Angels coach Eric Young Sr. tossing snacks to son Eric Jr. on Mariners was so wholesome
When you take your kid to the ballpark, it's only right to get them a snack, so Los Angeles Angels first base coach Eric Young Sr. did his duty Saturday by providing a few for Eric Jr.
What made this father-son moment so unique, though, is that Eric Jr. is the first base coach of the team LA was getting set to play, the Seattle Mariners.

According to the broadcast, Eric Sr. tossed his 40-year-old kid some fruit chews and a protein bar, saying "I'm a proud papa. I gotta make sure junior is taken care of." The below video shows the snacks landing just in front of the Mariners dugout, where Eric Jr. gladly scooped up the gift from pops.
Eric Jr. last played in the majors in 2018 and has been a coach since his first gig with the Washington Nationals in 2021, yet dad is still making sure he's good. It doesn't get more wholesome than that.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Rookie center fielder Denzel Clarke made yet another spectacular catch for the Athletics, this time reaching high above the wall to rob the Los Angeles Angels' Nolan Schanuel of a home run on Monday night. The Angels had one out and no one on in the bottom of the first when Schanuel launched a 1-0 splitter from Grant Holman toward left-center. Clarke raced back and planted his right foot about halfway up the wall in a perfectly timed leap and grabbed the top for support. He extended the upper half of his body several feet beyond the wall and made a backhand grab with his left arm fully stretched out. Clarke let out a roar after the catch. Schanuel gazed toward the outfield in disbelief, and Holman held his hands above his head. Clarke has made several terrific catches since he debuted on May 23. He robbed the Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk of a home run a week and a half ago. Athletics rookie Denzel Clarke nearly scales outfield wall while robbing home run in matchup vs. Angels
Denzel Clarke didn't just rob a home run on Monday night. He nearly scaled the entire outfield wall at Angel Stadium to do so. Clarke, in the first inning of the Athletics' matchup with the Los Angeles Angels, started tracking what should've been an easy solo home run from Nolan Schanuel deep in center field. As Clarke reached the wall, he completely climbed up it and nearly launched himself all the way over it while somehow robbing Schanuel's homer. Advertisement Schanuel, and just about everyone else on the field, was left completely stunned. The play came just days after Clarke made another ridiculous grab in the outfield. On Friday night in Sacramento, Clark launched his body into the outfield wall while making a catch at Sutter Health Park. That one, though, looked much more painful. Thankfully, Clarke was fine after he collected himself. Monday night's game was just the 16th of Clarke's with the Athletics, who called him up from their Triple-A affiliate earlier this season. The 25-year-old entered the contest with a .224 batting average with one home run and three RBIs. The As took him in the fourth round of the Amateur Draft in 2021 out of Cal State Northridge.
