 mm Glock handgun that Jeffrey Rupnow had purchased for the 15-year-old, as well as a .22-caliber Sig Sauer pistol, at the scene of the shooting. The complaint indicated that Jeffrey Rupnow had given the Sig Sauer pistol to his daughter as a Christmas gift in 2023.
Jeffrey Rupnow told investigators that he took his daughter shooting roughly two years prior to the school shooting. After discovering that his daughter enjoyed shooting, he attempted to use guns to connect with her; however, he told investigators that he was surprised how her interest in guns 'snow balled.'
According to the criminal complaint, Jeffrey Rupnow kept his daughter's pistols in a gun safe and gave his daughter the access code. The 42-year-old reportedly texted a friend prior to the school shooting that his daughter would shoot him if he left 'the fun safe open right now.'
The Associated Press reported that the criminal complaint showed Rupnow had removed the Sig Sauer pistol from the gun safe to clean it just one day before the school shooting and that he became distracted and was not sure if he put the gun back in the safe or if he locked the safe.
According to The Associated Press, in Natalie Rupnow's 'War Against Humanity' manifesto, the 15-year-old described humans as 'filth,' expressed her admiration for school shooters, and revealed that her firearms had been obtained 'by lies and manipulation, and my fathers stupidity.'

California gun control bill that could ban popular Glock pistol sales moves forward
( — A bill that could ban the sale of the most popular handgun in the U.S. is potentially on its way to becoming law after it passed through the California State Assembly on Tuesday. Assembly Bill 1127, also referred to by many people as the Glock Ban Bill, was authored by Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino) and would prohibit licensed firearms dealers from selling guns that can be 'easily converted by hand or with common household tools' into a machine gun. Although the Glock isn't specifically mentioned in the written legislation, it falls into that category of firearms. New gun laws won't be enforced by Sutter County Sheriff's Office 'I am pleased to be presenting AB 1127, which will protect communities from mass shootings and gun violence by encouraging gun manufacturers to prevent the conversion of their firearms to dangerous automatic weapons,' Gabriel said during an Assembly Standing Committee hearing. He continued, 'Automatic weapons are exceptionally lethal and capable of firing hundreds of rounds per minute. They are illegal in California. Unfortunately, some semi-automatic firearms feature a dangerous design flaw that allows them to be converted to fully automatic weapons through an attachment of a cheap and easy-to-use device, known as a switch.' (FOX 2) - Just a few hours after announcing a suspect was wanted for planning a mass shooting at a Pontiac high school, the sheriff announced their suspect was taken into custody. Jamarion Jaryante Hardiman was arrested on Friday, within hours of being identified as a suspect wanted for planning a mass shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Pontiac. Sheriff Michael Bouchard had announced the charges during a noon press conference. By 4 p.m., the sheriff said Hardiman was in custody. What we know The two suspects were arrested after authorities said they planted weapons under vehicles at the graduation ceremony for a Pontiac school at United Wholesale Mortgage's sports complex. A 19-year-old has also been arrested, but has not been arraigned yet. Both men allegedly placed packages under vehicles at the venue, which were later discovered to obtain two firearms containing 80 rounds of ammunition between them. Neither suspect is enrolled at the school, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Friday. Sheriff deputies were first dispatched to the venue after a fight broke out between individuals at the ceremony. Working with security at the venue, a preliminary investigation by police uncovered a larger plot. An individual approached police about information from a family member that a Snapchat message previously seen included a threat to shoot up the ceremony. "In our business, we call that a clue," Bouchard said. The details were relayed to police who later found packages underneath vehicles, each containing loaded weapons. One was an AR-style pistol with a round drum that included 40 rounds of ammunition. The second weapon was a semi-automatic Glock handgun with a stick magazine, also containing 40 rounds of ammunition. Both were unregistered.
