Traffic delays expected, road closures and bus diversions in place for upcoming NDP 2025 NE Shows
The closures will affect key routes leading to and around the Padang, where the shows will be held, said the police in a media release on July 3.
Traffic delays are expected along Beach Road, Bras Basah Road, Collyer Quay, Guillemard Road, Hill Street, Mountbatten Road, North Bridge Road, Raffles Avenue, Raffles Boulevard, Republic Boulevard, Temasek Avenue, Temasek Boulevard and Victoria Street.
Alternative routes via Bayfront Avenue or Rochor Road leading to Temasek Boulevard are recommended for those heading to Suntec City and Marina Square from Bras Basah Road.
Parking restrictions along affected roads will also be strictly enforced, with illegally parked vehicles to be towed away. Members of the public travelling to these areas are strongly encouraged to use public transport.
The annual NE Show is a National Day Parade preview specially organised for Primary 5 pupils to foster national pride and understanding of Singapore's history. It is typically held on the three Saturdays leading up to National Day.
In conjunction with the road closures, several SMRT bus services will be temporarily diverted on all three Saturdays.
Service 502 will skip stops along Bayfront Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Temasek Avenue and Temasek Boulevard between 8am and 11.59pm.
Services 960 and 960e will skip several stops along Raffles Avenue and Beach Road during the same period, while Service 961 will skip stops along Beach Road, North Bridge Road and Parliament Place from first bus to last bus.
Service 61 will also be affected near The Treasury on North Bridge Road between 1pm and 3pm, and again from 6.30pm to 8pm.
The police said only authorised vehicles and emergency services will be allowed access during road closures. Officers from the police, Singapore Armed Forces, auxiliary police, and security firms will be deployed at affected junctions to assist motorists.

NDP 2025: Police reopen all areas in Marina Bay with easing of crowds
SINGAPORE – All locations around the Marina Bay are now open to the public, after the police closed 11 areas earlier due to large crowds gathered for the National Day Parade 2025. 'The crowd situation at the waterfront areas around the Marina Bay has eased and all areas are now reopened to the public,' said the police in a Facebook post at about 9.20pm on Aug 9. The public can check the live Crowd@Marina Bay map at and the police's Facebook page for the latest crowd information. The map will be available online and on TV screens at selected MRT stations from 5pm to 10.30pm. From 7pm to 10.30pm on Aug 9, people can also use the OneMap app on their mobile phones for recommended walking routes to navigate the Marina Bay area. The police previously said that their officers and other uniformed personnel will help to regulate the flow of the crowd in places such as the Esplanade Waterfront and Jubilee Bridge, and the public should be patient and follow their instructions. NDP 2025: Public advised to arrive early for parade amid road closures and enhanced security
SINGAPORE - Those attending the National Day Parade on Aug 9 are encouraged to arrive early amid road closures and enhanced security. The 2025 parade will span two venues – the Padang and Marina Bay. Those attending the NDP show at the Padang are advised to arrive early to allow ample time for security checks, and to enter via the assigned entrance indicated on their tickets, the police said in a statement on Aug 6. Spectators are advised to minimise the number of personal belongings on hand, to facilitate safety checks. Each ticket holder will receive an NDP Pack, which includes items such as water and light snacks. Any container – 100ml or larger – containing liquid, aerosol or gel will be subject to additional checks, while canned items will not be allowed into the venue. The police added that action will be taken against anyone who attempts to bring in prohibited items, including firearms, fireworks, knuckle dusters and handcuffs. The area around the Padang has also been designated a 'special event area', where the flying of unmanned aircraft, including drones, is strictly prohibited. To prevent overcrowding, police officers and other uniformed personnel will help to regulate the flow of the crowd at areas including the Esplanade Waterfront, Jubilee Bridge, Merlion Park, One Fullerton Waterfront, Marina Boulevard Promenade, Marina Bay Sands Waterfront and Helix Bridge. Those hoping to watch the parade from Marina Bay should check a crowd map at to view real-time crowd levels, and any areas that may be closed due to crowd build-up. The Crowd@Marina Bay map will be available online and on TV screens at selected MRT stations from 5pm to 10.30pm on Aug 9. From 7pm to 10.30pm on Aug 9, people can also use the OneMap app on their mobile phones for recommended walking routes to navigate the Marina Bay area. In addition, certain entrances and exits of MRT stations around the Marina Bay area will be closed to regulate crowd flow. In the event of overcrowding, trains may bypass affected stations, such as Bayfront MRT station. MRT stations including Bayfront, City Hall, Esplanade and Raffles Place MRT stations are expected to be very crowded, the police said. Members of the public are encouraged to use other nearby MRT stations such as Promenade, Downtown and Marina Bay MRT stations. Traffic arrangements To facilitate the event, selected roads and lanes in the Marina Bay area will be closed to vehicular traffic on Aug 9 and 10. During the closure, access will be granted only to authorised vehicles as well as police and emergency vehicles.
