In line with its commitment to academic excellence, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has announced the launch of 17 new academic programs set to commence in the Fall Semester of 2025/2026. The new programs spanning undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels have been curated to address emerging global challenges and opportunities, receiving accreditation by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in the UAE.The introduction of these programs reflects ADU's strategic focus on cultivating a diverse and dynamic educational portfolio, encompassing vital areas such as international relations, psychology, public health, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, cybersecurity, cyber law, fintech, intelligent systems and digital transformation.Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, said: 'By embedding these disciplines into our curriculum, the university continues to strengthen its commitment to providing a multidisciplinary, high-quality education that aligns with UAE's national priorities and positions the institution as a leader on the global academic stage. ADU is constantly aligning its curricula with the latest developments in science and technology among others to equip students with the knowledge and competencies needed to lead in their chosen fields and drive meaningful impact in the region and beyond.'At the undergraduate level, ADU will offer five new programs: the Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Video Game Design, Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, and Bachelor of Science in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering. These programs are designed to equip students with foundational and transformative skills that respond to the evolving demands of the global workforce, while nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.The University is also expanding its postgraduate offerings with eight specialized programs tailored to meet emerging industry needs. These include the Master of Science in Fintech, Master of Science in Strategic Digital Transformation, Master of Education in Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, Master of Law in Cyberlaw and Artificial Intelligence, Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Arts in Digital Communication and Technology, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, and Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence. Each program is developed to offer students advanced knowledge and practical skills that prepare them to thrive in high-growth sectors and contribute to the UAE's knowledge-based economy.Marking a significant milestone in the University's academic journey, ADU is introducing four doctoral programs. The new PhD programs include the Doctor of Philosophy in Law, Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Intelligent Systems Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Management. This marks the first time that the College of Engineering, College of Arts, Education and Social Sciences, and College of Law will offer doctoral-level studies, strengthening the University's position as a center for research, innovation, and academic leadership.Through this strategic expansion, ADU amplifies its role as an incubator of innovation and academic excellence as well as solidifying its position as a global beacon of higher education. Reinforcing its commitment to advancing the UAE's national industrial strategy, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), marking a significant step toward deepening cooperation in the fields of industrial innovation, academic engagement, and national capacity building. The agreement outlines a framework for joint initiatives that foster industrial innovation, connect academia with industry, and empower national talent by aligning scientific research with market needs. It also includes the development of specialized training programs for students and startups in support of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the 'Make it in the Emirates' MoU was signed recently by His Excellency Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector at MoIAT and Dr. Hamad Odhabi, Vice Chancellor of AI and Operational Excellence at Abu Dhabi University, on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum. The signing followed ADU's active participation in the event, where the university showcased a range of student-led innovations aligned with the UAE's strategic industrial priorities.H.E. Highlights included PipeGuard Falcon, an AI-powered robotic system for pipeline inspection and predictive maintenance; 3D-printed concrete solutions using locally sourced materials to support sustainable infrastructure; and AiMM, a smart medication management system designed to enhance patient safety and healthcare efficiency. Other highlights included a drone detection and tracking system, an autonomous marine vessel for debris collection, an AgriTech dispersion device for precision farming, and custom circuit boards advancing automation and Dhabi University reaffirms its role as a key contributor to the UAE's industrial transformation and its continued participation in ambitious national initiatives such as Make it in the Emirates. ADU Elevates Innovation at the 12th URIC, MENA's Premier Undergraduate Research Competition

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) hosted the 12th edition of the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (URIC) on May 29 at its main campus in Abu Dhabi. For the third consecutive year, the event was sponsored by RTX, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to supporting STEM education and fostering innovation in the UAE and beyond. The hybrid annual event brought together exceptional undergraduate talent from around the world to present breakthrough research and creative solutions across 27 academic disciplines, including engineering, business, education, law, and health sciences. This year's competition drew 650 research submissions from approximately 1,300 students representing 105 universities across 14 countries, reaffirming URIC's position as the largest undergraduate research platform in the GCC and MENA region. The event celebrated a diverse range of pioneering projects, including innovations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Sciences, Cybersecurity, Finance, Fintech, E-commerce, and Digital Marketing, Sustainable and Renewable Energy, highlighting the breadth and depth of innovation led by undergraduate students. Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, commented: 'URIC continues to shine a spotlight on the ingenuity and research excellence of our youth. Now in its twelfth year, URIC has become a cornerstone of Abu Dhabi University's commitment to championing youth-driven research and entrepreneurship. In 2024, URIC attracted nearly 600 research submissions spanning 27 disciplines, with participation from 1,400 students representing 78 universities across 16 countries in the MENA region and beyond. ADU Hosts Second International Conference on Global Sustainable Development Uniting

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) successfully hosted the second edition of the International Conference on Global Sustainable Development (ICGSD 2025) on May 23–24 at its Dubai campus. Marking the conference's first edition in the region, the event convened leading academic scientists, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts from ten countries to exchange ideas and explore innovative solutions to today's most pressing sustainability in collaboration with Digambarrao Bindu College and Acadivate, the premier interdisciplinary conference brought together more than 130 global experts for high-impact discussions and cross-sector collaboration spanning health, business, environment, technology, and social sciences. Through a dynamic agenda of plenary sessions, panel debates, and over 100 research presentations, ICGSD 2025 explored critical themes including climate change, renewable energy, social justice, AI in education, and sustainable development practices.
