A MOTHER has been left gobsmacked after a B&M mug spontaneously exploded and sounded 'like a bomb', just two days after she purchased it.
Rebecca Drake, 33, caught footage of a glass mug exploding with no one near it and claims it could have blown up in her face.

The mum-of-one picked up two glass mugs and glass tumblers from the bargain chain on May 6th and used the cup for the first time just two days later on May 8th.
She took a sip of her cold matcha latte, before putting the £3 mug down and popping into the garden.
But when she returned, she found it shattered and the contents splattered across her table.
Pointing the finger of blame at one of her two Sproodle dogs, the cake business owner looked at her dog camera footage and was stunned to see it had spontaneously exploded, sounding 'like a bomb'.
After sharing the now-viral clip on Facebook, social media users were whipped up in a paranormal frenzy, urging her to flee the property and suggesting she contact famous psychic Derek Acorah.
While the mother admits the explosion was 'spooky', she believes a chip in the glass was a more likely cause - and simply wants a refund from B&M.
Rebecca, from Mirfield, West Yorkshire, said: "At first I thought maybe it could be a ghost, it was spooky.
"I had one of the radio stations on and they were literally talking about poltergeists as I was cleaning it up.
"But nothing has ever happened in my house before which has made me think that it's haunted.
"I thought I'd check the dog camera to see if one of them jumped up and knocked it.

"I checked the camera and the sound was as if a bomb had gone off, I just couldn't believe it. It took my breath away how it did it on its own and how loud it was.
"There were bits of tiny, tiny glass everywhere, it was all in the dogs' fur and there were big chunks of it all on the table.
"I was only outside for four minutes, I was drinking out of it three minutes before it exploded.'
Not only this, but the shocked woman then added: "It could have literally exploded in my face or in my hands.

'I've got a daughter who's 11 and if she'd had it in her bedroom it could have really hurt her.
"It's really scary to think what could have happened if myself or my daughter were holding the mug.
"If there was hot liquid inside it could have scalded anyone. It's really dangerous.
"I've wrapped up the other ones I bought and I'm going to take them back - I don't want them in my cupboard and I don't want them in my house."
Stunned Rebecca, who bought the mugs from the Dewsbury branch of B&M in West Yorkshire, is unsure of the cause but believes damage in transit may have weakened the glass.

Rebecca explained: "One thing that did confuse me a bit was that they wouldn't let me wrap them up when I bought them.
"I asked if I could get some packaging so that they didn't get any chips in them but they said that they don't keep packaging and they just chuck it all.
"If they're getting damaged then anything could happen.
"Even if it gets the tiniest little chip that can cause the glass to have a weak point. I'm going to take the other mugs back. I don't trust them anymore."
Footage shows the mug on the table as Rebecca's dogs, Suki and Cooper, watch her through the patio doors before a loud smash can be heard.
The mug can be seen exploding as the contents of the matcha latte spills out across the kitchen table - with no one near it.

After sharing the video on Facebook, it has now racked up more than 407,000 views, likes and comments.

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.
The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.
Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.
The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.
Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen.
Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
Viewers shared their theories as to what caused the mug to shatter, with many suggesting it was most likely a manufacturing issue.
One wrote: "Probably a fault in the glass or cold drink not helping."
Whilst a second chimed in: "It's material fatigue. If it's tempered glass, then it doesn't tolerate scratches, micro-cracks etc well.
"Or could be a fault while tempering glass too, uneven tension distribution, if it's manufacturing fault, there would be at least one piece that's much different from the rest.'
However, at the same time, others looked to paranormal reasons.
One simply wrote: "Poltergeist', whilst another commented: "I reckon you need to get Derek Acorah involved."

And alongside a ghost emoji, someone else claimed: "I'd move house.'
A B&M spokesperson has since said: "Product safety is our highest priority.
'This glass mug has undergone rigorous thermal shock testing by an independent laboratory, with all samples passing the required safety standards.
"We are in direct contact with the customer and are actively investigating the issue."

On the day before he set the Derby property alight on May 11, 2012, one recalls spotting him carefully setting up two ladders beneath the upstairs windows in a brazen bid to later pull the kids to safety. Haunted by the memory of the children's blackened bodies, she emotionally tells how they "paid the price of their father's "arrogance and stupidity". Meanwhile, another resident on Victory Road reveals how she and her partner were called 'child murderers' in the street after cops held her and her partner for 72 hours - as shameless Philpott scrambled to pin the blame on THEM for his crimes. The furious locals paint a grotesque picture of the convicted mass killer, who we recently revealed was left "battered and bruised" in a brutal jail beating. In extraordinary detail, they tell how he acted with impunity, seeing himself saw himself as 'God's gift', and paraded up and down the street often dressed in little more than a pair of turquoise speedos. Dinner lady Pearl Turner was in her garden when she spotted her next-door neighbour, Philpott, setting up the ladders at the back of his home. Pearl, who lived next door to the family for several years, claimed that he'd planned to climb them once he'd set the house ablaze, and help pull his kids to safety. The dad - who had previously appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show - had concocted the arson scheme to pin on former mistress Lisa Willis who he was due to face in court over access to his four kids with her. But in a tragic turn of events, he had forgotten to unlock their bedroom windows, leaving them trapped inside the burning building. Evil dad Mick Philpott who killed six children in a horror blaze left 'battered and bruised' in brutal jail beating The fire claimed the lives of Duwayne, 13, Jade, 10, John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five. Only Duwayne, the eldest, managed to escape the house alive, before he too died from his injuries in hospital days later. Both Philpott and his wife Mairead, who supported his plan, were eventually arrested on May 29 2012, initially for murder, although charges were later changed to manslaughter. Haunting memories Thirteen years on, Pearl is still traumatised by the memory of seeing the five children's charred bodies laid out in a row in the street outside her home as firefighters tried in vain to save them. Now 78 and retired, she was still living next door to where the tragedy unfolded when The Sun revisited the scene of the killings. Breaking her silence on the horrific fire, she says: 'I'll never get the sight of them lying there out of my head." She shared heartbreaking details about the night of the fire but also offered insight into the extraordinary lengths Philpott had gone to in order to ensure he emerged as a hero. She added: 'I was in my garden the day before the fire and Philpott came home with two sets of ladders. 'He initially placed them against my wall at the back, then moved them off and positioned them very carefully underneath the two upstairs windows at the rear of his house. 'I knew he hadn't brought the ladders home to do any DIY or a spot of house maintenance because he was useless and lazy. I'd never seen any ladders at his property before. 'As soon as I became aware their house was on fire, it became clear to me what his purpose with the ladders had been. He'd planned to use them to climb up to their windows and rescue them so he could play the hero. 'But he forgot the bedroom windows had locks on them and in the panic and chaos of the fire, with smoke everywhere, those poor children weren't able to open the windows and died. "They paid the price of their father's arrogance and stupidity. It was all such a needless, tragic waste. 'They were lovely, polite kids. They always waved at me when they saw me. If I was in the garden, they'd wave from their bedroom windows. 'On the day of the fire, I told the police about my suspicions over the ladders, but it took them weeks to arrest him. I've never really understood why. It was obvious to me what he'd done.' 'We were called child murderers' One of those arrested, a 41-year-old woman named Vicky, also told The Sun - in another first interview - how Philpott tried to frame her and her partner for the fire that left six children dead. Vicky, then aged 28, revealed how officers arrested her and her late partner Adam, then 38, who died last year, and took them to Ripley police station and held them for questioning for 72 hours. Through tears, Vicky said: 'We had been friends with Mick, Mairead and Lisa (Philpott's former live-in mistress) for some time and Mick used that friendship to try and save his own skin. 'When the police spoke to him on the day of the fire he told them me and Adam had started it. "As soon as they told me Mick had accused us of starting the fire, I knew it had to have been Mick himself who had done it. Why else would he have tried to put it on us? 'Even so, it took us three days to convince the cops we were innocent before they let us go, but when we got back people still believed we'd done it. 'We were getting called child murderers in the street and on social media. It was absolute hell for us. It went on for months and months. I am still traumatised by it. "Poor Adam is dead now but it was the same for him until the day he died. You just never get over it. 'The abuse only stopped when Philpott and the other two went to court and the details came out, but for me and Adam, the damage was already done. 'And those poor, poor children. Nothing could bring them back. 'Philpott was an obnoxious, self-centred b*****d who thought he was God's gift to everything. He killed his own children then tried to frame me and Adam - his friends - for it. That tells you what kind of man he is. 'I hope he is never released from jail. 'Lisa has long since moved away from Derby and I would never tell anyone where she is now,' she said. Vicky also revealed that Mairead, who was released early from jail in 2023, has since changed her name and is living with a new partner. 'She is a monster too and should never have been let out early. Why should she be allowed to start a new life as if nothing happened?' 'Hope he never gets out' Speaking to those living in Victory Road now, it is notable how many locals' lives were interwoven with the Philpotts. Neighbour Martin's son was in a relationship with Philpott's daughter from his first marriage at the time of the tragedy. He said his son, then 18, had been one of the first to try and enter the burning building and rescue the children. Martin said: 'Before the fire crews arrived, my boy was there trying to get the kids out. "He saw the ladders at the back of the house and climbed up to try and get in through the window but the heat was so intense it was burning the hairs off his arms. His skin felt like it was on fire. 'He tried and tried to smash the windows but he just couldn't. It was awful. 'He knew the Philpotts because he'd been going out with one of Mick's daughters for about a year at the time. We all got to know Mick and his family quite well and we'd sometimes go round for dinner. He'd been on TV and thought of himself as a star. He really believed he was a film star. 'But I never thought for a moment he'd be capable of what he did. 'What happened put such a strain on my son's relationship with Mick's daughter that they broke up a year or so later. "My son was traumatised by the events of that night and he has struggled with his emotions to this day, although very recently he has started to open up a little. 'All of us around here just want to forget about Mick and that horrific day, but it is impossible. I hope he never gets out of prison.' Elsewhere in Victory Road, a 38-year-old mother told how her son was at school with several of the Philpotts' children. She recoils at the mention of Mick Philpott's name and tells how he 'made my skin crawl'. She said: 'I hated him on sight. He was a horrible, horrible man. 'He was friends with my ex-partner and he'd call round here to see him wearing nothing but a pair of tight, turquoise Speedos and a pair of trainers. 'He'd stand at our porch with one leg raised on the windowsill like he was God's gift, but all I saw was a fame-hungry w****r. He was utterly repulsive. 'I had nieces in their teens at the time and when they were here he'd be leering at them. It was disgusting. 'When they left to go back home, I'd go with them in case he tried to follow them. I just didn't trust him at all. 'I felt sorry for Mairead because she was completely under his thumb and did whatever he told her to. He treated her miserably. "Once I told her to stop being such a wet blanket and stand up to him, but she never did. If he told her to jump, she'd say 'How high?'. It was that kind of relationship. 'It was a weird set-up with the three of them. Between Mairead and Lisa, one of them was always pregnant. 'But even though I knew what an awful man he was, I was surprised he could kill his own children. I hope to God he is never allowed out of jail for what he did.' Battered and bruised Last month, The Sun revealed how Philpott was left with bruises and lumps on his head after an inmate battered him with a metal container at tough HMP Wakefield, West Yorks. A source said: 'Philpott was in a bad way after the attack – battered and bruised and with two large and noticeable lumps on the back of his head. 'The other lad pounced on him and whacked him quite a few times from behind. 'It was one bloke on his own – someone quite a bit younger than Philpott and it happened really quickly on the landing. 'There was a huge commotion, an alarm was going off and guards rushed in to help. 'Otherwise it could have been a lot worse for Philpott. Al Moreton woke up in hospital two days after the incident, with no memory of what happened. Doctors told him his injuries were consistent with being struck repeatedly, rather than a fall, he says. But with police closing the case after being unable to find any CCTV footage, Al posted about it on Facebook before receiving an odd response. He was sent a DM from a stranger telling him he may know who committed the attack but was too scared to give any further details. Al had been attending a friend's private birthday party at Bomba nightclub in Exeter on Friday, February 28. He drove from his home in Cullompton, Devon, arriving at the club around 8pm - with the plan to get the last bus home at 11pm and pick up his car the next day. However, Al is told by pals he became quickly intoxicated despite only having a few drinks, and fears he may have been spiked. He told The Sun: "I don't remember anything from after leaving the house due to my injuries." Al understands he left the club, in The Quay area of the city centre, at 10.30pm with the intention of heading for the bus station. But he said witnesses told him he was seen walking the opposite direction towards the River Exe. "He didn't leave his name or anything, he just dropped me off and didn't want to be involved in any other way." Al added: "I'd like to be able to thank the person. I've no idea who they are. Al Moreton He explained he had a "small recollection" of Saturday, March 1, "but thought that was a dream", adding: "When I woke up on Sunday I realised it wasn't a dream. I had family around me." Al said his injuries, according to hospital staff, "aren't consistent with falling over - the injury to my forehead is consistent with being hit by something". He continued: "I've got no scraping - if I'd fallen over I would have hit something and scraped. Al said he reported it to police and they "investigated for a month or so" and was told officers had done door to door inquiries and searched for CCTV footage - but came up with nothing. "It's odd that there's no footage of me, considering I ended up on an industrial estate where I assume there's loads of cameras," he said. Judging by his route, Al believes he likely walked passed a couple of pubs too. "Pubs would've been kicking out that sort of time and people would've been around and about," he said. Strangely, Al didn't have any possessions missing when he woke up in the hospital. "My phone was apparently missing but was actually picked up by a doctor who worked at the hospital, so I had it back when I woke up," he explained. "My wallet was there and there was no money missing, so it wasn't a robbery." Roaming gang Al theorised it could have been a gang roaming around who attacked him at random. "They may have seen how vulnerable I was and decided to start something," he said. "I'm not a violent person, I wouldn't have been aggressive, I never am when I'm drunk, I'm more of a lover than fighter when I'm drunk." He posted about the incident on Facebook a few days after getting out of hospital and then a couple of weeks ago noticed he had "four or five" messages in his spam folder. "There was someone who had said that they thought they saw me actually not at the Quay but further away in a different direction, stumbling around drunk. "I've got to hand that onto the police and see if they pursue that." He said another message was very strange. "Someone on Facebook said 'I know who the people are'. "They said 'I'm a bit afraid to talk about it' - but then said they would give further information for money, so I don't know how real that was. I passed it onto police." The event Al was attending was a private, invite-only do for around 50 people. Asked how likely it is he could've been spiked, he said: "I find it hard to believe, usually it's women who get spiked. But speaking to someone else, they said actually all sorts of people get spiked because you're left vulnerable and can be followed." He's not sure if he was tested for substances in his blood while he was in hospital but said it wasn't mentioned by the doctors. Referring to his injuries, Al continued: "I had two bleeds on the brain, one on each side at the front and then four fractures around my right eye socket. I'm not working, so struggling to pay rent and pay bills. It's led to a dramatic change in my circumstances Al Moreton "That's now been fixed and plated. One of the points I had a bleed I had some damage to the brain on that side, which has caused me to effectively lose my job because I'm a lorry driver. "I've had my licences revoked for 12 months because I'm at a risk of seizures. "I'm not working, so struggling to pay rent and pay bills. It's led to a dramatic change in my circumstances." Al has been told he suffered "serious significant head injuries" but that his cognitive functions will improve over time. "Like with a lot of injuries, it takes time while I recover - they said I should recover 100%, but they can't be sure at this stage." Al says he was told by the DVLA he needed to prove he's "less than a two percent risk" of seizures over a 12 month period before he can be given his licence back. "I've not had a seizure and I don't feel like I've been on the verge of having one," he explained. Al is currently suffering with post concussion syndrome, having spent a couple of months living at his mum's home following the attack. "I wasn't bedridden but I was extremely tired and had constant headaches which were debilitating in themselves," he said of that initial recovery period. "I had constant headaches, woke up with them and went bed with them - I was drained and worn out by the injuries, so mostly stayed in bed." He added: "I'm keeping myself to myself. Two people, a man and a woman, are reported to have been shot at the residence but their identities have not been confirmed, per BNO News. This was followed by another shooting just a few miles away in Brooklyn Park at the home of another Democratic lawmaker who has not been named. They are believed to be a state representative and at least one man was shot there. At 5:30 am an alert was sent to residents by Brooklyn Park Police saying: "Police are looking for a suspect in multiple targeted shootings who is armed and dangerous. "Suspect is white male, brown hair, wearing black body armor over blue shirt and blue pants and may misrepresent himself as law enforcement." No official statement has been made by law enforcement. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has confirmed that he has been briefed on the situation.
